Memorial Day• Memorial Day is a
day for remembering and honoring those who died serving their country.
• Memorial day is on May 30th; however, it is observed on the last Monday in May.

• A day which honors the men and women who have served in the armed forces, or military (alive or dead)

The History of Veterans Day
• On November 11, 1918, an agreement ended the fighting of World War I
• 9 million soldiers died
• “The war to end all wars.”

Armistice Day• The agreement was called
an "armistice." • The world hoped that World
War I was the war that would end all wars, so November 11 soon became known as "Armistice Day.“
