CHALLENGE:Client desires to monitor oil pipelines bi-weekly along a 1 kilometer wide right of way to detect leaks, illegal construction in the right of way, natural threats to pipeline integrity and other incursions and hazards.In addition pipeline faces costs from theft and leaks. Globally a $37 billion a year problem.Client currently uses visual patrols to meet requirement at an annual cost of $1600 per linear km. This budget inhibits full compliance with the legal mandate.
SATELLOGIC SOLUTION: Monitor entire system at increased frequency and substantially lower cost using artificial intelligence applied to satellite imagery.Allow rapid and automatic detection of man-made or natural change, damage, incursions, threats and theft. Tailor solution to specific needs. Improve legal compliance while lowering potential costs.
CASE STUDY: CROP MONITORING
Agriculture – Large Scale Rice Farm
CHALLENGE:No systematic way to monitor crop development during campaigns. Multiple factors that impact productivity are measured separately and used as potential proxies for yield prediction. Company currently uses ad hoc visual patrols, drone imagery and ground sensors for irregular estimates and acts based on individual factors. Current sensor cost and specs also restricts information to a fraction of total farm operations.
SATELLOGIC SOLUTION: Use a combination of hyperspectral and multispectral imagery, in addition to other data sources, to develop a weekly estimate of yield that is dynamically adjusted over time. Model can assess the impact of different actions in the main goal: productivity. Resulting system is low-cost, independent of farm surface and allows for data-driven weekly measures to be taken on the field.

Local Government
CHALLENGE:Government wishes to track effective usage and stress of natural resources. In this case, the challenge is to track the presence of cars in land areas, particularly parking lots, and boats in water surfaces. Current approach consists in monitoring manually predefined regions. This is irregular, costly, inaccurate and does not scale in terms of surface or frequency.
SATELLOGIC SOLUTION: Define areas of interest to receive a weekly update of number of cars and boats, locations, densities, confidence metrics and other statistics based on 1 meter satellite imagery.
