HSC10HSC 200 – High-Speed Gr inding Machinefor Rotor T ips

Grinding on a HSC grinding machine

allows minimum clearance between rotor

and seal surface and therefore guaran-

tees a reduction in fuel consumption. The

machining of rotor blade tips on this

high-speed grinding machine represents

a technological leap ahead.

The main feature of the HSC 200 grinding

machine is the high rotational speed of

the workpiece. Grinding is carried out at

almost the operating speed of the engine

rotor. The centrifugal force holds the

blades steady and no additional clamping

of the blades is necessary.

As clamping can be avoided, total pro-

cessing time is reduced considerably -

from 12 hours to 3 hours approx. on the

HSC 200. On top of fuel saving, additional

cost savings are realized through the

reduced process time.

Apart from the economic advantages, the

production on this machine minimizes

noise level. Therefore HSC 200 is an eco-

nomic investment as regards financial

issues as well as the environment.
