Verifying a Collection Agency or Repossessor’s license

1. Go to our website www.rld.state.nm.us

2. Select “Financial Institutions” from the Divisions drop down menu or click “Financial Institutions Division” on the main page.

3. Click on “Licensee Search” on the left side of the page.

4. Click on “Licensed facility” in the middle of the page.

5. Use the drop downs to select the following and click SEARCH • Profession: Financial Institutions • License Type: Repossessor / Collection Agency • License Status: All or Active (if you are looking to review only companies with current licenses. • License Number: (type license number found on the copy of the repossessor‘s /

Collection Agency license ) (YOU MAY ALSO LEAVE THIS BLANK, TO REVIEW A LIST OF ALL REPOSSESSORS / COLLECTION AGENCIES IN NEW MEXICO)

6. A list of companies with the license number should appear along with current status.

7. Click on the company name to get more detail.
