• A linking verb is a verb that connect a subject with a word that describes or identifies it.
Ex: Edison was a great inventor.

Separating Linking Verbs from Action Verbs
• Some linking verbs can also be used as action verbs:

Helping Verbs
• A helping verb is a verb that are added before another verb to make a verb phrase, giving the main verb more meaning.
Ex: He might have cheated all the time.
