The HVZ GENIUS is a hydraulically operat- ed paver laying clamp to be used together with an excavator. It is equipped with a hydro-mechanical conrol unit for all move- ments of the grab and a hydraulic rotator with continuous rotation of 360°. The grip- ping of the paver layer including the possi- bly required shifting into running bond is automatically done. The operator of the excavator has only to start the gripping and releasing movements via the lever grip. Uniform joints of highest precision complying with the standards are granted by means of the specific pushing-off device ADV. This future-proof technology eases the operator’s work even if he is not very experienced. Every operator of an exca-vator can immediately and productivelywork without training or long practice. Theflexibility of the hydro-mechanical controlunit in changed requirements is simple. Running Bond without Additional WorkWhen required the clamp shifts a
paver layer of rectangular or squarepavers from the cross bond into the run-ning bond. This process runs automatically.No additional work for the excavatoroperator.
The control system auto-matically runs all specifiedmovements of the clamp. Anytime the operator hasthe possibility to cut acourse or to reset or conti-nue it.
Without special instructionevery person can do thepresetting of the clampthrough scales according totables and to respectivelyposition the bolts.

Joints Conforming to the RequirementsDuring the laying process the pavers
slightly creep apart from each other. Thisbears the advantage that the joints areincreased by 1 to 1.5 mm in addition to thespacer bars which results in joints comply-ing to the requirements. A second personfor realignment by hammering the paversis needless. It would be even counterpro-ductive to hammer the pavers since this re-duces not only the approved joints inbetween the pavers but furthermoredecreases the rationalisation and cost sav-ing effect achieved by mechanical laying.

Specific Pushing Off Technology (ADV)for Unbeatable Laying Performance
The HVZ GENIUS is serially equippedwith the patented and automatic Probstpushing off device ADV. Therewith speedand quality of paver laying are un-matched. Seamlessly and easily paverlayer by paver layer is applied to thealready installed pavement. Almost simul-taneously by opening the clamp the ADVautomatically pushes at cyberspeed thepavers in the laying course. This avoidscocking and drifting of single pavers. Man-ual reworking is spared. This results in sav-ings of labour time as well as manpowerand produces a consistent joint appearance.

On top of the HVZ GENIUS suspen-sion is a rotator with a continuous rotationof 360°. It is driven by the second hydrauliccircuit of the excavator thus being conduc-tive to the nearly infinite flexibility of thisinstallation clamp. This rotator is of highquality and ranks among the best of itskind.

Heavy excavator on uncompactedpavement? Don’t worry! A standing excava-tor disperses its weight so evenly on thepavement, that the pressure on the surfaceis barely higher compared to the pressure ofa man’s feet. If the excavator drives slowlyand straight ahead, the pressure is due tothe evenly spread load. Therefore there isno danger for the newly-laid pavement. Incase of a rotation of the excavator it isrecommended to lay plywood sheets belowthe wheels of the crawler.
The Calculation is Simple, Convincingand Verifiable
In order to manually lay 80 sqm for8 hours per day you need two hard-workingpaving installers. If you already have anexcavator with the conventional twohydraulic circuits you just attach the Probsthydraulic installation clamp HVZ GENIUS.Therewith your excavator operator effort-lessly lays 400 sqm of pavers per 8 hourday. This is 5 times more compared to thejob the two workmen can deliver. The fewsteps for mounting the installation clamp tothe excavator and the setting of the clampaccording to the size of the layer consideringtabular defaults do not carry any weight.The excavator operator paves from his dri-ver’s seat automatically and in optimumlaying quality. This overstrains neither theexcavator driver nor the excavator nor theHVZ GENIUS.
