Official Statement VenTESOL National Convention 2017 Dear VenTESOLer, VenTESOL is a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop expertise in English language teaching and learning in Venezuela. VenTESOL exists thanks to volunteer work of our executive board, to external sponsorship of different universities, organizations, institutes and companies, and most importantly to you, our members. As part of our professional development programs, we organize ELT events across the country throughout the year. Our most important and most successful event of the year is our National Convention which brings together more than 700 participants (836 attendees last 34th VenTESOL National Convention 2016) from Venezuela and abroad. Most of our ELT events rely on sponsorship on the entities previously mentioned. Therefore, due to current limitations on sponsorship and increasing prices, we have responsibly decided to opt out holding our upcoming national convention in Caracas. After a lot of research and meetings, we have come up to the decision of still carrying out our 35th Coral Edition VenTESOL National Convention 2017 “Connecting ELT Globally” at Hesperia Hotel in Valencia, Carabobo, Venezuela on May 27th and 28th. We are planning to stay in the center of the country to allow other regions to have the same opportunities to attend the convention. It is important to mention that we decided to go back to Valencia because it offers more reasonable prices and a safe venue, whose staff has decided to help us carry out our annual convention. In addition, we would like to let you know in advance that due to financial limitations, VenTESOL will be digitizing most of our resources such as convention program, certificates, evaluation forms, and the like. VenTESOL will continue striving for excellence in all of our events and we will continue being “Teachers Helping Teachers” no matter what. We count on you, VenTESOLers! Now more than ever, we need your support! VenTESOL Executive Board 2015-2017

VenTESOL National Convention 2017

Dear VenTESOLer,

VenTESOL is a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop expertise in English

language teaching and learning in Venezuela. VenTESOL exists thanks to volunteer work of our

executive board, to external sponsorship of different universities, organizations, institutes and

companies, and most importantly to you, our members.

As part of our professional development programs, we organize ELT events across the country

throughout the year. Our most important and most successful event of the year is our National

Convention which brings together more than 700 participants (836 attendees last 34th VenTESOL

National Convention 2016) from Venezuela and abroad. Most of our ELT events rely on sponsorship on

the entities previously mentioned. Therefore, due to current limitations on sponsorship and increasing

prices, we have responsibly decided to opt out holding our upcoming national convention in

Caracas.

After a lot of research and meetings, we have come up to the decision of still carrying out our 35th

Coral Edition VenTESOL National Convention 2017 “Connecting ELT Globally” at Hesperia Hotel

in Valencia, Carabobo, Venezuela on May 27th and 28th. We are planning to stay in the center of

the country to allow other regions to have the same opportunities to attend the convention. It is

important to mention that we decided to go back to Valencia because it offers more reasonable prices

and a safe venue, whose staff has decided to help us carry out our annual convention. In addition, we

would like to let you know in advance that due to financial limitations, VenTESOL will be digitizing most

of our resources such as convention program, certificates, evaluation forms, and the like.

VenTESOL will continue striving for excellence in all of our events and we will continue being

“Teachers Helping Teachers” no matter what.

We count on you, VenTESOLers! Now more than ever, we need your support!
