Basic colour of a lighting fi xture. In specifi c cases, additional symbols

allowing for determination of a type of surface fi nish (e.g. texture,

matt, gloss) or additional colour of selected elements of a lighting

fi xture are available. Relevant colour codes: basic, additional or sup-

plementing are presented on p. 317 of the catalogue.

Symbol pattern of a lighting fi xture

Every lighting fi xture in VELIRO catalogue is characterized by the main product

code (5 digits code, in tables presented in bold – AAAAA) and the colour code

(normally 2 characters – BB) supplemented by the code of surface fi nish (C), in

few cases also additional colour (DD), describing additional elements of a lighting

fi xture, usually decorative elements (e.g. colour decors of INSPIRE DESIGN profi les).

Power supply

Power supply methods available within a

family of lighting fi xtures. Detailed data are

included in technical specifi cations of ligh-

ting fi xtures. If a fi xture is not adapted for

power supply with mains voltage (230V) it is

necessary to apply appropriate transformers

or adapters which are available in ACCESSO-

RIES section.

Insulation class:

Insulation class defi nes a method for fi xture

manufacturing and requirements regarding

electrical installation. Fixtures of I insulation

class (CL.I) require grounded installation,

fi xtures of II class of insulation (CL.II) do not

need grounding while fi xtures of III insula-

tion class (CL. III) are adapted for low voltage

supply.

Light source:

Symbols of light sources available in lighting fi xtures of a given product family. Type and features of the

light source are presented in the product table. Description and details of light sources corresponding to

particular symbols are presented on p. 316.

Protection Rating IP

The parameter classifying resistance of a ligh-

ting fi xture against intrusion of a solid partic-

le (fi rst digit, range 0-6) and liquids (second

digit, range 0-8). IPXX/YY symbol characte-

rizes the standard lighting fi xture IPXX, with

option to make the IPYY version on request.

CATALOGUE LAYOUT

Electric components

Some light sources require additional electric fi xtures inte-

grated or attached to the lighting fi xture (ballasts, electric

power supply, transformers) for proper operation. ECG sym-

bol indicates that required accessories are encased in the li-

ghting fi xture (electronic components, e.g. ballasts, electronic

transformers) or CCG (conventional components, e.g. toroid

transformers).

INSPIRE DESIGN 80Professional lighting fi xtures including decorative theme are made of aluminium. They are in opti-

mal size, which is a combination of minimalistic design and functionality, characterized by excellent

quality of surface free from mounting bolts. INSPIRE DESIGN fi xtures allow for using exchangeable,

decorative side panels fi nished with coloured decor, wood, leather, stone, Lacobel glass, felt and

image of architectonical concrete or corten metal sheet. The profi le surface may be in natural alumi-

nium, black, grey or white colour. With the ability to customize side surfaces– including possibility

to print an inscription, slogan or logo – the fi xtures may become a part of the visual identifi cation.

Ideally, they fi t in with places where colour is an important décor feature.

there. Exchangeable coloured decors allow using ligh-

Persons not satisfi ed with generally available solutions in the fi eld of lighting have possibility to design their own lighting system

tailored to their individual needs and requirements, considering arrangement of a lighted place. Below there are some guidelines

enabling own design of lighting profi les systems.

1. Selection of a lighting profi les system

Basing on requirements regarding design, fi nish as well as place and method of mounting, the relevant family of a lighting profi les

system must be selected. Comparison of particular profi le families in terms of colour, possible confi guration of light modules and

the method of mounting are presented in the table below.

2. Determination of required confi guration and choice of structural couplings.

Referring to the space in which the system is to be installed the look and desired dimensions of lighting systems must be specifi ed.

A handwritten sketch defi ning dimensions of profi le systems and relative position of the individual elements will be helpful.

3. The selection and arrangement of lighting modules.

Based on the sketch, desired arrangement of lighting modules must be specifi ed. Modules available allowing for both general and

accent lighting. In general, lighting modules using linear fl uorescent tubes or dedicated LED modules are available. Accent lighting

modules are available in adjustable or non- adjustable version, with halogen or LED sources .

Lighting modules are available in the following versions:

NODIM - controlling of light unit using switch on/switch off method

DIM DALI - digital control, individual or group control of models connected to a given control line

DIM 1-10V - modulating/analogue control, simultaneous control of all modules connected to a given control line

EMERGENCY - emergency light module LED, with own electric power supply

The table including module data defi nes the length of the visible part of a module (e.g. louvre, opal diff user) and required minimal

length of the structural profi le. While defi ning the length of the profi le the space for some structural couplings must be considered!

4. Internal installation

The lighting profi les include one electric circuit, common for all light units as a standard. It is possible, on request, to increase the

number of internal circuits in the profi le (max 3 circuits at one power supply cable – and provided common N cable).

5. Mounting system

Recommended rules for selection of mounting elements to profi le systems include a safety margin to avoid typical problems

resulting from the quality of mounting surface (wall/ceiling). Recommended minimal number of mounting components must be

calculated using the following formula:

W - coeffi cient dependent on a mounting method

Result must be rounded up.

Mounting elements at the ends of profi les attached to couplings should not be placed further than 80 cm from the end of profi le/

place of connection.

NOTE! Using modules of DALI version allows for control of individual elements

independently, without a need to provide additional circuits!

Operating principle of the autonomic lighting control system.

INSPIRE fi xtures in inteligent line version are an excellent solution allowing to save up to 80% of energy consumed by lighting system

with relatively small cost. Combination of advanced electronic controlling system and light, move and presence detectors allow for

creating a simple and eff ective system of lighting based on users presence and control of natural illumination. Since the amount of

natural light is subject to continuous change, the light intensity generated by fi xtures also changes dynamically.

The rate of light control is dynamic depending on overall lighting level. The specifi ed value of light intensity may be adjusted with

a button placed on the detector, also changeable with DALI control system, cooperating with inteligent line fi xtures. Possibility to

program operating parameters of control system integrated in the INSPIRE profi le allows for adjustment of working parameters of the

system to needs and requirements of a particular user.

Move detectors installed in the appropriate zones allow for control of users’ presence. The detection can be indicated both based on

the integrated or external, auxiliary sensor. Detection of the presence of a user (phase A) causes an immediate (<0.7 s) brightening

of light to a specifi ed level. The preset lighting level is kept throughout the time of the user’s presence (phase B). With the possibility

of using the profi le sensors, keeping the specifi ed light level may be in conjunction with the day light control. No presence of a user

causes a gradual extinction of light at a specifi ed time to a specifi c, preset level (phase C). Depending on the settings, the system will

maintain a constant low level of illumination (phase D), or after a specifi ed time switches off completely (phase E) - provided that in the

meantime it does not detect the presence of a user.
