Team Profile
We are Edith Cowan University Racing from Perth, Western Australia, this will be
our first time competing outside of Australia.
For our latest car we have made a large conceptual leap from previous cars with
some key features being a custom 600cc in-line four cylinder engine with an
integrated 2 speed gearbox and a gear driven final drive and spool, direct acting
dampers, rear beam axle, single piece wheel/hubs and a full monocoque chassis.
The aim was to simplify the cars main components and reduce the parts count and
thus weight of the car.
The car also features a high down force aerodynamic package and 10 inch Hoosier
tires. The chassis is made using a cut and fold technique developed by the team
and successfully executed since 2010. The carbon fibre skinned aluminium
honeycomb panels are made flat and then CNC routed and folded and glued into
shape.
We would like to thank our friends, families and sponsors for helping us travel to
and compete in the UK.

After the weight reduction, which was realised for the URE08, the next
key to gain performance was the use of aerodynamic devices. These
generate downforce, resulting in more grip of the tires. Furthermore,
efforts were done to improve the reliability of the car. In the summer of
2014, the team managed to achieve great results at the events in the
UK, Germany and Spain.
