VDCC COVID-19 PLAN RETURN TO PLAY

DOES VDCC HAVE A RETURN TO PLAY COVID-19 PLAN?

At all times the health and safety of our members, participants, coaches, officials, volunteers, families, and broader community is the number one priority. As such VDCC is currently complying with the approved Qld Government Restrictions for Outdoor Sports. As the situation is ever changing with managing COVID19, plans and requirements are constantly updated, in line with recommendations from the Queensland Chief Health Officer. WHAT ARE THE RULES THIS SEASON?

• Checking in/out for contact tracing, for each training session and games via QR Code App on mobile devices. Signage will be placed conveniently around the clubhouse and cricket nets.

• No sharing of drink bottles, towels, or other personal items. • Hand hygiene – sanitise prior, during and after games/training. • All equipment including balls, benches, chairs must be wiped down prior to commencing, and at

the completion of every session/game. • Canteen – social distancing for lining up and cashless payments preferred. • Celebrating success – sorry no HI-5’s or fist bumps, let’s get creative this season! • Spectators and supporters – we love having you at games – maintain 1.5m space between family

groups! CAN WE SHARE EQUIPMENT?

• It is required that all players will need to provide their own helmet and batting gloves. • Bats can be shared if both players are wearing gloves.

COVID OVERLOAD?

We understand that there is a lot of information out there and it can be confusing. We will need your help to maintain compliance and stop the spread. As the season gets closer, more detailed information for our cricket community around game day procedures will be provided. DO WE HAVE A COVID SAFETY OFFICER FOR THE CLUB?

Qld Government Restrictions for Outdoor Sports. outlines the requirement to appoint a COVID Safety Officer. Matt Walter, General Manager will fulfil this role on the club’s behalf. Matt can be contacted via: [email protected].

$5 INSURANCE FEE Cricket Australia (CA) have introduced a one-off Insurance fee across all cricket clubs. All players who register and sign up for the Saturday Competition are now required to pay a $5 Annual Insurance fee. For Valley members, this $5 insurance fee will be included in your junior registration. When you register for any Junior or Master Blasters program, insurance is included in your registration fee. IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE $5 INSURANCE When registering your child online for junior club cricket, please make sure you use your child’s MyCricket ID number. The insurance fee will cover your child if they choose to play Saturday cricket, winter cricket using the MyCricket online registration. You only pay the insurance fee once per year, so to avoid paying the fee again you must use your child’s MyCricket ID number. To find your Cricket ID number, go to Advanced Search, type in your child’s full name and click search.

VOLUNTEER REFUND LEVY Please give a little of your time to help the club. Our club relies on the generous support of our volunteers. The volunteer levy was introduced to encourage parents to take a more active role in the club. The club is always looking for volunteer coaches and managers to assist their team. In recognition of their assistance, a refund volunteer levy of $50 (full season) and $35 (half season) is offered to parents who coach or manage their child’s team for Master Blaster Friday and Saturday Competition ONLY. The levy is reduced if coaches or managers share the role. The levy is refunded at the end of the season.

REFUND POLICY CHANGE FROM FULL TO HALF SEASON If a player registers and pays for a full season and then elects to play only half a season, a refund of half season amount paid minus an administration charge of $10 will be levied. WITHDRAW BEFORE COMPETITION COMMENCES If a player registers and pays and subsequently seeks to withdraw that registration prior to the commencement of the season, a refund of the amount paid minus an administration charge of $20 will be levied. WITHDRAW AFTER COMPETITION COMMENCES INJURY If a player registers and pays and subsequently seeks to withdraw that registration after the season has commenced due to injury, a refund will be issued for the remaining missed games in the season at the rate of $20 per missed day of scheduled play. CHANGE OF MIND No refund will be given if a player registers and the season has commenced and the player is not injured, (that is, NO REFUNDS are issued in circumstances where a player is able to play but simply no longer wishes to play). 2. PATHWAY CRICKET

• All games will be 50 overs per team, played in 2 x 25 over halves. • Played over 2 Saturdays. • Team size 11 players per team, with maximum of 13 players. (Valleys recommend 12 players) • Pitch size 18m. • When you are Out, you are Out. • All teams will be provided with Stand Alone Stumps.

When you register your child, on your registration form, please select either Junior Format or Pathway Cricket so we can ascertain how many players are interested in each format. If you are staying with your team from last season or joining a new team, please discuss with your friends, coaches and managers which format your team will be selecting. Please be aware if there are insufficient numbers to form a team in either format, Katrina Laughton, your Under 12 Age Coordinator, may need to amalgamate players or move a team to have an equal number of teams in a particular format.

PLAYER ALLOCATION TO TEAMS MASTER BLASTER FRIDAY AND SATURDAY COMPETITION ONLY

Our Age Coordinators are assigned an Age Group. When registrations close, they will commence allocating players to teams. The Age Coordinator will try to accommodate all requests, however, there may be circumstances where this might not be possible. How to assist the Age Coordinator with allocating your child to a team: • Families can organise their own team by completing and emailing the Team Nomination Form to

their Age Coordinator. • When completing the online registration form, you may

o Indicate if you wish your child to be placed in the same team as the previous season. o List friends your child would like to play with in a team. o List the school which your child attends so he/she may be placed in the same team

• Make sure your child is in the correct age group when requesting to play with friends. We do not recommend half and full season players to play in the same team unless this is necessary to make up team numbers. Your Age Coordinator will advise which team your child will be in and provide the team’s coach and manager details to you by mid-September 2021. If you have any questions regarding registrations, team allocation or other information, please contact your Age Coordinator from the Junior Management Contact List.
