V-ceph Key Features.

IBM-PC Based Operating System

Vceph is compatible with Ms Windows operating systems. Unlike many other existing programs,no other hardware is required to operate Vceph for PC users. Users can operate the software on

a single PC. In addition, this software is compatible with almost all the peripherals and doesn't

need any special devices.. We recommend 1G RAM and an IBM compatible PC with a Intel@

Core 2 Duo CPU or higher and 100GB hard drive or higher .

Easy Transfer of Patient Data

You might have difficulty in transferring patients' data to another PC. But this is not a problem any

more if you use Vceph by using its powerful database function .

User-friendly Interface on Windows Basis

The familiar user-interface of Vceph allows clinicians to use it quite easily.

Image Enhancement

There are some special functions that only Vceph has. An old and/or obscure Ceph film may

have annoyed you. How about using the unique "Image enhancement" function of Vceph?

Certainly you will feel better with Vceph.

Image FusionTM

Experience the Image Processing Technology unique to V-ceph. You can maximize the effect of

patients consultation by showing them the pre and post-operation images gradually.

Exporting the process of image changes to video clip.

You can save as AVI video clip the process of comparing images made by Image Fusion.

Gallery Format

You can view and print and save the patient images using the Gallery Format(Total number of

formats is 23). Image Format, moreover, is very useful for patient consultations.

Simplified Line Drawing

You can input the Upper/Lower Profile precisely by clicking only Soft tissue landmarks. You can

draw all the lines by point click or mouse drag. In addition to that, V-ceph presents Undo/Redo

function for the users convenience.

Exporting Analysis results to Microsoft Excel format

You can save in the form of Microsoft Excel a variety of measurements and mean values.

Contact Sheet

Set the layout and make several photos into one photo you need. Save the file or use it for your

1 Installation

In order to install V-ceph, Insert V-ceph CD in your CD/DVD-ROM on your PC and run Setup.exe

file. And then enter user name and company name that you already informed us. Then click Next

as below. And the installation will start.

When the installation is finished, V-ceph icon will be automatically generated. Double-click it to run

the V-ceph.

2 Running Program

2.1 Main Screen Layout

When you start V-ceph, the main screen layout is as below, where the registered patient list is displayed. In

this window, you have to set a working directory path, and you can register new patients, or search / sortexisting patient data. Also, it is possible to exchange the information about patient between Users.

2.1.1 Set a working directory path

Set up the directory to save patient information.

To set up directory, choose Set Directory in the menu bar

When the Dialog Box appears, select a working directory path folder where you can save the patient data. In

this folder, mdb files (Patientinfo / Tabinfo) must be included. It is indispensable to run V-ceph.

In Patient Information Window, you can input and manage basic information about patients.

(ATTENTION : You must input Patient No, Name, Birth, Gender, Hellman Dental Age, Classification)

And you can manage the details related to diagnosis in Advanced info

2.3.1 Input Images

Clicking the right button on the location for image input, Pop-Up menu will appear as below. With these pop-

up menus, you can input or edit image. And you can also edit by using Edit in main menu. 1024 X 768

pixel image size is recommended for V-ceph.Although there is no limit to image size, there can be need

for higher PC specifications or slower operating speed for bigger image size. For the smooth operation of

Vceph, we recommend that you reduce an image size before import to Vceph.

) Scan (Scanning Image by Scanner)

Scan and input images with imaging device installed in Windows. Use the Film scanner or Digital cameradirectly connected to your PC. You can use any device compatible to Windows(OS).

With digital camera, 1024 by 768 pixel image size is recommended.

When you input film image with scanner, select UTA Transport orPositive film and input 100~150dpi &

100% scale. If you input 35mm slide film, 400 dpi or higher is recommended.

) Import

Import each image(such as JPG, BMP, TIF, DICOM) saved in hard disk, or Memory Card Reader of Digital

Camera. When you would like to import several images at a time, use Import Manager.

) Image Size Definition

In a situation you get the film with wrong length from a particular X-ray machine, click Set Default Size to

set it as a default enlargement rate. It means you will get the same size of film from the same machine everytime once you carry out manual calibration only one time.(eg. 100% 110%)

In case of problems occurred during using Vceph, use this option to figure out the cause of problem.

As Digital X-ray machine has been prevalent these days, Enlargement rate problem of films between

previous and recent has become an issue. With manual calibration performed one time, you set the

enlargement rate as a default. After the calibration, click Set Default Size and check the box at Default

E. Gallery Format Setting

You can easily make gallery format for consult to your patient or for presentation on the basis of the images

input in Data-Set. You can select gallery format just by clicking it.

When you need your customized gallery form beyond 23 galleries, you can make it easily with Report

system.

On Gallery button click right button on mouse, you can open Gallery Format Setting with popup menu.

I. Change Axis Option

The film is slanted; thus, if the baseline of the tracing is inappropriate, revision can be done with just a simple

click. FH and SN-7 are basically provided as baseline. Based on the two points designated by the user, abaseline can be simply set as well.

With the icon, you can reset the magnified image.

) Pan

With the icon, you can move the location within the magnified image. When the curser changes to

a hand shape, you can move the location as you wish with clicking the left mouse button on.

) Image Enhancement

With the icon, you can adjust the brightness and contrast of film image. This function is necessary

when you trace on the faint film.

) Axis Change

This button allows the modification of the X axis of X-ray. The default value is FH line, and it can

be revised using the Change Axis option.

) Toggle Tracing

With the icon, you can make tracing line visible or invisible.

) Frontal Film

With the icon, you can see Frontal Film on the activated window. With one more click, only tracing

line is shown with the image invisible.

chart changes according to analysis method.

3.2 How to Digitize

You can digitize directly with X-ray Film on monitor screen. Or by using digitizer (tablet), you can input thetracing data drawn in hand.

The length information is accurate when you input the image from scanner at 100% scale. But when you take

a picture by Digital Camera, you have to input image length with Set Image Size function.

With the icon, start Digitizing.

3.2.1 Select a mode

Select Digitize with X-ray Film, then Digitizing starts as below.

* Digitize with X-ray Film : the mode that you trace directly on film image on your monitor.* Digitize using tablet without X-ray film : the mode that you trace with digitizer without x-ray image.

With the icon, you can cancel just digitized point and go back to previously digitized point. Byclicking the right mouse button, you can do the same Back function.

) Cancel

With the icon, you can cancel all tracing and then go out of this tracing window.

) Restart

With the icon, you can trace newly.

) Save & Finish

With the icon, you can stop tracing in the middle of work. In order to complete tracing, add

remained landmarks and profiles in Correction mode.

) Image Enhancement One-click Image Enhancement

With the icon, you can enhance film image with Soft-Tissue outstanding. With

one more clicking, you can reset to the original image.

3.2.5 Drawing Upper & Lower Profiles by Digitizing Points

Even for a person used to computer, it is difficult to draw a curved line on the screen. So, V-ceph 5.5

provides you with easy method for drawing upper & lower profile by digitizing several points.

When digitizing points is finished, the profiles are created automatically as below.

3.2.6 Auto Tracing

Structures such as Maxilla, Symphysis, Mandible etc are drawn automatically during digitizing. You can turn

this function off by unchecking Auto Tracing(Preference

Analysis Setting) option.

3.2.7 Drawing Extra Line

You can draw three extra lines when you need. If no need, just click Finish button on Digitize Window. And

then tracing will be completed.

Whenever you want to input Extra Line again, you can re-start clicking ADD in Correction mode.

* You can draw 3 extra lines as default. If you want, use V-analysis to add other lines.
