We couldn't have done it without YOU! With 108 children, the 70+ youth and adult volunteers were very much needed! From crew leaders, to games, snacks, Bible stories, arts and crafts, decorations and treats for our volunteers, it truly took a village/church!! It was a great VBS, with a great message! The message was conveyed through every act of love, kindness and service. The Lord honored these acts and was a blessing to each and every child. We believe that the seeds of Faith that were scattered will have a life- long impact on our children whenever difficulty presents itself. We all, at one point, will need to be Rescued by Jesus! We love our Lord, and our church, and are so thankful for the message and YOU! Y'all are AWESOME! In Christ, Mrs. Stephanie

HAVE YOU FELT THE CALL TO SHARE GOD’S WORD?

A certified lay speaker serves by preaching the Word when requested by the pastor, district superintendent, or committee on lay servant min-istries in accordance and compliance with ¶341.1 of The Book of Discipline. The role of a certified lay speaker is a specific calling for the ministry of pulpit supply. A lay speaker is a professing member of a local church. He or she completes the required training courses in lay speaking and has been approved by a district or annual conference committee on lay speaking. Lay speakers serve the local church by witnessing to the Christian faith through spoken communication. When certified, the lay speaker may conduct services of worship, preach, and lead study sessions as requested by the pastor or the district superintendent. There are two levels of lay speaking certification: basic and advanced. If you are interested in working toward this certification, our church will be hosting the Northwest District’s lay speaker training on Saturday, July 14. You may contact Rev. Eddie Braswell at 229-733-0203 for more information and/or to sign up for the training.
