PORTLAND, Ore. – Th e Eastern Oregon University volleyball team knocked off its ninth straight opponent Saturday, at Warner Pacifi c College, 3-0.
Th e Mountaineers (9-6, 8-0 Cascade Collegiate Conference) have matched the program’s longest win streak since 2000. EOU beat the Knights for the 10th consecutive times.
One night aft er a victory over Concordia, the Mountaineers moved to 9-6 overall and 8-0 in CCC play with a 25-10, 25-12, 25-13 win over the host Knights. WP falls to 1-7 and 0-7.
EOU sprinted out to a 12-1 lead in set one as Warner Pacifi c was unable to get much going off ensively. Th e Knights avoided hit-ting errors, but the EOU defense amassed 20 digs in the frame while Rebecca Haight put away four kills for the Mountaineers.
Th e Knights started set two much better, staying close early and tying the game at 5-5 aft er a Kaylin Elms kill. Later, a Kristi-na Naff spike drew within 10-8 but Eastern Oregon closed out the set on a 15-4 run to win going away. Haight had fi ve more kills without an error and the Mountaineers hit
for a .522 percentage in the frame.
Set three was competitive early on as the teams traded leads four times. With the score tied at 10-10, EOU went on a 8-1 burst and scored 15 of the next 18 points to secure the sweep.
Warner Pacifi c fi nished with 16 total kills and a .012 hitting percentage, while EOU was very effi cient with 43 kills and a per-centage of .378. Th e Knights did manage to jump for fi ve total blocks compared to four for EOU.
Jacalyn Chew-Dorsey led Warner Pacifi c with four kills, while Brie Schau added three. Kelsey Kurtz had 13 assists and seven digs.
Rebecca Haight swung for 11 kills versus just one error for Eastern Oregon, while Kaitlyn Duncan had a match high 10 digs.

Th e program was reenergized under McLean. In 2007, the Mountain-eers, led by Morehead, fi nished 16-10 overall, and 13-7 in the CCC.
Th e 16 wins was a six game improvement over the 2006 win total, which was her fi rst season as head coach.
Morehead was named First Team All-Conference three times in the Cascade Collegiate Conference and honorable men-tion to the All-NAIA Region I squad during her three years playing at Eastern Oregon.
In that time, Morehead played in 236 games, gathering 812 kills and a .210 hitting percentage. She also had 802 digs, 61 service aces and 79 total blocks.
Morehead was also a member of the 2004-05 Mountaineer wom-
en’s rodeo team that won
the Northwest regional title and competed at the National Colle-giate Rodeo Finals. She fi nished 12th in the nation in barrel rac-ing.
Th e Paulina, Oregon native graduated from Crook County High School in 2001 where she was First Team All-State in vol-leyball as a senior.
Morehead was the EOU vol-leyball assistant coach in 2005, a year aft er she graduated.
