The first Emmy win came early in the evening for Outstanding Achievement in Lifestyle-Program/Special for "Outside with Greg Aiello, Iceland Episode." The Emmy was accepted by Jeff Aiello, Co-Owner of 18THIRTY Entertainment who produces the show. "The Iceland episode was incredibly difficult to shoot due to weather and terrain. So, being recognized for our work with an Emmy for this episode is extra special," said Jeff Aiello. "Outside" is locally produced by 18THIRTY Entertainment and airs nationally across Public Broadcasting Stations in almost 300 markets nationwide. The second win for the night for ValleyPBS and 18THIRTY Entertainment was for Outstanding Achievement for Documentary Cultural/Historical for "Silent Sacrifice: Stories of Japanese American Incarceration." Accepting the Emmy on behalf of PBS was Elizabeth Laval, Executive Producer of the documentary. "I’m humbled and honored to have earned the trust of the Japanese American Community to help tell their heartbreaking and intensely personal story. This recognition belongs to all those who suffered in America’s concentration camps and beyond," said, Elizabeth Laval. "Silent Sacrifice is exactly the kind of story that ValleyPBS is good at telling. Honoring the memory of what happened by explaining a mistake of the past is the best way to ensure it doesn't happen again," said Karen Musson, ValleyPBS Board Chair.     VALLEY PBS WINS TWO EMMY AWARDS
