Validation Testing on Configuration

Validations for FSD & RD

• Each requirements mentioned in RD should have a reference in FSD.

• Group Review / Walk Through required for understanding both RD & FSD

• All the review records should be updated with the comments from the respective stake holders

• FSD should contain details about • Functional Description• User interface• Regression area• Database references

Database validations

• Take the required Standard Build as base for any configuration setup

• Run the configuration script on the Standard build installed by following the Installation Guide ( IG)

• Follow the instructions as per the IG and report any error to the DEV team for clarification

• On successful DB installation , we should be able to navigate through records across the tables

Configuration mainly deals

• New Field Addition• Renamed Field• Deleted Fields• Extension of Fields ( height, width)• Data type changes of fields ( text , list, radio button..etc)• Label Changes• Form Changes• Sections Alignment• Lookups• Custom Codelist• UI changes

Validation for New Fields• Appearance in Proper Sections • Field Position ( height, width)• Data type (Var char, number, clob etc)• Field type (text, text area, list box etc)• Auto Population / Auto generate• Proper Messages validations• Boundary value verification ( min & max value)• Code list Verification• Regression Areas ( navigations of the field across the applications)• Appearance in search , Advanced Search criteria ( if applicable), Audit trails,

Navigation history, Adhoc Query, Report Generation• Check for reference to old values including data type, field type, messages

• Check for New, Deleted and Renamed field names in Custom Security tree

Validations for Configured Screen

• Configured Screen should be same as User interface screen.

• Check for the additional fields, deleted fields and renamed fields with its data types and its verification

• Check for position DML buttons.• Alignment of form and sections .• Alignment of Buttons, Tabs, Links, hyperlinks.• Check for Navigation History, Record counter,

Add and View links in Add To favorites in the configured screen

Validations for Tree

• Minimize and Maximize tree

• Validate the tree context

• Refresh Tree

• Loading Please wait messages

Validations for product module• Copy product• View product• Delete details• Edit product• Product batch update • Registration wizard for more than 1 product• Summary tab• Product search result tree• Tree label display• Modification of locked products.

Above validations should be tested for both device and non device product, Active and passive product

registration Above validations should be carried out for all 4 registration sets, CMS

countries, Member countries, with verification on and off. Active and passive registration, Apply local update to registration

Validations for Regupdate module

• Mutual Update – Copy to new MU, Distribute, Edit, View, Delete details, Summary tab

• Local Update – Add Question, Edit Question, Apply, Edit, View, Delete details, Summary tab

• Reg. update search result tree.• Tree label display as per the requirement• Action details screen – All configured screens should be

present and values entered in configured fields should retain the values.

• Add, delete, Update, Replace and All options to be checkedThe validations for Distribute, Apply should be done for more than one registration set.
