SENIOR REGENT’S
MESSAGE
Hi from your Senior Regent, Bobbie.
In January every thing went off really
great. We had the Winter Ball and it was
lovely. Fun was had by all.
In March we will have the Green Cap D/D
with Tijuana Taxi band. Come on out and
support and enjoy the ceremony.
I would like to go back to New Years Eve
D/D. It was wonderful. Our Governor
stepped outside the box and went with
something new. Thanks to the cooks, serv-
ers and all who helped.
See?......
Change can be good!!! Beef Wellington
was yummy.
Looking forward to a bright New Year
and all the new things and changes com-
ing.
Remember, its all about the kids and
seniors.
Moosettes of the month are all who help
prepare and serve our meals. Great Job.
Hunks of the month are all the men who
cook and work behind the line. Thank you
each and every one.
Have a blessed year.
Bobbie Olivar
Senior Regent.
GOVERNOR’S MESSAGE
Well January flew by and here it is
February. We had a good month . The WOTM
put on a great meal with their Winter Ball. The
Pasta Extravaganza was successful. The Crab
Feed was a success. Everyone enjoyed themselves and there was a raffle
with a 32in. TV as the main prize.
In February we have our Valentines Day D/D which is actually on
Feb.14th. The price is $13 for Roast beef dinner. The band will be Catfish
Hunter. On Feb.26th is Women's Appreciation. Ladies please sign up
and attend so we can show you how much we do appreciate you. On
Feb.28th is our Annual Chili Cook-off. This is a great opportunity for us
to show the community what we are made of. Tara and her crew are
putting in a lot of work to make this a success. We are always looking
for sponsors and Chili cookers. See Miss Pittman or the office if you are
interested.
I want to remind everybody that we are a private organization. If you
bring a guest ,you MUST sign them in. They are allowed to come as
guests three times. On the third time we ask them to join. That is an
International rule . Why should someone get the same benefits without
being a member. While we encourage spouses to join, they fall under a
different rule and are allowed with their spouses anytime. However
they are not allowed to purchase drinks in the Social Quarters or the
Fellowship Bar. No non member is allowed to purchase drinks. Also
remember to show your card when you purchase a drink or come to a
function in the lodge.
On the subject of funerals, we have had a lot of members pass this past
year. As a courtesy the Lodge provides some food to help out. We also
have people that call our members to bring something and help out the
family. We do not provide everything. The families and friends usually
bring in food also. We do alleviate some of the pressure on the family.
We give you a place to hold the memorial, we serve the food, we pro-
vide coffee tea and water, and we clean up afterwards and send any
extra food home with the family if they wish to have it. Please be cour-
teous to the people making the phone calls. It is not an easy task. If you
would rather make a cash donation let the caller know and leave it at
the office for them to pick up and they will purchase something for you.
Everybody should be supportive of every function put on in this Lodge.
And not all functions are going to turn out the way we plan but I am
100% convinced that nobody in this lodge is discouraging others from
attending. Lets focus on making this the Friendliest
Place in Town. My Super Moose of the month is Don
Hayward. He helps out on a Wednesday night dinner
and was a big help for New Years! Thanks, Don, your
hard work is appreciated. TRAVIS O’NEAL

From the Administrator’s Desk:
With winter well underway, the Lodge has started to work on spring
cleaning. Mike Giusti cleaned the kitchen. Gary Hammonds has replaced
all the emergency lighting. This is just the beginning of the little projects
we as Moose members need to accomplish.
Check your Calendars: On February 7th ,we are having a “One Stop Moose Shop” start-
ing at 9A.M. here at the Yuba City Moose Lodge .This is open to the public so invite a
nonmember and encourage them to sign up. On the 8th, you are invited to the W. O.T.M.
RED DRESS TEA sponsored by Rita Zenkus. Women don’t forget to sign up for the An-
nual W O T M Appreciation night on the 26th
. We also have Chili Cook-off at 4P.M. on
the 28th. This event is open to the public. These are just a few of our functions this
month.
Looking into March, sources tell me that the Green Cap ceremony scheduled for March
14th will have the Tijuana Taxi for your dancing pleasure. Sunday March 15th ,will be
the Mighty 190 Moose Legion Celebration at Lindhurst Moose Lodge, and the District 4
Meeting will be at Lindhurst also on Sunday March 22nd. Then off to RENO for Mid-
Winter Convention starting the 26th to the 29th of March. The men will be cooking the
Easter Eggs for Butchie’s Pool on March 31st. Have fun! See you next month.

Clothing Collection For The Homeless
Please bring any donations of clothes for warm weather, socks, shoes,
blankets, sleeping bags, etc, to be distributed by Rose and Tim
Straka, Stormy Anderson, Debbie Odom, and Harold Sanchez. We go
to the river bottom and give the items to those we meet in need. In
January, besides the donated items, we distributed 48 hot meals, and
Rose donated 5 pepper sprays to homeless women from her Damsel
line.Thank you Stormy, Harold, Debbie, and Tim for your help.

CAMPING CLUB REPORT
We just returned from a great camping trip on the Yuba River off of Hwy 49. Great weather, awesome food and su-
perb camaraderie! This was our last trip for the year for our Moose Camping Club and what a fun year it was! From
the scenic beauty of the coast to awesome lakes and rivers along with great fishing, way to much food, and really good
company. Send in your ideas for where we should head next year. We start up again in March after the snowbirds
return and the weather warms up.
