Catholic Funeral and Cemetery Services Did you know you can pre-plan your Funeral

services with the Diocese of Sacramento? Do you have questions about cremation? Altar Sever Training We will be having a training for

all children who are interested in joining the Altar Serving Ministry. The requirements for altar serving: at least 3rd grade, have received First Eucharist, are mature enough to follow directions and sit on the altar during Mass. This coming first Friday, July 7th, at 6:30pm the Knights of Columbus and the Elk Grove Squires will be honoring our Holy Mother Mary with their monthly Living Rosary in our Parish Rosary Garden in the front of the church. Candles will be provided. We welcome all parishioner to attend. After the rosary, please join us for First Friday Mass at 7:00pm and Adoration in the church.

Saint Joseph Parish/Saint Vincent de Paul St. Vincent de Paul Society News If you are looking for a way to

serve your neighbors we invite you to join us. You would be so welcome! St. Vincent de Paul Society meets the first Tuesday of every month. Our next meeting is August 1st, at 7:00pm. in the Renwald Room. We will not be meeting in July this year!

The Meal Ministry at United Methodist Church needs volunteer’s meal helpers for the 3rd and 5th Saturdays of each month. This is a great opportunity to serve others with less in our community. Please contact Edgar Flores, 916-509-9999, or [email protected].

Pre-Baptism Preparation Class

Our Pre-Baptismal Preparation classes are held once a month. Our next class will be July 11th. We ask parents who are planning to baptize their infant, to please contact the parish office by phone or stop in during business hours. There are several requirements to be met to have your child baptized, and we would like to assist you with the process.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) ARE YOU SOMEONE OR DO YOU KNOW

SOMEONE WHO… •Has expressed interest in becoming Catholic? •Was baptized Catholic as a child but has not

received the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist?

We offer an opportunity to come together in a small group to learn more about our faith. Weekly sessions focus on the teachings of Jesus and the Church and prepare individuals to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist during the Easter season in 2018.

Grief Support Sessions St. Joseph's Ministry of

Consolation will be offering seven weekly grief support sessions on Wednesdays, beginning July 12th until August 23rd. We are present for those grieving the loss of a loved one or other significant loss in one's life. This ministry takes place in the context of faith, and is caring, supportive, and compassionate. Welcome Back to our new Deacon Dennis Merino Let us welcome Deacon Dennis Merino, to St. Vincent de Paul to serve among us.

He was raised in Southern California and graduated from the University of Southern California School of Architecture. In 1970 he moved to El Dorado Hills and served his community as a retired volunteer Lieutenant for the El Dorado Fire department for 13 years. In 1992, he was ordained by Bishop Quinn and served at St. John the Baptist, Folsom, for 17 years. He was a Catholic chaplain for the California State Prison of Sacramento (New Folsom Prison) for 15 years. For 25 years, he was an independent Toy and pet product inventor. During his spare time he enjoys Fly-fishing and Radio Control Airplanes. Please keep him in your prayers as he servers our Mission Church.
