AN EVENING WITH THE SISTERS

Please join our parish in an evening of Dinner, Dessert, and Discussion with the Sisters of Mary, Father Simon and our Seminarian. Bring your questions, along with your family and friends!

Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 6pm in the Sacred Heart Gym

If you would like to host a table for your family and friends, please call the parish office 575 763-6947. Hosting a table includes decorations, place setting and dessert for one 8x10 rectangular table. Dinner and tea will be provided.

We have two great and big welcomes this week in our parish!

The first welcome goes out to the Sisters(!) who will be here this week leading our Vacation Bible School (VBS). Welcome to Sr. Martin Therese and Sr. Peter Joseph!

Please note, it is still not too late to get your child(ren) registered for the vacation bible school. After the 10:30 Mass today (June 12) come over to the school, or even before the VBS starts on Monday morning. It would be horrible for you or your friends to miss getting your children to this incredible and super-fun week of activities with the sisters. Just ask anyone who was here last year and they will tell you how great it was; and this year the VBS is even bigger and better!

Special things for this vacation bible school week include: 1) there will only be Mass at 8:10AM each morning. There is not the regular Mass and confession schedule. This Monday through Friday (the 13th-17th) there is only the one Mass each morning at 8:10AM which of course is part of the VBS but to which all are welcome.

2) We will be having a special evening and dinner with the Sisters on Tuesday night (June 14th) at 6pm here in the Sacred Heart gym. All are invited and welcome. This will be a great opportunity to hear from the Sisters, and to hear also about the life of being a sister, to ask questions etc. All of our youth group (confirmation students, etc.) are required to be there. Please don't miss this opportunity. How often do we get to have young, dynamic, wonderful sisters with us?

Now, the other big welcome we have is to our seminarian Mr. Tim Meurer. Tim will be with us for two months here on his summer assignment. He is a great guy and you will really enjoy getting to know him. Tim and I are from the same home parish and go way back. Please pray for him and his vocation. Look out for things this summer that Tim will be doing here in our parish, such as talks, trainings, retreats, etc.

ELEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME JUNE 12, 2016

Distribuon is held every Saturday of the month. Please

come at 8:30 am! This is a truly beauful ministry living

the Gospel and really helping many in need here in our

community.

We are in need of volunteers to help!

If you are interested, please call Rosie Buchan at

(575) 309-5040 so she can give you further informaon

and to inform you of a me to meet to help prepare for

our distribuon, or call the parish office and leave your

name and phone number so that we may contact you.

Our next distribu on will be May June 18, 2016.

The Food Pantry is in need of the following items:

Canned Vegetables,

Canned Meats,

Canned Fruit,

Cereal,

Mac & Cheese,

and Lunchbox Snacks

Any help will be greatly appreciated. You can place items

in the baskets in the back of the church or bring them into

We will resume distribuon of clothing and blankets during

the winter months.

Adult Bible Study AM session

Every Wednesday morning, starts at 9AM sharp. We are doing

the great Bible Timeline, a journey through the whole Bible.

Please come join us in this awesome journey! This is an

incredible way to grow in your faith and to learn about the

whole Bible. Please do not miss this opportunity! Everyone is

welcome!

Every Wednesday evening at 6:00PM sharp located in the

school building, come and learn more about our Catholic faith

and the Bible. All are welcome! The Bible study is the same as

in the morning, but allowing those who work or have school to

come. Hopefully one of the mes (either 9AM or 6PM) works!

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke

Once when Jesus was praying by himself,

and the disciples were with him,

he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?”

They said in reply, “John the Bapst;

others, Elijah;

sll others, ‘One of the ancient prophets has arisen.’”

Then he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

Peter said in reply, “The Christ of God.”

He scolded them

and directed them not to tell this to anyone.

He said, “The Son of Man must suffer greatly

and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the

scribes,

and be killed and on the third day be raised.”

Then he said to all,

“If anyone wishes to come aHer me, he must deny himself

and take up his cross daily and follow me.

For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it,

but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.”
