    1 Chemical PlantOperator

    HSC (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics subjects)/SSC with aminimum of 60% of marks in aggregate PLUS ITI certificate in

    Chemical Plant Operation / Fitter / Electrical / Electronics.

    The ITI/NCTVT qualification should be either of the following :-

    1. ITI/NCTVT of 2 years durationOR

    2. ITI of one year duration plus one year relevant experienceafter completion of the course.

    Candidates who have passed HSC (10+2) or equivalent with minimum60% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics canalso apply for the post of Chemical Plant Operator. *Candidatesapplying for Cat-II - Fitter may also be considered for Chemical PlantOperator.

    Age limit: 18 years minimum and maximum 22 years as on 01.01.2013.

    The upper age prescribed above is relaxable up to a maximum of 5 years for the candidatebelonging to SC/ST category and 3 years for the candidate belonging to OBC category.

    Relaxation in the upper age limit of 5 years for persons who had ordinarily been domiciled inKashmir division of the state of Jammu & Kashmir during 1st January 1980 to 31st December1989. A certificate from the District Magistrate in the Kashmir division within whose jurisdictionhe had ordinarily resided or any other authority designated in this behalf by the Government of J &K to the effect that he had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir division during the aboveperiod is required to be submitted.

    Age relaxation in the upper age limit of 5 years shall be admissible to children/family members ofthose who died in the 1984 riots.

    Physical Standards: Minimum Height: 160 cms. Minimum Weight: 45.5 Kgs.(Relaxable if the candidate is otherwise medically fit)

    Total duration of the Training : Two years.

    Stipend During Training: Rs. 6200/- p.m. for 1st year and 7200/- p.m. for 2nd year. One timebook allowance of Rs.1,500/-.

    Written Examination/Selection : Short listed candidates have to appear for a WrittenExamination. Option to answer either in English or Hindi will be given at Written Examination andInterview. Candidates should come prepared to stay in Mysore at their own cost for 2 days forWritten Examination/Interview. Written Examination of one hour duration will be conducted andwill comprise of objective type (multiple choice) questions. The syllabus for said examination will bebased on subjects at SSC/HSC/ITI level as the case may be. Those candidates qualifying in theWritten Examination shall be short listed for interview on the same day/following day.

    Final selection and ranking will be on the basis of performance of the candidate in the interviewand no weightage will be given for marks scored in the written examination. The decision of thisResearch Centre in this regard is final.

    Other General Details:

    Scope of Training: Selected candidates will be given training at Mysore on various aspects of therelevant trades, as per prescribed syllabi of each trade, for meeting stringent requirements ofBARC.

    Grade after successful completion of Training:

    Upon successful completion of training, the trainees will be considered for absorption in one of the

    following grades depending on their performance during the period of training and interview to beheld at the end of the training. Based on the performance during the training additionalincrements may also be given on appointment.

    Additional Financial Benefits :

    In addition to the normal pay and allowances viz., House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance etc.,as admissible under the Rules, the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) employees are entitled toattractive financial benefits under various incentive schemes.

    Bond: Selected candidates will have to execute a bond to complete the training and serve BARC orany of the constituent Units of DAE, if offered appointment after the training, for a period of 4 yearsafter absorption. A trainee who fails to complete the training or serve the Government for 4 years ifoffered appointment will be liable to pay to the Government a sum equivalent to entire aggregateamount of stipend received by him/her during the period of training along with interest there on.

    2) In case the response is high, this Research Centre reserve the right to restrict the number ofcandidates to be called for Written Examination, to higher percentage of marks in therequisite qualification and/or to conduct screening test of the eligible candidates. Thedecision of the Research Centre will be final and binding.

    3)The Vacancies shown above are provisional and subject to variation. The filling up of thevacancies indicated in the advertisement is also subject to the approval of competentAuthority and may not be filled up if decided otherwise in terms of the orders issued fromGovernment from time to time.

    4)The nature of duties to be performed by the above categories involve working in round theclock shift duties in operational plants and areas.

    5)The candidates appointed will be governed by New Contributory Pension Scheme ofGovernment of India.

    6) Period of experience as prescribed in the advertisement will be determined with reference tothe last date of receipt of applications.

    7) While all candidates irrespective of community/group will be considered against URvacancies, against community/group quota vacancies only candidates belonging to thatcommunity/group will be considered. For this purpose, SC/ST/OBC candidates shouldfurnish Caste Certificate from competent authorities.

    In case of OBC, the certificate should specially indicate that the candidate does notbelong to the persons/sections (creamy layer) mentioned in Col.3 of the Schedule of the

    Government of India, Department of Personnel & Training OM. No. 36012/22/93-Estt.(SCT)dated 08.09.1993 and modified vide Government of India, Department of Personnel &Training OM No. 36033/3/2004-Estt.(Res) dated 14.10.2004 and other subsequentamendments and the certificate should be in the prescribed form circulated by Ministry ofPersonnel and Training, Public Grievance and Pension, Department of Personnel and

    Training, Government of India. The OBC Certificate should not be more than one year old ason the date of application.

    The candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC should clearly indicate the same in theapplication (even when applying for UR vacancy) and should attach proof of the same in thespecified format failing which they will be treated as unreserved and subsequentlyrepresentation for change of community status will not be entertained.

    8) SC/ST candidates called for interview which will be held in Mysore will be paid TravellingAllowances as per rules. However, travelling allowance is not admissible to those SC/ST

    candidates who are already in Central/State Government services, Central/StateGovernment Corporation, Public Sector Undertakings Local Government Institutions andPanchayats. The reimbursement in the above cases will be restricted to the fare in respect ofbalance distance exceeding 30 Kms, both ways subject to production of ticket/tickets. Ifconcessional Rail/Bus tickets are available, the reimbursement will be limited toconcessional return fare only.

    9) Persons working under the Central /State Govt./Public sector Undertaking should submittheir applications through proper channel. They may, however, send one advance copy ofthe application along with enclosures as detailed given below.

    10)All certificates, which are not in either English or Hindi, need to be translated preferably toeither English or Hindi and same shall be attested.

    11)The Candidates selected against this advertisement may please note that place of posting willbe at the discretion of the Competent Authority and subject to availability of vacancy and arelikely to be posted at BARC, Mysore/Mumbai, but are liable to serve in any part of India andin any constituent units of the Department of Atomic Energy.

    How to apply:

    1. Application should be submitted in the proforma given overleaf.2. Application should be submitted on good quality white A-4 size plain paper and should

    be in conformity with the format prescribed in proforma given overleaf. Candidates areadvised to ensure that the application is legible, preferably typed in English or Hindionly.

    3. The Candidates Name, Address with Pin code, Date of Birth should be written legibly inEnglish in bold capital letters, even if a Candidates fill-in application in Hindi.

    4. The Application and the outer cover should be superscribed as Application forStipendiary Trainees Category-II Discipline ____________________ againstAdvertisement No. 01/2012.

    5. Only one application should be submitted for one post. If candidate wishes to apply formore than one discipline [eg. Cat-II (Mech) and Cat-II (Process)], separate applicationshould be submitted for each discipline.

    6. Completed application should be sent to the Administrative Officer-III, BhabhaAtomic Research Centre, Post Bag No. 01, Yelwal Post, Mysore-571 130 soas to reach not later than 01.01.2013.

    7. PHOTOGRAPH: A recent passport size photograph should be affixed on the right handtop corner of the application. One additional copy of the passport size photograph

    should also be sent along with the application with their name written on the back side ofthe photo.

    8. ENVELOPE: A self addressed unstamped envelope (size 110 X 200 mm) should beattached to the application.

    9. COPIES OF THE CERTIFICATES: Candidates should submit along with theirapplication ATTESTED SINGLE COPY of certificates of:

    a) Educational qualifications/experience and technical qualifications (supportedby appropriate marks sheet indicating the subjects offered at the examination).

    b) Date of Birth/Proof of age.c) SC/ST/OBC certificates in the prescribed proforma applicable to Central

    Government employment.d) Disability Certificate issued by appropriate authority regarding physical

    disability (applicable to persons with disability).e) Proof to the effect that they have been affected by 1984 riots.f) Certificate regarding domiciled in Kashmir Division from 01.01.1980 to
