Having continuously operated in the Kurdistan Region ever since, QANDIL’s main priorities of work are construction and infrastructure activities, refugee and IDP initiatives, health, water, sanitation and hygiene, and capacity building. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JOB DESCRIPTION The main responsibility of the Child Social Worker is to protect children in Darashakran Camp from situations of abuse, neglect and other forms of maltreatment. He/She will focus on ensuring the social, physical, psychological and emotional well-being of children and youth within the center. To ensure children harmed or at risk of being harmed are identified and receive individual support the Child Social Worker will conduct all steps to safe guard the protection of children and youth and lead the case management process for those vulnerable to abuse, exploitation, neglect and violence and any other protection risks. The job will entail multiple daily sessions with beneficiaries, group meetings as well as coordination meetings with relevant service providers, and the maintenance of child and youth protection and PSS cases. The Child Social Worker is tasked to understand a variety of factors related to the child, the family, and the community to balance the child’s safety and well-being. He/She will have the responsibility of conducting assessments, action plans, direct service provision through counseling, referrals and follow ups for any assigned case load of children and youth. In addition, the incumbent must complete extensive documentation, maintain case files and perform other types of administrative tasks. He/She will also be responsible for mainstreaming Child protection guidelines in all relevant activities within the center, including training, reporting, and internal capacity building of workshop participants and colleagues. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Programming Maintain an oversight of all strategies, policies and plans that impact children and youth. Provides specific support for children and families through case management services and psychosocial activities and also participate in the assessment, design and implementation of these activities Plan and create new recreational activities (psychodrama, art therapy, group discussion…) in cooperation with colleagues in order to mainstream child protection guidelines and increase children’s well-being. Contribute to the development of child friendly activities Planning and shaping activities of the Child Friendly Space in close supervision from the project coordinator
