If you have taken a walk around campus you can see the leaves changing color. It is beautiful but shows that colder weather is right around the corner. Therefore, it is important to maintain healthy habits. Please remind yourself of a few good COVID-19 practices to keep yourself and others safer during this pandemic. Midterms are next week. Time management and good study habits are tools you will need to have good results. Work Like a Laker A 2-week, fully virtual, professional development and career conference featuring multiple tracks: PreConference Workshops - Interactive, hands- on sessions where attendees will build career materials, practice introductions and interviews, learn how to dress for success, and map out a career fair strategy Professional Development Sessions - Professional development workshops and panel presentations addressing current and pressing topics related to workplace and graduate/professional school issues Industry Sessions - Information sessions designed for attendees to engage with employers and industry professionals to learn more about career pathways, industries, and specific companies Virtual Career & Internship Fair – Virtual career fairs are online events that allow employers and students to meet in virtual environments such as through video chat rooms or voice calls. We will be working with Career Fair Plus to host this fair. Students can download the Career Fair Plus app (iOS, Android) in preparation. How Students and Alumni Participate: - Review all events/sessions on the website - Register for events/sessions they are interested in (registration in Handshake) - Attend sessions, learn & grow - Use what they have learned during the conference at the Fall Virtual Career & Internship Fair (here’s how to prepare for the fair) TRIO STEM staff wearing their TRIO masks. Many times in our busy lives we neglect it and let it overwhelm us. The University Counseling Center has made available a series of self-guided mental health workshops for you to attend. As an added incentive, we will be offering a free TRIO mask to anyone who watches a video and sends us an email with 3-4 sentences about the video. Send your email to [email protected]. FAFSA opened on October 1st for the 2021-2022 academic year. While it is due March 1st, it is better to

A 2-week, fully virtual, professional development
