DIGITAL GIVING (TEXT-TO-GIVE) OPTION Digital Giving options are now available. If you’re getting The Messenger electronically, follow the link to watch a video on how to Text-to-Give works. This is one of our easiest methods for (E)asy-Giving electronic do-nations. Text a dollar amount to 84321. If it’s your first Text-to-Give donation, you can search for the church or the system will use your geographical location and phone number to suggest churches nearby (within 20 miles). After choosing “First Christian Church Hopkinsville”:
1. Set up a payment method for Text-to-Give. Exist-ing donors can log in to their profile to select a previously used payment method.
2. After setup, send an amount to 84321 to give any time or set up a recurring payment.
Remember, you DO NOT have to change the way you give, but now, you will have more options.
SYMPATHYChristian sympathy is extended to Saundra Kilijian, Jenny Moss, and Spencer Kilijian and families in death of their husband, father and grandfather, Bob Kilijian on Tuesday, October 29th.
Christian sympathy is extended to Kelsey Cobbs and family in the death of her grandmother, Carolyn Guth-rie, of Oklahoma City.
FINANCIAL SECRETARY POSITION
Some of you are aware that our own Jane Wells has an-nounced her retirement at the end of the year. We are looking for a good candidate to fill this 20-25 hour position beginning in January, 2020. Jane will help train this can-didate as needed (and she is not leaving the church by any means). If you know of someone who might be a good candidate, please contact Linda Ledford ([email protected]) or Rev. Wade Miller ([email protected]). Applications and job descriptions will be available in the office. (And, if you don’t know someone, pray that God will lead the right person to us.)

I am still basking in the wonder of Autumnfest! It was a wonderful day of fun and fellowship, and you just can’t get a more lovely fall day. But my greatest joy wasn’t my costume or the lack of trips to the ER, it was the genuine joy and welcome I saw our members sharing with the community! The food was great! I was wowed by some of the costumes and trunk setups. Our firefighters came and shared the excite-ment of the kids. And we got to meet a few people. My hope is that if you see some of our neighbors or new families at church or in the community, that you continue to show genuine love and hospitality (and gratitude for their “risking” that first visit even though they couldn’t possibly be sure what to expect). This is also a great time to invite friends and neigh-bors to the many special worship services and events between now and Christmas Eve. As we spend the next few weeks getting some of the administrative pieces together (budget, nom-inating, etc.), I would invite your special prayers for the church. Pray for our leaders (both current and those we are approaching for new positions). Pray for our church family (especially those who are deal-ing with loss during what is usually a joyful time). Pray for those who are not yet sitting beside us in worship but who need to hear the good news of God’s grace and love for their lives. Pray for our community, that we might think beyond ourselves for the needs of all our children and families. Pray for those who have at-tended our new “Discover FCC Disciples” class, that they may find a place where they belong in our church family. And as you pray…prepare! Miracles are coming!Blessings,Rev. Wade
WARM THE HEART COAT DRIVE Warm the hearts of others in need. FCC is collecting clean, used coats, hats, scarves & gloves. Please

“Devoted to Generosity” Stewardship Campaign
Many thanks to all those who turned in their Estimate of Giving Cards for 2020. As we prepare for our 2020 Budget, these cards are a great help to make sure we are
being responsible with your gifts. If you have not yet turned in your pledge, please do so this week if possible. A special thanks goes to the 43 families who were able to increase their giving for the year. Your gifts will help make sure we move forward with our vision as we continue to grow disciples of Jesus Christ by sharing God’s love in Relationship, Reflection, and Response. We would like to make a special thanks to those who are tithing or who “Took a Step Up” towards tithing. (Please contact the office if you forgot to check the box and would appreciate being listed.) Special gratitude goes to: Janice Bruce, Foster and April Cotthoff, Jim and Sandy Cunningham, Steve and Sheila DeMoss, Len and Claudia Hale, Rick and Lori Harper, Roy and Christi Keller, Wade and Theta Miller, Karen Moore, Curtis and Diane Pyle, Tom and Cheryl Steiner, Steve and Pat Sunderland.

EXCITING NEW CURRICULUMIn January we are going to begin a new Children and Youth curriculum that has fostered growth and transformation in churches where it has been implemented. We are very excited about sharing what we have learned about it with you. All parents and volunteers who feel called to engage our children are encouraged to attend these two infor-mational meetings. This program has enlivened entire congregations and will compliment our Wednesday Night Worship. Everyone is welcome to come and learn more.
