Dear Invitee,

Since 16 June 1991, the Day of the African Child has been celebrated in memory of those children killed

and the courage of all those who marched on the streets of Soweto, South Africa in 1976 demanding

a better education. Today, 36 years later, access to quality education is still elusive for many African

children either because of school fees, lack of educational materials and or underfunded schools.

Therefore, in an effort to raise quality of education in Africa and to celebrate the Day of the African child,

on behalf of United Wisdom of Africa Foundation (UWAF), I cordially invite you to the upcoming Benefit

Gala & Concert 2012, to be held in Brussels-Belgium, Saturday, 16th June 2012, from 18.00 PM. The Gala

will draw attention to the contemporary lives of the African children.

UWAF is a young dynamic non-profit organization based in the Netherlands, committed to supporting

talented and bright underprivileged children in Rwanda to access quality education. We strongly believe

in creating a sustainable environment in which Africa’s bright and talented minds are nurtured, stimulated

and retained within the continent to contribute to the sustainable development of Africa. For more

The Gala will be honored by H.E. Archbishop Desmond Tutu, (through video link). We have invited

Inter-Governmental Institutions Representatives, Members of the European Commission, African

Ambassadors, Multinational Companies linked to Africa and Civil Society organizations/actors

as well as Artists from African descent.
