Hello Parents: Welcome to March 2020! We had so much fun last month in the classroom as we learned all about colors. We loved that you all participated in our dress-up days (even if the adorable outfits didn’t last that long…). We enjoyed celebrating everyone’s first valentine’s day and we are so grateful for all the treats we received. This month we will be learning all about weather! We will talk about wind, clouds, sunshine, rain, and probably snow if this cold weather keeps up! We are hoping to finally be able to get outside more and go for some walks as well. We are so excited to officially welcome Theodore Wolfgang Winget this month! He was born October 4th of this year and has two older siblings already at the center. Welcome Theo!!!

Reminders: March 30-April 2: We will be having parent-teacher conferences. A sign-up sheet will be available so we can schedule a time most convenient for you. The conference will last roughly 30 minutes and we will discuss your child’s progress, any questions of yours and any goals we might want to set.

If you haven’t already, please bring family photos (mom, dad, siblings, grandparents, pets, etc) so we can make our family tree. Also, we would like to post pictures above each child’s crib! Please, email or text your favorite photo of your little one so we can have them developed and put them about their crib.

As always please make sure you are labeling all items, washing hands upon entering the room, and letting us know if your child won’t be able to attend class.

Young Toddlers at Battle Dear Parents,

This month we are going to be really busy. We will start with a Dr. Seuss Birthday

week. Then move on to a unit on wind and the things it can move. Kites are next, and last but not least, we will be picnicking with teddy bears.

I have a fairly large collection of kites and I love to take the kids out into the “field” to

fly. So we will be doing that quiet often as the wind allows. Please feel free to borrow kites to take flying in some of our awesome local parks. My favorite is the park next to the Marina on the Chickamauga Dam but several of the River Walk parks are also ideal for kite flying.

Preschool at Battle Dear Parents,

February was a great month! Two weeks were devoted to “Love and Friendship”. Some of the children learning experiences included: -Dictating letters to the teacher for their favorite person and taking a mini field trip to the office to mail the letters, expressing what it mean to love and care about a person and eating friendship treats for snack.

-The children learned about a number of famous people and the importance of eating good nutritious food, brushing their teeth daily and regular yearly visits to the Dentist.

March Themes: Dr. Seuss, St. Patrick’s Day and Spring.

PRESCHOOL PARENT CONFERENCES - March 16 through March 20.

Again, thank you for your support and dedication to our classroom and school. The donations and contributions you make enhances our teaching and the children’s learning experiences. Working together we are MOLDING YOUNG LIVES FOR THE FUTURE!

For the month of March, we will be discussing colors. The Older Toddlers will explore colors in their indoor and outdoor environments. Weather permitting, we will take walks to observe all the colors we see in nature. We will also be experimenting with what happens when certain colors are mixed. There will be a lot of finger-painting involved, meaning a lot of messy children, so please remember this as you dress your child in the mornings. Also included in our color unit will be a show and tell each week as well as fruit/vegetable tastings. More information will be posted or sent on Kinderlime for each week.

Dear Families, February was full of fun :) We learned about bones and skeletons and owl pellets and X-rays. We went on the climbing wall in P.E. We talked about talking, and worked on our communication. We read together, drew together, created together, and played together. We’ll be having conferences the first week of March; check the sign-up sheet on our door. Thank you! -Anna and Tyler

Hello all!

I hope everyone had a great February as we look forward to March and

warmer weather!! Thank you for being understanding with our half day so that

both sites could come together! Staff and Administration had a very

productive In-Service on February 17. On another note, we have had a series

of illnesses and ailments over the past few weeks. Parents, please continue

to wash your and your child’s hand upon any entering classrooms. We have

siblings in various so it can get a little tricky keeping sickness out but if we all

work together, we can minimize the spread. If you have any questions or

concerns, please feel free to email me.

Toddler 1 at Brown Hello T1 Family!

February was a fun and friendly month. With my friends learning self-helping skills and enjoying our time with friends, for the month of March we will talk about colors. Toddler One will discuss colors indoors and take walks and explore colors within the environment. Also please remember to sign up for parent teacher conference, the sign up sheet is outside the classroom door.

Thank you to all parents and friends for helping with the toddler one friendship party. Also T1 would like to say Goodbye to Emerson Rainey and Woodrow Dodson as they move up to Toddler 2. We will miss the Rainey and Dodson Family.

Dear Toddler Two Parents,

I have had so much fun helping out in the Toddler Two classroom, and I am happy to report that all the

children seemed to really enjoy learning about polar animals, friendship, Valentine’s Day, dental health, and transportation during our time together.

I also bring great news that Ms. Kathy will be retuning as lead teacher on March 2nd. Again, thank you

for all your patience and understanding during my time as the lead teacher. I look forward to seeing your children again in Preschool One.

Preschool 1 at Brown Dear Preschool One Parents,

February was a great month! We all got to know our feelings better and learn about love. Thank you for bringing valentines to share with the class, the kids had a great time

receiving and giving those. We also learned all about different types of vehicles and transportation. They learned about so many different types of vehicles!

In the month of March we have lots of fun things to learn about. Spring begins and we will learn all about it. We will learn about flowers, rain, rainbows, and everything else spring

brings. We will also learn about Dr. Seuss and St. Patrick’s Day. Spring is always a fun time to learn about new things and the children will love to learn all about it!

Dear Preschool 2 Parents,

This past month we enjoyed learning about being a good friend and having our friendship party. I am excited to say that I have noticed the students practicing the “Good Friend Qualities” in the classroom! Thank you for all who donated supplies and/or stopped by to make our party so special.

March is a month full of fun as we discuss Dr. Seuss/rhyming words, Colors, and Spring.

Just a reminder: Please make sure that your child has a full set (shirt, pants, underwear, and socks) of weather appropriate change of clothes that fit in their cubbies, in case of accidents. It is a good idea to have 2 extra pairs of underwear and pants.

If your child wears pull-ups at naptime they need to be the easy open sides, thank you for your help in this.

Dear Pre-K Downstairs Parents,

We want to thank everyone who contributed and/or attended our “Fairy Tale Tea Party.” It was a lot of fun. We could

not have gotten through it without all of the help! Thank you so much to everyone who brought treats and surprises

for us! There was so much, and we definitely felt loved!

March looks like it is going to be an exciting month! This month, we will be learning about Dr. Seuss, weather,

rainbows, and spring. We have a lot of fun activities planned! Focusing on Dr. Seuss provides us with so many literacy

concepts to discuss. Weather and rainbows provide us with fun science concepts to explore.

Dear PreK Up Parents and Family,

What a fun February we’ve had! Folktales, Fairytales, Friendship, a fun dress up party …great learning is a wonderful thing!

Moving right along closer to Spring, PreK Up has a full schedule for March. Upcoming lessons will include butterflies, Springtime, birds, and more.

PreK Up has a new teacher assistant! Help me welcome Cheyanne Migliaccio. We are so excited to have her with us!

We will be having parent/teacher conferences this month. Times and dates will follow soon.

As the weather will probably continue to be unpredictable, always be sure to send your child with appropriate clothing so they can enjoy the outdoors. And always have a complete change of clothing to keep at school.

This month we were again reminded of how supportive our parents are, and we’re grateful. Thanks for all you do for us!
