Basic Liquid Concealer
Tutorial
Even if one has clear skin and does not need
any foundation, putting on some concealer is
still a must. It covers the smallest flaw or
imperfection to make your skin glow and
naturally look fresh and smooth. The least
opaque but, the concealer that gives off the
most natural effect, is the liquid concealer. If
you need minimal coverage then this is the
way to go.
To start off, treat your face like a clean canvas. If you are using liquid foundation,
apply concealer after. Don't cover your entire eye with concealer because it will
appear way too cakey. Just apply it on the hallow of your dark circles and your
eyelids and gently blend. After blending, again apply the highlighter on the hallow
of your dark circles. A highlighter has light reflecting off the area putting a
brightening effect on your eyes.
Also, to brighten up your eyes more, apply a bit of highlighter on your brow bone.
This will instantly brighten up those tired eyes. If you did it right, your concealer
should look natural. In fact it should look like you do not have any concealer on at
all.
Quick Recap:

Basic Eyebrow Tutorial
Eyebrows make or break your face. Very short,
very thin, very thick, or even very bushy
eyebrows change your whole face proportion.
First step in shaping your eyebrows is to identify
your natural brow shape and work with it to
achieve a natural look. Some of the basic
eyebrow shapes are round, angled, soft angled,
curved, and flat. Each has its own effects such
as round eyebrows which makes the face
appear rounder, the angled which gives off a
youthful effect, soft angled which appears to be
more subtle and feminine, the curved eyebrow
gives off a professional look, and flat eyebrows make the face look more oval. In finding your natural brow shape, first, using a pencil, you have to measure where
your eyebrows start. Now measure where your arch or eyebrow curve should
naturally be, it should line up to your iris. Then, measure where your eyebrow
should end. Mark the area using white eyeliner.
Next, eliminate the excess hair by drawing over
it, this way you get a preview on how your
eyebrows would look like without plucking them.
When you’re satisfied with how your eyebrows
would look like, follow the white eyeliner guide
and pluck the excess eyebrows of the marked
area.
Once done with the plucking, wash off the white
eyeliner and do a spot check if ever there is still
excess hair. Then, fill it in with an eyebrow
powder using an angled brush. It is highly
Recommended that if you have dark hair go three shades lighter and if you
are blonde make it two to three shades darker.

How to Apply Liquid Eyeliner
Applying liquid eyeliner is quite trickier than using an eyeliner pencil. First of all, a
wrong curve or a shaky hand can smudge the whole look. Here are some tips on
how to apply liquid eyeliner and accentuating your eyes.
I recommend using L’Oreal Lineur Intense Carbon Black or Mac Boot Black Liquid
Eyeliner. For starters, both have felt tips which are highly recommended for first-
timers.
To prep up for applying liquid eyeliner, you can
look down into a mirror so that you can see the
full range of your lash line and take out your
eyeliner and hold it like a pen or pencil while
writing. The best way is to position your hand
holding the eyeliner like you’re about to write on
your lash line.
Some start working on their liquid eyeliner from
the inner to the outer eye corner and vice versa,
I suggest that you start from the middle all the
way to the outer eye corner. But, whichever manner it may be, it still depends on
where you are comfortable in.
In applying the liquid eyeliner, it is suggested to
first lay it onto the lashes and little by little make
tiny lines until the area is covered. Once you have
the outlined your upper eyelid lashes, you add a
few strokes near the outer eye corner to make a
relatively thick illusion. It really helps if you have a
light hand in applying to avoid very dark and
smudgy results.
5
Not all liquid eyeliner applications produce the same results for everyone. It’s also
best to try everything out, such as having a flick at the end or a thick lining, and
find which one accentuates and matches your eye shape.

Contouring with a Pencil Eye Liner
With the variety of eye liners in the
market, there’s pencil, liquid, gel, and
cream, there’s really no telling which is
better than which. It all depends on
which one you’re comfortable with and
which one gives off the effect you want
to achieve. Eyeliner is all about line quality and
defining the eyes. The line should appear
thinner from the start of your eyes, but
gradually thicker as it advances towards
the corners of your eyes. Some girls just directly apply the eyeliner, however I find it
hard to maneuver around because the eyelids have many folds and skin textures
that you need to inevitable smooth it out to have an even surface for the eyeliner.
One cool tip before putting on eye liner is to create an even smooth patch of skin
for easier application. One way of doing this is by getting a Q-tip and gently
pressing it onto the skin. Applying concealer and foundation beforehand also helps
in keeping the eyeliner last longer.
It is also recommended that instead of having a one-stroke method, it is
recommended to use smaller strokes to create a solid fluid line. This way, mistakes
6
are minimal and very fixable because you are in control of the line. Smaller strokes
are better for people with shaky hands. It also helps create beautiful line quality,
which is the thick and thinness of the line. The volume of it can really make a
difference. If you apply eyeliner with just one constant thickness, it will look very
boring, but if you apply it in smaller strokes and create a thinner line in the start of
the eyes, and thicker on the way back it will create more depth and volume.
As for the direction of application, you should start from the middle to establish the
thickness of the eyeliner. The easy part is to apply the thin eyeliner in the front, but
the hardest part is to measure how thick the eyeliner should be in the back.
Quick Recap:
Use smaller strokes to create a solid fluid line. This way, mistakes are
minimal and very fixable because you are in control of the line.
Tips on Applying False Eyelashes
Eyelashes makes one’s eyes look bigger
and fuller, and, most of the time sensually
inviting. For women who don’t have
naturally long lashes, false lashes are a
must. Here’s a guide on how to put on false
lashes and still make it look natural.
First of all, pick the type or length of false
eyelashes you want. Make sure that the
lashes you have chosen fits your eyes.
To start off, apply a thin layer of liquid eye liner. This covers any space or small
gaps if ever the false lashes move or don’t fit perfectly. After which, it is
recommended to curl your natural lashes and apply mascara. You won’t be able to
do this once the false ones are put on.
When you have prepared your natural lashes,
place a drop of glue, preferably Duo Surgical
Glue, on the lash container. Use the back of
tweezers to apply a thin layer of glue to the
lash band, concentrating on the ends. Apply
just above the lash line and wait 20 seconds
or so for the glue to become tacky. Then, use
7
the back of the tweezers to push the lashes on and down so that it is close to the
lash line.
For finishing touches, add a line of liquid liner
over the lash band to cover any glue and
make it look seamless.

How to Make Your Eyes
Appear Brighter and
Larger
Too much work and stress can really put down
a beautiful face. Here’s a helpful guide to make
your eyes appear brighter and larger to pull off
a fresh, clean, and on-the-go look.
Begin with putting on foundation, concealer,
and powder on your face. Take a white or pearl eyeliner and line the lower rim of
your eyes. Pearl eyeliner is less intense looking than white because it looks more
natural. You can use either and test which works best for you. You can take a Q-tip
and clean off any excess white eyeliner. Also, if it forms on your lower eyelids and
cannot get them all off, we can cover them with mascara.
Once you’re done with the eyeliner, use a light eye-shadow, preferably silver, over
your entire lid. This gives your eyes color. Also avoid dark colors because dark
colors advance while light colors recede. Now take the same silver eye-shadow and
apply it on your upper brow bone. If you need to, this is a good time to shade in
8
your eyebrows. A basic rule of thumb, three shades lighter for dark haired and three
shades darker for blondes.
Line your eyes. Make sure the line
is very thin. The look we are trying
to achieve is a very bright clean
look. Then, take your eyelash
curler and curl your lashes.
Now, here is where the magic
happens. Many girls who use white
eyeliner tend to not apply mascara
on their bottom lashes. The trick
is, when you apply black mascara
on your bottom lashes, this helps
open up your eyes.
Quick Recap:
Take a white or pearl eyeliner and line the lower rim of your eyes.
Use a light eye-shadow, preferably silver, over your entire lid to accentuate
your eye color.
Apply very thin eye liner and black mascara on your bottom lashes to help
“open” your eyes.
How to Achieve Smokey Eyes
Having smokey eyes has been a fashion trend for quite a while. From totally dark to
soft and subtle touch, smokey eye makeup has definitely got into everyone’s to-do
list. Some of the celebrities popular for sporting different variation of smokey eye
makeup are Katherine Heigl, Eva Longoria, Kim Kardashian, Fergie, Keira Knightly,
Beyonce, and of course, Avril Lavigne.
Like in any makeup session, first off is to prep the face with a fresh foundation or
face powder. Now take the eye shadow sponge applicator with the eye shadow, for
this tutorial I recommend using Lancome Color Design Sensational Effects Eye
Shadow Smooth Hold Metallic Designer. Find where your eyelid crease is and outline
and fill the crease using the eye shadow. Stay within the eyelid area.
9
Now, to create the smokey look, take a clean eye shadow brush and blend the eye
shadow line you have made. Blend in by following your natural eyeball socket. Make
sure to emphasize the outer eyelid area so that the outer corner of the eyes would
appear accentuated.
Then, apply another layer of the same shade on the lower part of your eyelid. This
helps darken the smoky eye. Again, take the brush and blend.
Now take the eyeliner and line your entire eyes. Line as close as you can to the lash
line and inner rim of your eyes. Don’t worry if it looks sloppy because we are going
to smudge it. Now take the eye shadow sponge applicator and smudge the eyeliner.
Once you’re done with the eyes, darken your eyebrows. Dark eyebrows give your
smoky eye look give off a more dramatic effect. Then, take your eyelash curler and
curl your lashes, then apply the mascara on the top and lower lashes.
Quick Recap:

and outline and fill the crease
using the eye shadow.
Take a clean eye shadow brush
and blend the eye shadow line
you have made.
Apply and blend another layer of
the same shade on the lower part of your eyelid. This helps darken the smoky
eye.

Achieving the Perfect Red Lips
Aside from having seamless makeup, a look wouldn’t be complete without the
perfect lipstick to match with it. Here’s a guide to achieve a perfect red lips using, of
course, the classic and timeless red lipstick.
First of all, make sure that your lips are clean, conditioned, and moisturized. It’s also
good to exfoliate your lips if it’s dry or chapped so that it’ll be smooth when you
apply the lipstick. Then, you get a red cream lip liner, preferably a MAC Red
Enriched Lip Liner, which is better for blending and it also lasts longer, and line your
lips. Apart from outlining your lips, it is also recommended to fill in your lower lip
with the lip liner to make the color last longer. Also, when lining your lips, make
sure that you open your mouth so that the corners will also be covered.
Once you’re done with the lip liner, it’s now time to use your lipstick. To match the
liner and achieve beautiful red lips, it is recommended to use Classic Dame Mattine
Lipstick.
To make the blend very precise, you might want to
use a lip brush. You can leave it matte or add gloss. If
you want to add gloss, you can use red or clear gloss,
and add it from the center.
The last trick is putting concealer around the lips.
This makes the lips pop out or make a natural pout.
Aside from red, you can also use a variety of lipstick
colors as long as the colors complement each other.
Quick Recap:
Use a lip liner to both line and fill your lips as
well as the corners to
make sure that the
colour stays longer.
Use matte lipstick and blend with the lip liner. If you
want to add gloss, you can use red or clear gloss, and
add it from the center.
Apply concealer around the lips to achieve a natural
pout

As we all know, Lady Gaga is making a huge impression in the music industry. She’s
fresh, innovative, and talented. This tutorial will help you replicate her makeup in
her Poker Face music video.
To begin with, cover your the dark areas of your face with a Bee-Luscious Concealer
in Light Peach, foundation, and face powder. Blend it away using CVS Essence of
Beauty Brush. Finish it off with AfterGlow Mineral Powder in Ivory which also helps in
setting your foundation.
Once your face is set, use Anastasia Medium Ash Brow Duo to keep your eyebrows
light. Then, prep your eyes with a primer, preferably Urban Decay Primer Potion,
which accentuates colors and makes the eye-shadow last longer. Using Revlon
Illuminance in Twilight, use the silver color and apply it on your eyelids, which will
bring a bright undertone. Now taking NYX Trio in Ultra Chic, apply and blend a silver
color on the ball and on the corners of your eyes.
Using Lise Watier Quads in Les Carbons, apply the gray shade on the outer pockets
of the eyes. Then, bring down the color to the crease. Make sure to blend
everything evenly using the
MAC 217 brush. Re-highlight
the balls of your eyes and
bring the color towards your
brow bone.
When finished blending the
eye-shadow, using a
Maybelline Ultra Liner, line
your eyes. Then, apply
shimmering silver eye shadow
on your inner eye corners,
near the tear ducts.
Starting from the outer corner
of your eyes, apply a dark
gray eye shadow on your lower lash line, and stop midway. Taking a black eye liner,
line your lower eyelids and lash line.
Then, take some false eyelashes and make sure that they fit your eyes. If they don’t
fit, trim them down and adjust the fit. Now, run the lash over a thin strip of glue and
wait 20 seconds for it to become sticky. Take the lashes, bring it in as close to the
lash line, and put it on the middle of your eyes and adjust it accordingly. Secure it in
place and slowly pat it in.
12
Again, take your eyeliner
and reline your eyes to
even everything out.
Then, curl your lashes to
help hold your real lashes
with the false one.
Generously apply
mascara to fuse the
lashes together.
Using a dark eye shadow,
soften the eyeliner by
feathering the line. Don’t
forget to feather and
apply it on the inner
corners. Using Clinique Bronzer in Sunkissed, apply it on areas where sunlight hits,
nose, chin, cheeks, and forehead. It is also recommended to apply on the sides of
the nose to add more definition.
To finish it off, using Nars Turkish Delight Lipgloss, just let it glide on your lips. It has
a beautiful pink color that matches that of Lady Gaga’s.
