Gratitude lists and lists of goals can also help you have a positive attitude and take control of your life.

Using Lists To Help You Sort Your Life Outpositivetranceformations.com.au

One of the fundamental principles of hypnotherapy is that changing your

thinking is vital if you want to change your life.

Too often, we have bad mental habits and a lot of this negative thinking can

overflow into stress and then into other bad habits and problems.

A lot of people don’t realise how bad thinking habits and mental disorder can

have such a negative effect on their lives until they get a problem such as

anxiety or depression.

Nearly all of the problems that people hope to have fixed via hypnosis stem

from negative thinking and mental clutter – yes, even smoking and weight

loss!

How many times have you turned to chocolate, a bottle of red wine or a

packet of cancer sticks when you feel overwhelmed and like your life is

chaotic?

Beating the chaos can help to address these problems.

Lists are fantastic ways to get organised and to help you overcome

some of those feelings of chaos in your life. They can also help you

master stress, which is the root cause of a lot of problems.

Writing things down and listing them helps you get a grip on things – even the biggest task and biggest problem seems smaller when you can write it

down.

I’m thinking of a woman I know. Not that long ago, she was feeling overwhelmed by having three

deadlines at work as well as a number of social and family commitments that

had to be honoured.

She had learned to recognise the imminent signs of too much stress and

potential panic.

Most of her self-talk went along the lines of “I can’t do all this – I don’t know how I’m going to fit it all into one day – I don’t think I’m going to be able to cope

with all of this.”

That loop of self-talk was getting worse and worse, and was threatening to

send her into total panic – which would have meant that she wouldn’t have got the work done that she needed to, in a

bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Obviously, in this case, booking in for a session of hypnotherapy was out of the question in a busy day like this, but my friend needed to find a way to master

the stress and the pressure.

Lists were the answer.

When she wrote down exactly what she had to do, it didn’t seem like quite so

much.

There were only four tasks that simply had to be done and couldn’t be

reprioritised or delegated.

After all, she realised, her children were old enough to cook dinner for

themselves, so if she had to bring work home and work late, the family would

still be able to eat.

And some of those deadline jobs didn’t take as long as she thought they would, and once one was out of the way, the

rest didn’t seem so daunting.

This was a case of using a to-do list and prioritising the items on it, and then

getting them done in order of priority

Prevent stress and anxiety by sorting out your life with smart to-do list.
