Using Integrated Assessment To Improve Performance & Retention Of New Secondary Teachers
PREASSESSMENT OF TEACHER EDUCATION CANDIDATES (TECS) IN THESE AREAS:
Knowledge about technology integration (TPACK)
Gathering TECS understanding of Universal Design for Learning, serving English language learners, and literacy
Common Core curriculum (CCc) & curriculum development
Understanding of and use of Instructional Strategies (ISLES)
Relative weaknesses/gaps in our graduates’ knowledge & skills
OUTCOMES: CHANGES IN PRACTICE:
Working with Friday Institute to enhance technology use/integration
Revising/realigning content in teacher education courses
Provide all stakeholders intensive training in CCc & develop curriculum for use in schools
Develop ISLES for use with three levels of TECs
Design & implement modules for use in methods’ courses
