Your Thoughts

In a world of chaos, war, crime and heartache, what is the one thing people desire most?Peace is what the world desires and works so hard to achieve. The third piece of armor is, “your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.” Christians have what the world wants and must be prepared to give it to them. The Gospel of peace is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the fact that Jesus Christ died for the whole world to pay the payment for each person’s sin. The true Gospel is the fact that a person must call upon the Lord Jesus Christ to save them from their sins in order to receive the gift of salvation. Read Ephesians 6:10-20. The Gospel shoes are used both defensively and offensively. As defensive armor, it provides protection for your feet which are the foundation of a soldier. Your feet allow you to withstand against that attack of the enemy. As offensive armor, we have the message of peace that the world is so frantically searching for. We have Gospel shoes because we are to go walking carrying this message to the whole world.

THE BIBLE WAY TO HEAVEN

Realize That God Loves You. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).

The Bible Says That All Men Are Sinners. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory to God.” (Romans 3:23).

God’s Word Also Says That Sin Must Be Paid For. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

The Good News Is That Christ Paid for Our Sins. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8).

We Must Personally Pray and Receive Christ by Faith as Our Personal Saviour. The Bible Says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13).

We must learn, study, practice, and run

drills to prepare us to share the Gospel.

We Have Marching Orders The order from the King is to GO! This word implies action and a move in direction. Go means to move from one place to another in order to do something. You are proceeding in a specified way to have a specified outcome. The marching order is the Great Commission. This was the last words of Christ to His church. What is the church? It is the people, not the building. This commission was given to you and I individually not the building and its leaders. The Great Commission is given in five parts that make up the whole. We will look at them in the order Christ gave them. The first two were given on the day of His resurrection, the third sometime during His forty days on earth in Galilee, and the last two on the day of His ascension.1. We are sent by a divine authority- John 20:19-21

a. It begins with God and not a need or a burden. We have authority from the Creator of the universe to go and tell people.

2. We are to be witnesses- Luke 24:46-48 a. Before we can witness we must be witnesses.

We must have experienced something ourselves before we can tell others about it.

3. We do not go alone- Matthew 28:16-20 a. We are to go into all the world, preach the

Gospel, and teach all nations. As we go He is always with us.

4. There is no one or no place that is off limits a. Mark 16:15. We go every where and to every

creature. 5. We are to march off the map with the Gospel

a. Acts 1:8. This is how we are to systematically carry out His plan.

Intentional means to be done with purpose. It carries the idea you are doing something deliberately. It is a premeditated plan you are ready to carry out. In order to be intentional you must prepare, plan, and be specific about what you are going to do. Whether it is a school project, homework, a task at work, or even your degree, you must be intentional about completing it or it will never get done. Being intentional needs to be done on a daily or weekly basis. Are you intentionally sharing the Gospel? Being intentional with this piece of armor means you and I get up each day prepared with a plan to fulfill the Great Commission. This means we get up each day and plan a way for us to share the gospel. We are prepared and will be specific on how that will be carried out for that day. This was so important to Christ that He gave His very life for it. It should be just as important to us as His followers!

We Must Master this Piece of Armor We must prepare ourselves with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Preparation means the act or operation properly fitting one for a particular purpose, use, or service. There are three offensive weapons, of which this is one, and we must master each one if we stand a chance in this battle. What do soldiers do while there is no battle? They practice, learn, study, and conduct drills. We must do the same when it comes to giving the Gospel to other people. We must learn, study, practice, and run drills to be prepared and ready.We Must be Intentional About Using this Armor
