The design of the cover strip is available in the colour and material – glass black. Also new is the flush mounted movement detector for Busch-priOn® in the glass

black design, glass white, plastic white gloss and stainless steel. It can be used singly or with other Busch-priOn® mod-ules. Practical – because one does not need to search for the light switch and one is greeted with light only when entering a dark room. Which additionally saves energy. Immediately available are also the flush mounted actuators which can be integrated in the system. The modules are conventional single universal dimming actuator, single switching actuator and switching actuator.

The KNX Fan Coil room thermostat for stand-alone operation.The Fan Coil room thermostat with display is a room thermo - stat for ventilator convectors or conventional systems for heat-ing and cooling. This option allows rooms to be fully air con-ditioned. The temperature can be adjusted to the individual’s personal feeling of well-being. The fan stages can be selected via buttons. The channels of the Busch-Universal dimming actuators can be control-led and parameterised fully independently of each other, or also switched in parallel via jumpers. This saves costs, because the dimmer can be individually designed and thus offer precisely the power per channel that is needed. As a result, the actuator itself is capable of detecting the position, type of load and parallel switching. If desired, both versions can also be adjusted manually via the local control on the unit.

SmartEnergy is the intelligent route to greater energy efficiency. This initially involves the active exchange of current consump-tion data that are sent via data highways or via radio frequency. Due to the direct link to the supplier of energy this will in future also include current electricity rates and pricing forecasts. EnergyData Gateway or MUC (Multi Utility Communication) are terms for a new communication standard that permits the exchange of information between end customers and network operators independent of the actual devices. The EnergyData Gateway family enables the recording and transmission of data of one or more electronic smart meters (eHz).

Hadi Teherani, star architect and creative head of the “Hadi Teherani AG” designer team, founded in 2003, is well-known for innovative and emotional design of products and interior design. He has successfully created office furniture, lamps, sanitary objects, floor and wall coverings, shops, exhibition stands and a television studio. For Busch-Jaeger he developed the LED flush mounted light system, Busch-iceLight, which in combination with the matching switch design sets new standards in the interaction of light and architecture.

Mr. Hadi Teherani, what important role does light play in architecture for you? When compared with photography, light is the deciding trans-mission medium of architecture. The atmosphere of the archi-tectural appearance depends largely on the light scene – from natural as well as artificial light.

With your concept for the flush mounted light system, Busch-iceLight, you have added a new orientation to the classic flush mounted box. What was the idea behind this design? With the aid of new technology the new system supplements the current, traditional options for flush mounted cabling for switches with an innovative, minimised lamp series for wall and ceiling. Without the need for the space of conventional lights this makes possible a very specific light situation that is integrated in the architecture – emotionally tuned or for orientation and information.

Also with regard to the question about material you have pursued a specific goal, conveying emotion with your design.The material here plays a central role since it decisively char-acterises the guidance of the light and the atmosphere. Transparent acrylic of this strength generates a very profound effect and fascination that is comparable with a brightly shining jewel. Not only the light attracts the attention but also the lamp.

Busch-iceLight is an integral, modular system. In your opinion, wherein lies the advantage for architect and user?The existing systematics of the switch ranges is merely an extension within the normal dimensions and installation processes. The function of “light” can therefore be called up everywhere with the same effort where a box or a switch is to be installed – even at a later point in time.

Modern living space is going through a change. How can the Busch-iceLight be integrated in new concepts or spe-cific applications?My primary aim as a designer is not the creation of a unique object, but a system that entices one to develop one’s own creative ideas – in relation to the respective architecture. Busch-iceLight opens the field for new ideas that can be integrated in any situation and adapted to any change.

Keyword “Energy efficiency”. What does the future hold and how can be of assistance?Energetic and environmental issues are becoming increasingly important in construction. That is why this future-oriented LED technology has taken a decisive step, with further steps to follow. Efficiency can only be conveyed via emotion.

The emotional relationship is what matters. Mere function has no charm – unless it is missing.

The light is first switched on via the press of the button – and than with movement in the room. The detection range is 360° with an operating range of 7 meters. This can be extended with de-vices connected in parallel.
