AgilePLM Data

Migrated Data • Legacy Systems in scope: PDM1, ICCS, eMARS, MCMS • Only ‘Current’ data will be migrated from Legacy Systems • “Current” is defined as:

• Currently shipping product – Items, BOMs, Documents, Specifications, Related files, Attachments, PAFs,

Compliance Data, AML etc. – Will include all items in a part series if not obsolete

• Manufactured items in inventory but not necessarily on current product

• Only the Current revisions will be migrated

Data Not Migrated • NO items will be moved that are in a Pending Obsolete/End of Life

(EOL) state prior to Jan 1, 2009

• Exception is if the item is on current Bill of Material (BOM)

• NO items will be moved that are in an Obsolete state prior to Jan 1, 2010

• Exception is if the item is on current BOM

• Change Orders in the System CANNOT be migrated

• Any pending changes during the freeze periods will need to be migrated manually

Clarifying Terms In AgilePLM

• Released – Items that are transferred to the ERP system (not Preliminary)

– Change Orders that are transferred to the ERP system

• Subscription – User can subscribe to an Item to be notified of all changes to the item

• Item/Part/Document – Item can be a part or document

• Manufacturer vs. Supplier – Manufacturer primarily used to control a part manufacturer

– Supplier primarily used the control supplier access to AgilePLM content

Clarifying Terms in AgilePLM (cont.)

• Manufacturer Part Number vs. AML

– AML is a list of approved manufacturers that can be used for a part.

– The manufacturer part number is the number provided by the manufacturer for a specific part on an AML.

– Often there is only one manufacturer part number listed on an AML for an MSI part number, leading them to be used interchangeably although they are very different.

– Infrequently, there can be multiple manufacturer part numbers listed on an AML.

Summary

• AgilePLM provides a single process and platform enabling product introductions. This single process and platform streamlines business processes; improves engineering and supply chain productivity; enables design anywhere, build anywhere; and improves quality and data integrity.

• Retired systems include: WebNIR, ICCS, MCMS, and EMARS.

• Systems still available include: SAP, COF, GEMS, and GIM.

• AgilePLM process flows include what work needs to be done (both internal and external to the tool), which groups perform activities, and the links between processes.
