1.1 Children and vulnerable people safety• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8

years and above and persons with reduced physical,sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experienceand knowledge if they have been given supervision orinstruction concerning the use of the appliance in asafe way and understand the hazards involved.

• Children between 3 and 8 years of age and personswith very extensive and complex disabilities shall bekept away from the appliance unless continuouslysupervised.

• Children of less than 3 years of age should be keptaway from the appliance unless continuouslysupervised.

• Do not let children play with the appliance.• Keep detergents away from children.• Keep children and pets away from the appliance when

the door is open.• Children shall not carry out cleaning and user

maintenance of the appliance without supervision.

1.2 General Safety• This appliance is intended to be used in household

and similar applications such as:– farm houses; staff kitchen areas in shops, offices

and other working environments;– by clients in hotels, motels, bed & breakfast and

other residential type environments.• Do not change the specification of this appliance.• The operating water pressure (minimum and

maximum) must be between 0.5 (0.05) / 8 (0.8) bar(MPa)

• Follow the maximum number of 13 place settings.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced bythe manufacturer, its Authorised Service Centre orsimilarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

• Put the cutlery in the cutlery basket with the sharpends pointing down or put them in the cutlery drawerin a horizontal position with the sharp edges down.

• Do not leave the appliance with the open doorunattended to avoid stepping accidentally onto it.

• Before any maintenance operation, deactivate theappliance and disconnect the mains plug from thesocket.

• Do not use high pressure water sprays and/or steamto clean the appliance.

• If the appliance has ventilation openings in the base,they must not be covered e.g. by a carpet.

• The appliance is to be connected to the water mainsusing the new supplied hose-sets. Old hose sets mustnot be reused.

2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

2.1 Installation

WARNING!Only a qualified person mustinstall this appliance.

• Remove all the packaging.• Do not install or use a damaged

appliance.• Do not use the appliance before

installing it in the built-in structuredue to safety manner.

• Follow the installation instructionssupplied with the appliance.

• Always take care when moving theappliance as it is heavy. Always usesafety gloves and enclosed footwear.

• Do not install or use the appliancewhere the temperature is less than 0°C.

• Install the appliance in a safe andsuitable place that meets installationrequirements.

2.2 Electrical connection

WARNING!Risk of fire and electricshock.

• The appliance must be earthed.• Make sure that the parameters on the

rating plate are compatible with theelectrical ratings of the mains powersupply.

• Always use a correctly installedshockproof socket.

• Do not use multi-plug adapters andextension cables.

• Make sure not to cause damage tothe mains plug and to the mainscable. Should the mains cable needto be replaced, this must be carriedout by our Authorised Service Centre.

• Connect the mains plug to the mainssocket only at the end of theinstallation. Make sure that there isaccess to the mains plug after theinstallation.

• This appliance is fitted with a 13 Amains plug. If it is necessary tochange the mains plug fuse, use onlya 13 A ASTA (BS 1362) fuse (UK andIreland only).

2.3 Water connection• Do not cause damage to the water

hoses.• Before connection to new pipes,

pipes not used for a long time, whererepair work has been carried out ornew devices fitted (water meters,etc.), let the water flow until it is cleanand clear.

• Ensure that there are no visible waterleaks during and after the first use ofthe appliance.

• The water inlet hose has a safety valveand a sheath with an inner mainscable.

WARNING!Dangerous voltage.

• If the water inlet hose is damaged,immediately close the water tap anddisconnect the mains plug from the

mains socket. Contact the AuthorisedService Centre to replace the waterinlet hose.

2.4 Use• Do not put flammable products or

items that are wet with flammableproducts in, near or on the appliance.

• Dishwasher detergents aredangerous. Follow the safetyinstructions on the detergentpackaging.

• Do not drink and play with the waterin the appliance.

• Do not remove the dishes from theappliance until the programme iscomplete. Some detergent mayremain on the dishes.

• Do not sit or stand on the open doorof the appliance.

• The appliance can release hot steamif you open the door while aprogramme operates.

2.5 Service• To repair the appliance contact the

Authorised Service Centre.• Use original spare parts only.

2.6 Disposal

WARNING!Risk of injury or suffocation.

• Disconnect the appliance from themains supply.

• Cut off the mains cable and discard it.• Remove the door catch to prevent

children and pets to get closed in theappliance.

3.1 Beam-on-FloorThe Beam-on-Floor is a light that isdisplayed on the floor below theappliance door.

• When the programme starts, a redlight comes on and stays on for theduration of the programme.

• When the programme is completed, agreen light comes on.

• When the appliance has amalfunction, the red light flashes.

The Beam-on-Floor is offwhen the appliance isdeactivated.

When AirDry is activatedduring the drying phase, theprojection on the floor maynot be completely visible. Tosee if the cycle has ended,check the control panel.

ECOMETER

The ECOMETER indicates how theprogramme selection impacts energyand water consumption. The more barsare on, the lower the consumption is.

indicates the most environmentallyfriendly programme selection for anormally soiled load.

4.3 Indicators

Indicator Description

Rinse aid indicator. It is on when the rinse aid dispenser needs refilling.Refer to "Before first use".

Salt indicator. It is on when the salt container needs refilling. Refer to "Be-fore first use".

Machine Care indicator. It is on when the appliance needs internal clean-ing with the Machine Care programme. Refer to "Care and cleaning".

Drying phase indicator. It is on when a programme with the drying phaseis selected. It flashes when the drying phase operates. Refer to "Pro-gramme selection".

5. BEFORE FIRST USE1. Make sure that the current level of

the water softener agrees with thehardness of the water supply. Ifnot, adjust the level of the watersoftener.

2. Fill the salt container.3. Fill the rinse aid dispenser.4. Open the water tap.5. Start the programme Quick to

remove any residuals from themanufacturing process. Do not usedetergent and do not put dishes inthe baskets.

After starting the programme, theappliance recharges the resin in thewater softener for up to 5 minutes. Thewashing phase starts only after thisprocedure is complete. The procedure isrepeated periodically.

5.1 The salt container

CAUTION!Use rough salt designed fordishwashers only. Fine saltincreases the risk ofcorrosion.

The salt is used to recharge the resin inthe water softener and to assure goodwashing results in daily use.

How to fill the salt container1. Turn the cap of the salt container

counterclockwise and remove it.2. Put 1 litre of water in the salt

container (only for the first time).3. Fill the salt container with 1 kg of salt

(until it is full).

4. Carefully shake the funnel by itshandle to get the last granulesinside.

5. Remove the salt around the openingof the salt container.

6. Turn the cap of the salt containerclockwise to close the salt container.

CAUTION!Water and salt can come outof the salt container whenyou fill it. After you fill thesalt container, immediatelystart a programme toprevent corrosion.

5.2 How to fill the rinse aiddispenser

3. Remove the spilled rinse aid with anabsorbent cloth to prevent too muchfoam.

4. Close the lid. Make sure that therelease button locks into position.

You can turn the selector ofthe released quantity (B)between position 1 (lowestquantity) and position 4 or 6(highest quantity).

6. PROGRAMME SELECTION

6.1 MY TIMEUsing MY TIME selection bar, you canselect a suitable wash cycle based onprogramme duration, ranging from 30minutes to four hours.

A. Quick is the shortest programme(30min) suitable for washing a loadwith fresh and light soil.

B. 1h is a programme suitable forwashing a load with fresh and lightlydried-on soil.

C. 1h 30min is a programme suitablefor washing and drying normallysoiled items.

D. 2h 40min is a programme suitablefor washing and drying heavily soileditems.

E. ECO is the longest programme (4h)offering the most efficient use ofenergy and water consumption forcrockery and cutlery with normal soil.This is the standard programme fortest institutes.

6.2 EXTRASYou can adjust the programme selectionto your needs by activating EXTRAS.

ExtraPower

ExtraPower improves the washingresults of the selected programme. Theoption increases the wash temperatureand duration.

GlassCare

GlassCare provides special care for adelicate load. The option prevents rapidchanges in the wash temperature of theselected programme and reduces it to 45°C. This protects glassware in particularfrom damaging.

6.3 AUTO SenseThe AUTO Sense program automaticallyadjusts the wash cycle to the type ofload.

The appliance senses the degree of soiland the amount of dishes in the baskets.It adjusts the temperature and quantityof water as well as the wash duration.

When the appliance is in setting mode,the bars of the ECOMETER represent

available settings. For each setting, adedicated bar of the ECOMETER flashes.

7.1 The water softenerThe water softener removes mineralsfrom the water supply, which would havea negative effect on the washing resultsand on the appliance.

The higher the content of these minerals,the harder your water is. Water hardnessis measured in equivalent scales.

The water softener should be adjustedaccording to the hardness of the water inyour area. Your local water authority canadvise you on the hardness of the waterin your area. It is important to set theright level of the water softener to assuregood washing results.

Softening hard waterincreases the consumptionof water and energy as wellas the programme duration.The higher the level of watersoftener, the higher theconsumption and the longerthe duration.

Regardless of the type of detergentused, set the proper water hardnesslevel to keep the salt refill indicatoractive.

Multi-tabs containing saltare not effective enough tosoften hard water.

7.2 The rinse aid emptynotificationThe rinse aid helps to dry the disheswithout streaks and stains. It isautomatically released during the hotrinse phase.

When the rinse aid chamber is empty,the rinse aid indicator is turned onnotifying to refill rinse aid. If the drying

results are satisfactory while using multi-tablets only, it is possible to deactivatethe notification for refilling rinse aid.However, for best drying performance,always use rinse aid.

If standard detergent or multi-tabletswithout rinse aid are used, activate thenotification to keep the rinse aid refillindicator active.

7.3 End soundYou can activate an acoustic signal thatsounds when the programme iscompleted.

Acoustic signals sound alsowhen a malfunction of theappliance occurs. It is notpossible to deactivate thesesignals.

7.4 AirDryAirDry improves the drying results. Theappliance door opens automaticallyduring the drying phase and remainsajar.

AirDry is automatically activated with allprogrammes.

CAUTION!Do not try to close theappliance door within 2minutes after automaticopening. This can causedamage to the appliance.

CAUTION!If children have access to theappliance, we advise todeactivate AirDry. Theautomatic opening of thedoor may pose a danger.

When AirDry opens thedoor, Beam-on-Floor mightnot be completely visible. Tosee if the programme iscomplete, look at the controlpanel.

7.5 Key tonesThe buttons on the control panel make aclick sound when you press them. Youcan deactivate this sound.

7.6 Latest programmeselectionYou can set the automatic selection ofthe most recently used programme andoptions.

The latest programme that wascompleted before the appliancedeactivation is saved. It is then selectedautomatically after you activate theappliance.

When the latest programme selection isdisabled, the default programme is ECO.

7.7 Setting mode

How to navigate in settingmodeYou can navigate in setting mode usingMY TIME selection bar.

Use Previous and Next to switchbetween the basic settings and tochange their value.

Use OK to enter the selected setting andto confirm changing its value.

How to enter setting modeYou can enter setting mode beforestarting a programme. You cannot entersetting mode while the programme isrunning.

To enter setting mode, press and hold

simultaneously and forabout 3 seconds.The lights related to the Previous, OKand Next are on.

How to change a settingMake sure the appliance is in settingmode.

1. Use Previous or Next to select thebar of the ECOMETER dedicated tothe desired setting.

• The bar of the ECOMETERdedicated to the chosen settingflashes.

• The display shows the currentsetting value.

2. Press OK to enter the setting.• The bar of the ECOMETER

dedicated to the chosen setting ison. The other bars are off.

• The current setting value flashes.3. Press Previous or Next to change

the value.4. Press OK to confirm the setting.

• The new setting is saved.• The appliance returns to the basic

settings list.5. Press and hold simultaneously

and for about 3seconds to exit setting mode.

The appliance returns to the programmeselection.The saved settings remain valid until youchange them again.

8. DAILY USE1. Open the water tap.

2. Press and hold until the applianceis activated.

3. Fill the salt container if it is empty.4. Fill the rinse aid dispenser if it is

empty.5. Load the baskets.6. Add the detergent.7. Select and start a programme.8. Close the water tap when the

programme is complete.

8.1 Using the detergent

selection bar to choose a suitableprogramme.• The light related to the selected

programme is on.• The ECOMETER indicates the

level of energy and waterconsumption.

• The display shows theprogramme duration.

2. Activate applicable EXTRAS ifdesired.

3. Close the appliance door to start theprogramme.

8.3 How to activate EXTRAS1. Select a programme using MY TIME

selection bar.2. Press the button dedicated to the

option you want to activate.• The light related to the button is

on.• The display shows the updated

programme duration.• The ECOMETER indicates the

updated level of energy andwater consumption.

By default, options must beactivated every time beforeyou start a programme.If the latest programmeselection is enabled, thesaved options are activatedautomatically along with theprogramme.

It is not possible to activateor deactivate options while aprogramme is running.

Not all options arecompatible with each other.

Activating options oftenincreases the water andenergy consumption as wellas the programme duration.

8.4 How to start the AUTOSense program

1. Press .• The light related to the button is

on.• The display shows the longest

possible program duration.

MY TIME and EXTRAS arenot applicable to thisprogram.

2. Close the appliance door to start theprogram.

The appliance senses the type of loadand adjusts a suitable wash cycle. Duringthe cycle, the sensors operate severaltimes and the initial program durationcan decrease.

8.5 How to delay the start of aprogramme1. Select a programme.

2. Press repeatedly until the displayshows the desired delay time (from 1to 24 hours).

The light related to the button is on.3. Close the appliance door to start the

countdown.During the countdown, it is not possibleto change the delay time and theprogramme selection.

When the countdown is complete, theprogramme starts.

8.6 How to cancel the delaystart while the countdownoperates

Press and hold for about 3 seconds.The appliance returns to the programmeselection.

If you cancel the delay start,you have to select theprogramme again.

8.7 How to cancel a runningprogramme

Press and hold for about 3 seconds.

8.8 Opening the door whilethe appliance operatesOpening the door while a programme isrunning stops the appliance. It may affectthe energy consumption and theprogramme duration. After closing thedoor, the appliance continues from thepoint of interruption.

If the door is opened formore than 30 secondsduring the drying phase, therunning programme ends. Itdoes not happen if the dooris opened by AirDryfunction.

8.9 The Auto Off functionThis function saves energy by switchingthe appliance off when it is notoperating.

The function comes into operationautomatically:• When the programme is completed.• After 5 minutes if a programme was

not started.

8.10 End of the programmeWhen the programme is complete, thedisplay shows 0:00.

The Auto Off function switches theappliance off automatically.

All buttons are inactive except for theon/off button.

9. HINTS AND TIPS

9.1 GeneralFollow the hints below to ensure optimalcleaning and drying results in daily useand to help you protect the environment.

• Remove larger residues of food fromthe dishes into the waste bin.

• Do not pre-rinse dishes by hand.When needed, select a programmewith a prewash phase.

• Always use the whole space of thebaskets.

• Make sure that items in the basketsdo not touch or cover each other.Only then can the water completelyreach and wash the dishes.

• You can use dishwasher detergent,rinse aid and salt separately or youcan use the multi-tablets (e.g. ''All in1''). Follow the instructions on thepackaging.

• Select a programme according to thetype of load and the degree of soil.ECO offers the most efficient use ofwater and energy consumption.

9.2 Using salt, rinse aid anddetergent• Only use salt, rinse aid and detergent

designed for dishwasher. Otherproducts can cause damage to theappliance.

• In areas with hard and very hardwater, we recommend to use basicdishwasher detergent (powder, gel,tablets containing no additionalagents), rinse aid and salt separatelyfor optimal cleaning and dryingresults.

• Detergent tablets do not fully dissolvewith short programmes. To preventdetergent residues on the tableware,we recommend that you use tabletswith long programmes.

• Do not use more than the correctquantity of detergent. Refer to theinstructions on the detergentpackaging.

9.3 What to do if you want tostop using multi-tabletsBefore you start using separatelydetergent, salt and rinse aid, completethe following steps:

1. Set the highest level of the watersoftener.

2. Make sure that the salt and rinse aidcontainers are full.

3. Start the Quick programme. Do notadd detergent and do not put dishesin the baskets.

4. When the programme is completed,adjust the water softener accordingto the water hardness in your area.

5. Adjust the released quantity of rinseaid.

9.4 Before starting aprogrammeBefore you start the selectedprogramme, make sure that:

• The filters are clean and correctlyinstalled.

• The cap of the salt container is tight.• The spray arms are not clogged.• There is enough salt and rinse aid

(unless you use multi-tablets).• The arrangement of the items in the

baskets is correct.• The programme is suitable to the

type of load and the degree of soil.• The correct quantity of detergent is

used.

9.5 Loading the baskets• Use the appliance to wash

dishwasher-safe items only.

• Do not wash in the appliance itemsmade of wood, horn, aluminium,pewter and copper.

• Do not wash in the appliance itemsthat can absorb water (sponges,household cloths).

• Remove large food residues fromdishes.

• Soak cookware with burnt-on foodbefore washing it in the appliance.

• Put hollow items (cups, glasses andpans) with the opening facingdownwards.

• Make sure that glasses do not toucheach other.

• Put light items in the upper basket.Make sure that the items do not movefreely.

• Put cutlery and small items in thecutlery basket.

• Make sure that the spray arms canmove freely before you start aprogramme.

9.6 Unloading the baskets1. Let the tableware cool down before

you remove it from the appliance.Hot items can be easily damaged.

2. First remove items from the lowerbasket, then from the upper basket.

After the programme iscompleted, water can stillremain on the insidesurfaces of the appliance.

10. CARE AND CLEANING

WARNING!Before any maintenanceother than running theprogramme Machine Care,deactivate the appliance anddisconnect the mains plugfrom the main socket.

Dirty filters and cloggedspray arms negatively affectthe washing results. Checkthese elements regularlyand, if necessary, cleanthem.

10.1 Machine CareMachine Care is a programme designedto clean the appliance interior withoptimal results. It removes limescale andgrease buildup.

When the appliance senses the need for

cleaning, the indicator is on. Start theMachine Care programme to clean theappliance interior.

How to start the Machine Careprogramme

Before starting the MachineCare programme, clean thefilters and spray arms.

1. Use a descaler or a cleaning productdesigned specifically for dishwashers.Follow the instructions on thepackaging. Do not put dishes in thebaskets.

2. Press and hold simultaneously

and for about 3 seconds.

The indicators and flash. Thedisplay shows the programme duration.3. Close the appliance door to start the

programme.When the programme is complete, the

indicator is off.

10.2 Internal cleaning• Carefully clean the appliance,

including the rubber gasket of thedoor, with a soft damp cloth.

• Do not use abrasive products,abrasive cleaning pads, sharp tools,strong chemicals, scourer or solvents.

• To maintain the performance of yourappliance, use a cleaning productdesigned specifically for dishwashersat least once every two months.Carefully follow the instructions onthe packaging of the product.

• For optimal cleaning results, start theMachine Care programme.

10.3 External cleaning• Clean the appliance with a moist soft

cloth.• Only use neutral detergents.

• Do not use abrasive products,abrasive cleaning pads or solvents.

10.4 Cleaning the filtersThe filter system is made of 3 parts.

10.5 Cleaning the lower sprayarmWe recommend to clean the lower sprayarm regularly to prevent soil fromclogging the holes.

Clogged holes can cause unsatisfactorywashing results.

1. To remove the lower spray arm, pullit upwards.

2. Wash the spray arm under runningwater. Use a thin pointed tool, e.g. atoothpick, to remove particles of soilfrom the holes.

3. To install the spray arm back, press itdownwards.

Unusual foam during washing. • Use the detergent designed specifically for dishwash-ers.

• There is a leak in the rinse aid dispenser. Contact anAuthorised Service Centre.

Traces of rust on cutlery. • There is too much salt in the water used for washing.Refer to "The water softener".

• Silver and stainless steel cutlery were placed together.Do not put silver and stainless steel items close to-gether.

There are residues of deter-gent in the dispenser at theend of the programme.

• The detergent tablet was stuck in the dispenser andtherefore was not completely washed away by water.

• Water cannot wash away the detergent from the dis-penser. Make sure that the spray arms are not blockedor clogged.

• Make sure that items in the baskets do not impede thelid of the detergent dispenser from opening.

Odours inside the appliance. • Refer to "Internal cleaning".• Start the Machine Care programme with a descaler or
