INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR IMPERIAL MODEL JET-PRO SHOWER SPA

Please read the Introduction included with these instructions carefully to become familiar with all of the parts of the Jet-Pro Shower Spa unit, the tools required and the installation process. Be sure to fol-low these step-by-step Installation Instructions in order to prevent any mistakes. REMINDER: This Jet-Pro Shower Spa is designed to be used with your existing on/off water pressure and temperature control valve.

Before you begin, remove any shower products that may be inside your shower.

Make sure the area is free of any debris.

Place the spa in an area that will not be disturbed.

Organize all of the parts to prepare for installation. INSTRUCTIONS FOR REMOVING OLD ESCUTCHEON COVER AND SHOWER ARM 1. Remove old shower head and shower head pipe from shower wall. 2. Turn shower arm counter-clockwise with adjustable wrench to disconnect shower arm from perma-

nent fitting inside wall. 3. Leverage a screwdriver between escutcheon and wall to remove escutcheon.

4. Once old shower head pipe/arm is removed, thread the CPVC (Schedule 80) Nipple Wall Pipe (G) into the wall fitting. The length of the CPVC Pipe should be a distance of 1 inch from the wall. Using a black marker to mark the CPVC Pipe.

5. Using a hack saw cut the CPVC (Schedule 80) threaded wall pipe (G) to the desired length. NOTE: The CPVC (Schedule 80) threaded wall pipe (G) with elbow (H) attached can only protrude from wall a maximum of 2 inches (anything more interferes with ability to attach the spa unit). 6. Apply 3 revolutions of thread seal tape to threads on Threaded CPVC (Schedule 80) Nipple Pipe

and Elbow. Apply tape in a clockwise direction. 7. Attach Threaded Nipple with attached Elbow to existing water source (inside the wall) by tighten-

ing on the Elbow with an adjustable wrench. Do not over tighten! UNIT ESSEMBLY STEPS: Refer to Assembly Illustrations! Attach the following parts to your Jet-Pro Shower Spa before installing the unit in your shower: 1. Attach the Rain Style Shower Arm (A), or the Standard Shower Arm (B), using the brass nut (J)

and the white Teflon washer (K). Make sure there is enough ceiling height to install rain style shower arm. Attach brass nut (J) and white Teflon washer (K), hand tighten onto threaded end of Shower

Arm (A or B). Use adjustable wrench to tighten the final brass nut. Do not over tighten!

2. Attach either the Rain Style Shower Head (C) or a Standard Style Shower Head (not included) to the shower arm by simply hand tightening it clock- wise.

3. Attach the 5-Function Turbo Jet (F) to the spa unit (in the space provided) by hand tightening it

clockwise Insert the small black or clear rubber washer into Turbo Jet Hand tighten the turbo Jet to the spa unit.

4. Check each connection on the back of the spa unit to make sure all water supply hoses tightened and secure.

6

Reminder: This spa is designed specifically to target and benefit the upper body, neck, back and shoulders. The installation position of your spa unit should allow the series of jets to be facing the upper body. The adjustable jets allow you to position the jet spray to a specific target area on your upper body. SPA INSTALLATION STEPS 1. Use the Paper Template (O) to determine the best location of the spa unit on your shower wall.

Evaluate the shower head and body spray heights to maximize spa effectiveness. 2. Hold up the Template to the wall to visualize where you want it. 3. IMPORTANT: The top hole in template represents the shower arm connection point. Make

sure the water supply wall pipe and elbow does not interfere with the Shower Arm connec-tion point on the template.

4. Then, tape the Template to the wall. Use a pencil to mark the shower wall to show the exact loca-

tion of the 4 drill holes which will be used to attach the 2 mounting brackets (1 upper and 1 lower) to the shower wall. The template shows the measured distance between the 4 holes for each bracket, from top to bottom. Once you have marked the Mounting Bracket hole locations on the wall, remove the template. Make any necessary minor adjustments to drill hole locations accord-ing to the actual brackets on the Spa.

5. Make sure template holes are level and plum. (Straight up and down.) 6. Using your marks on the wall drill the top 2 holes for the top bracket.

For solid surface walls (tile, marble, granite, etc.) use a 1/4 inch tile drill bit, or masonry drill

bit.

Slowly and carefully drill a 1¼ inch deep hole into wall in all four locations. CAUTION:

Live, active plumbing is behind the wall. USE EXTREME CAUTION TO AVOID DRILL-ING INTO LIVE PLUMBING LINES. NOTE: If attempting to mount spa unit to fiberglass wall or part of spa unit to plastered wall surface, you must purchase the appropriate type of mounting anchors for this type of wall surface. Jet-Pro Shower Spas does not recommend mounting spa unit to fiberglass surface without sufficient wood or sheetrock backing.

7. Insert the Wall Anchors (M) inside the four drill holes. 8. Insert the four Wall Screws (L) through the Wall Mounting Brackets and into the Wall Anchors (M)

and tighten.

9. Raise spa unit and connect the braided, stainless steel water hose (already attached inside the spa unit) to the Threaded Nipple wall pipe (G) and elbow (H).

10. Secure the connection by tightening it clockwise with an adjustable wrench. Do not over tighten! 11. After it’s connected, maneuver the braided hose so it sits inside the spa unit without kinking or

binding.

7

12. Hold the spa unit up to the wall and slide unit onto the two spa Wall Brackets. 13. Before you let go, make sure the spa unit is securely attached to the mounting brackets. 14. IMPORTANT - Make sure spa unit is properly secured before releasing. 15. Attach the Stainless Steel Hand Spray Water Hose (E) to the existing connection stub on the right-

hand side of the spa unit.

16. Connect the Hand Spray Shower Head (D) to water hose by hand tightening it clockwise. 17. Attach the Hand Spay Shower Head (D) to the adjustable sliding bar mount. YOUR JET-PRO SHOWER SPA IS NOW READY TO USE! Follow the steps in the enclosed USER GUIDE to begin using your spa. USER GUIDE REMINDER: This Jet-Pro Shower Spa is designed to be used with the existing on/off water tempera-

ture control valve already installed in your shower. Now that you have installed your new Jet-Pro Shower Spa, you are ready to begin enjoying it!

Turn water on to desired temperature and pressure.

To select one of the four functions of the Jet-Pro Shower Spa Diverter Valve, simply rotate

the face of the valve to line up the indicator with one of the four illustrations on the chrome cover of the diverter valve.

To adjust the jet spray on the Comfort Jets, the Turbo Jets or the Hand Sprayer, simply rotate

the face of the jet to the right or left to choose the type of spray desired. You can set each of the following jets individually:

6 – 2 function Comfort Jets 1 – 5 function Turbo Jet 1 Overhead Rain Shower 1 – 5 function Sliding Hand Sprayer

Note: The Hand Sprayer may be used as an adjustable height Shower Head. PLEASE NOTE: The mirror on your Imperial Jet-Pro Shower Spa is not fog proof. We recommend you use a fog-free solution on the mirror for best results. CARE AND MAINTENANCE: Your Jet-Pro Shower Spa requires frequent cleaning to protect the finish. Any common, household glass cleaner is recommended as a cleaning product. To help protect your Jet-Pro Shower Spa from hard water stains and mineral deposits use an auto spray wax periodically and wipe down your Jet-Pro Shower Spa after each use. Make sure all chrome and other finishes are well maintained and frequently cleaned. Clean rubber jet surfaces frequently with a cloth or nonabrasive sponge to prevent mineral or scum build up between jet holes that might hinder jet spray. Cleaning with a damp, nonabrasive sponge and drying with a clean soft cloth should help you keep your Jet-Pro Shower Spa looking beautiful. DO NOT use abrasive, caustic or ammonia cleaners, polishes or chemicals, and do not use “no-rinse” clean-ing products. Avoid products that state they remove tarnish and rust. If needed, for further instruction, contact Jet-Pro Shower Spa Customer Service at [email protected] or (831) 462-9682. WARNING: The Jet-Pro Shower Spa is not intended to be used as a personal support device. It will not support the full body weight of a person. Do not grab onto or try to pull on the device at any time while in your show-er.
