INTRODUCTION
Use TMOS
INTRODUCTION
Objective
To instruct the reader in the process of running in a cell data transcript file into both the MSC and BSC.
ScopeThis technical instruction covers the procedure followed in order to run in a cell data transcript file to define parameters for cells in both the MSC and BSC.
References
Additional references to this procedure are as follows:
Generating and Changing Radio Cell data (Procedure).
OSS 7.0 TMOS O-module (Users Manual) under Command Handling Documents: Command File Developer: 3/1553-CRA 114 313 Uen Rev A 1998-04-22 (Prepared by Ericsson Hewlett-Packard Telecommunications AB).
Loading a ref on Remedy (Procedure).
PROCEDURE
Logging a ref
Should the command files execution be traffic affecting, a ref should be obtained. The ref should be logged timeously, and should include all the information as set out in the Remedy reference logging procedure.
Transferring Transcript Files
1. Transcript files are transferred as follows:
Check the File. Check the Cell data Transcript File for inconsistencies and errors.
Transfer the Transcript File. Use FTP.exe on the PC network to transfer the cell data Transcript File from the PC network to an appropriate directory in TMOS, ensuring that the transfer takes place in the ASCII format.
Log into TMOS. Once the transfer is complete, exit from FTP.exe and proceed to log into TMOS using the designated terminal.
Execute Cell data Transcript File. Refer to the TMOS Users Manual, Command File Developer, 3/1553-CRA 114 313 Uen Rev A 1998-04-22 (Prepared by Ericsson Hewlett-Packard Telecommunications AB).
Refer to the Command File Developer. The above document refers to the use of a utility called Command File Developer. This will instruct the user on how to run the Cell data Transcript File into the appropriate network node (BSC/ MSC).
Hanging Command or faulty equipment
Should the execution of a command file cause a hanging command in the network nodes, please notify Data Control Group (DCG). In the case where radio equipment becomes faulty, the Network Control Centre engineer responsible for the node affected or the switch engineer on duty should be contacted.
