2015 REAP Grant Recipients Project Amount Project Description Town Applegate Housing Limited Partnership $300,000 This project involves installing a wood chip boiler system that will replace the current oil heating system at a multi-family housing project. More than 35,000 gallons of fuel oil will no longer be consumed each year by this apartment complex, at an annual cost savings in excess of $85,000. Bennington Barton Solar, LLC $500,000 This project will provide funding for the purchase and installation of a 1.89 MW Solar system that will generate 2,945,575 kWh of renewable energy annually to the Vermont electric grid. Barton Bouchard Family Dairy $12,444 This project will install a reverse osmosis system for the farm’s maple syrup operation that is estimated to reduce energy usage by 79%. The proposed system is projected to save enough energy to equate to the amount of electricity it takes to power 4 homes. St. Albans Corse Farm $23,917 This project involves installing a 32.3kW solar PV system which will provide 130% of the farm’s electrical needs. Whitingham Davis Hill Farm $3,477 This project involves installing new equipment at the Recipient’s sugarhouse which will reduce energy consumption by 80%. Hyde Park Eureka Satellite LLC, Jasper Hill Farm $109,443 This project involves installing a 169.3kW roof-mounted, grid-tied solar photovoltaic array. Greensboro Howmars Farm $25,725 This project involves installing a 34.2kW solar PV system that will displace all of the farm’s electricity usage. It is estimated that this project will generate enough electricity to power the equivalent of 5 homes. Franklin The Last Resort Farm $7,988 This project involves installing a 14.6kW solar photovoltaic array at the Last Resort Farm. The system will provide 108% of the operation’s electricity needs.
