As a “semi-young” Gen Xer, I have the privilege of working with both Baby Boomers and Millennials in USANA’s creative services department. I learn so much from the Baby Boomers, and the Millennials are eager and have fresh, new ideas—plus they keep me feeling young. We work well together, too. The variety of perspectives helps us create the best possible finished products.

The same is true for your USANA business. More than likely you’ve got a wide range of ages and life experience on your team to help make it successful. It doesn’t matter whether you’re just out of high school or entering the retirement world. We all have something to contribute. We may do it a little differently, but those differences keep the business exciting and growing. So keep your eyes peeled and your ears to the ground to find those individuals from all generations who will make your business thrive.

Challenge AcceptedI’ve helped host USANA’s RESET Challenge for our Associates and PCs for the last three years. Year after year, I’m blown away by the amount of weight lost and the stories that triumphantly emerge from this program. I have endured many ups and downs with my weight and can relate personally to those participating in the Challenge. At the end of it all, I get the privilege of joining the grand-prize winners for a week’s stay at Sanoviv Medical Institute in beautiful Baja California, Mexico. The memories and friendships I’ve formed with the winners are priceless. I am honored to work for a company that not only cares so much for the health and well-being of their customers, but also rewards them for their progress in the journey toward health.

Seeing Strengths In Every Generation

Age is just a number. Do you believe that? When I was younger, I thought age mattered a lot. No one wants to be “old.” But as I’ve aged, I’ve realized that more important than how long ago you were born is how you live your life.

You’ve taught me this lesson. USANA Associates succeed no matter which gen-eration they come from because a life of health and freedom—and helping others achieve the same—is a message that rings true for most people, no matter their age or background. Baby Boomers, Gen X, Gen Y, and Millennials may not see eye to eye on music or clothes, but they can agree on this: USANA offers a way out of the traditional nine to five and opens up a whole new world full of amazing opportunities.

Another reason USANA success isn’t limited to one type of person is that every generation brings unique strengths to direct selling. Baby Boomers traditionally are fantastic at following up by phone, helping create a personalized customer service experience. Gen Xers often are great problem solvers and can see past obsta-cles that would stop others from pursuing their ultimate goals. And Gen Yers and Millennials are becoming incredible at using social media to further their business pursuits.

As you continue to share USANA, remember that every generation has something to offer your team. Age is just a number—it’s the spirit of the individual that will truly help take your USANA business to new heights.

—Kevin Guest, USANA President

T HAS BEEN SAID THAT HEALTH IS A JOURNEY, not a destination. It has also been said you can’t experience change without struggle.

Few grasp this concept better than the grand-prize winners of USANA’s RESET™ Nation Challenge: 24 people who understand the power of commitment—who believed in their ability to succeed and never lost sight of their goals.

They made a commitment, and change followed.

Of course, it wasn’t easy. Weight loss never is. They battled temptation, grappled with the urge to quit, and fought to prove they had what it takes to succeed.

After completing the 12-week weight-loss challenge (shedding a combined weight of 1,061.4 pounds), each winner was treated to a four-day vacation at Sanoviv Medical Institute; a private oasis of health and healing established by Dr. Myron Wentz. When they retuned home, they were not only determined to continue their own wellness journey, but prepared to guide others as they take the first step toward becoming the person they’ve always wanted to be.

SAM STOSUR IS A PROFESSIONAL TENNIS PLAYER, A FORMER NO. 1 IN DOUBLES, AND WINNER OF THE 2011 US OPEN. BUT JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE, SAM STOSUR HAS TO WAKE UP, EXERCISE, AND MAKE HEALTHY CHOICES EVERY DAY. SHE JUST HAPPENS TO BE REALLY AMAZING AT IT—AND SHE HAS USANA’S SUPPLEMENTS TO HELP GIVE HER THAT EXTRA EDGE.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT THEM?When you’re traveling, you don’t get to eat all the things you should. The supplements top off all the things you might miss from your diet when you’re away. They’re a good way to balance out your diet. They make a big difference if you’re a little bit run down and not resting enough. They help quite a bit to support my recovery after a hard training session. Now I can get back in the gym sooner.*

AS AN ATHLETE, WHY IS IT IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO TAKE QUALITY SUPPLEMENTS?You need to know that they’re actually going to be a benefit. The Essentials help me maintain my energy levels, which really helps me power through my workouts. I feel like they give me the nutrition I need to perform at my best. And doping is a big risk. I would never want to take any big risks. USANA will actually guarantee their supplements, and that’s important.*

HOW DO YOU MAKE SURE YOUR MEALS ARE NUTRITIOUS?There are always options. It’s about ordering the right things.

WHAT’S A GO-TO HEALTHY MEAL FOR YOU?Lately, avocado on toast. Bit of carbs, some good fats, bit of olive oil, and lemon.

DO YOU EVER HAVE TIMES WHEN YOU DON’T FEEL LIKE EATING HEALTHY?Everyone does! It depends on how much you have of it [unhealthy foods], and how often. If you really enjoy something, don’t deprive yourself. I love French fries, but they’re probably the worst for you.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO MAKE A LIFESTYLE CHANGE?Stick at it for a decent amount of time. Don’t give up after a few days or a week.

It can take a while. You have to form good habits. Good habits become better habits. You will actually want to go on that walk or bike ride. The beginning is always hard—after a break I’m more tired. I think having a long-term outlook will help you, and when you start seeing benefits, those will also motivate you.

WHEN DID YOU KNOW YOU WANTED TO PLAY TENNIS?I started playing at eight, and by 13 I was like, yep, that’s what I want to do. I loved doing it, and I wanted to be at the court every day after school. My brother and I went there every day. It was just the love of the sport. I didn’t know how much work it would take, about everything that would go into it, but now I’m here.

IF YOU WEREN’T A TENNIS PLAYER, WHAT WOULD YOU WANT TO DO FOR A CAREER?Some sport. I don’t know what. At school I played everything. I played basketball, netball [similar to basketball]—I did every sport possible. But I was young when I decided on tennis. I would have done another sport though, if it weren’t for tennis. nNUTRITION

Saturated FatsChemically speaking, saturated fats are fat molecules that have no double bonds between carbon molecules because they are saturated with hydrogen molecules. While you may think of saturated fats as coming mostly from meat and dairy products, there are also many plant-based saturated fats, including palm oil and coconut oil. Like all fats, saturated fats contain nine calories per gram.

TriglyceridesTriglycerides are fat molecules found in the blood. Individuals with high levels of triglycerides are at higher risk for atherosclerosis, which can lead to heart disease and stroke.

at. It’s a small, one-syllable word that strikes fear in the hearts of many a dieter. Ever since low-fat

diets became the latest fad, fat has largely been shunned from most weight-loss conversations. Cut

the fat and you won’t be fat, right?

Hold on. It’s not that simple. Healthy fats can be important for achieving and maintaining healthy, sustainable

weight loss. And, moderate amounts of saturated fat in particular may not be bad for your heart, which means

restricting fat intake may not help your health or your waist line. So, how does a low-carb diet (approximately 45

percent of calories from fat) stack up to a low-fat diet (30 percent or fewer calories from fat)?

F

LOW CARB VS. LOW FAT CHOLESTEROL

Many studies conducted in the 1980s revealed what was thought to be a direct correlation between the intake of saturated fats and the increase in cholesterol, which is a major indicator of heart disease. However, more recent research has shown that saturated fats don’t always cause high cholesterol and some might actually have the opposite effect. A recent study in the American Journal of Epidemiology compared low-fat diets and low-carb diets, and researchers concluded that “compared with participants on low-fat diets, persons on low-carbohydrate diets experienced a slightly but statistically significant lower reduction in total cholesterol… and a greater decrease in triglycerides.” The low-carb group didn’t even try to avoid

saturated fats, either—they had plenty of butter, meat, and cheese, and neither group was asked to count calories.

Even more surprising was that between the two groups, waist circumference, body weight, and other metabolic risks factors were not significantly different between the two diet types.

More information: Tian Hu, “Effects of Low-Carbohydrate Diets Versus Low-Fat Diets on Metabolic Risk Factors: A Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Clinical Trials,” American Journal of Epidemiology, 2012 Oct 1; 176(Suppl 7): S44–S54, accessed May 15, 2015, doi: 10.1093/aje/kws264

LOW CARB VS. LOW FAT WEIGHT LOSS

When it comes to weight loss, deciding how to accomplish your goals—and make them last a lifetime—can be

difficult. The Annals of Internal Medicine published a study comparing low-carb and low-fat diets with surprising results. The researchers enrolled obese people who did not report a history of cardiovascular disease, and they were randomly assigned to a low-fat or low-carbohydrate diet. The study found that “at three, six, and 12 months, participants on the low-carbohydrate diet had lost more weight than those on the low-fat diet. At 12 months, those in the low-carbohydrate group had lost an average of 7.7 pounds more than those in the low-fat group.” n

But today, these Baby Boomers are exploring the network marketing industry. With few start-up barriers and the ability to set their own schedule, it’s a great avenue for people who are retired and want flexibility. Take Dyann Lyon and Wild Bill Jones, Gold Directors from Washington. As a “100 percent retired” couple, Dyann and Wild began earnestly building their USANA business in 2008. And although it was a learning curve for them, they are certainly enjoying the growth, camaraderie, and experiences the business offers them. “There are so many aspects to this opportunity that keep it interesting for us,” they say. “As we become older, we understand how important relationships are, and to affect lives in a positive way is priceless.”

WHY DO THEY WANT TO BUILD THEIR OWN BUSINESS?

• They’re known for being highly educated and willing to embrace change1

• They have strong entrepreneurial impulses

• They crave a more balanced life between work and family

• They are more likely to walk away from their current job if flexibility isn’t available in their workplace2

Bungee jumping, parachute pants, and phones with cords. Gen X had it all. And it seems they still do—except for good retirement plans. According to Alex Tai and Vivian Lee, Gen X Diamond Directors from British Columbia, “This group is usually well educated and has great skills. A good majority of us followed the traditional path of attending school and looking for a good job. However, companies today no longer provide retirement plans that can support us in our old age.” With that in mind, more and more are looking for ways to retire comfortably. Because this generation is hard working and disciplined, they know how to get results. I mean, they actually grew up having to get up off the couch and turn the channel if they wanted to watch something else on TV. That’s dedication.

Regardless of age gaps, personalities, and taste in music, these powerful generations have one common denominator—they (and you) can all be successful at building a USANA business.

So forget the labels. Although they may impact how you build your business—a phone call versus a text message, or a printed flyer versus a YouTube video—they don’t determine the bottom line of your success.

Millennial (Gen Y)• Between the ages of 18 and 34• Often referred to as “echo

the nation’s largest living generation this year3

WHY DO THEY WANT TO BUILD THEIR OWN BUSINESS?

• They have a strong sense of community, both local and global

• They are believed to be the most tech savvy of the generations

• They know how to use social media to leverage opportunities

• They are regarded as the most enthusiastic about their jobs

Millennial or Gen Y, whatever you want to call them, is a group on the lookout for excitement. They prefer short over long, to-the-point over drawn out, and practical over philosophical. They want approval, recognition, and to do things on their terms. “Being Gen Y, my biggest thing is doing what I want to do when I want to do it,” says Gold Director Michelle Ward, from Texas. “I want to see everything and do everything.” In short, she, and the other millions of Millennials like her, want freedom. As for building a successful USANA business, what they don’t want, according to Michelle, is stuffy seminars. “Do Rev3® socials. Do spa parties. Make it fun. We are about to turn the world upside down.”

Conchita Vargas Lugo is one of USANA’s most legendary and prolific leaders. Her recent advancement to 9-Star Diamond Director is further evidence that no matter how far you come, there are always opportunities for more personal and professional growth. Throughout her years with USANA, she has searched tirelessly for excellence and has continually had to reinvent herself and commit to stretching her limits in order to attain it.

And Conchita’s commitment to USANA shines brightly through her team. She spent much of 2014 in Colombia, but her advancement to 9-Star Diamond Director came largely because of her work with her team back in Mexico. She focused on her leaders there and worked with them to develop new goals that they could share together. If her business was going to grow, she wanted everyone’s businesses to grow.

For Conchita, there was nothing better than watching the members of her team advance, and it drove her to work with even greater passion and motivation. “No words can express how much I appreciate my team for what they have done,” she says. “When I returned to Querétaro, Mexico, we enrolled 600 people in the course of three weeks. It was a titanic achievement! Today, more than ever, I feel passionate and committed to seeing my team members grow and realize their dreams. Thank you! Thank you!”

As a 9-Star Diamond Director, Conchita knows nothing could be possible without support, including that of her daughter, Paola. While Conchita was working hard in Colombia, Paola not only took care of the business in Mexico, but was also actively engaged helping others in soup kitchens and around her community. She has been an inspiration to her mother, and Conchita couldn’t be happier to see her daughter living her dreams.

As Conchita looks back on her success with USANA, she sees the success of her daughter and her team and is excited to see what they will accomplish next. “I dreamed of being their hero, but I never imagined they would become mine,” she says. “Thank you for your heart!”

1-Star Diamond Director—February 22–April 11, 2015

It’s taken a lot of hard work for new 1-Star Diamond Director Anna Chang Li to get where she is—but she’s always seen herself as a diamond in the making. “It takes a long time and high pressure to make a diamond, and the quality of the diamond depends largely on its cut as well as the skillful hands of the craftsman,” she says. “The same holds true for a business.”

Anna has built a solid organization by following in the footsteps of USANA’s founder. “The vision of Dr. Wentz has become a vision of my own in USANA,” she says. To her, this means working hard and working smart, and Anna believes that finding and training excellent partners is the smartest way to succeed. “Outstanding leaders should be humble, have the ability to love and care for others, and should have a clear vision and insight,” she says. “As long as you find people like this, you will succeed.”

Successful USANA Associates must also lead by example, which is why Anna aims to be a positive role model for her team. She understands that she can only expect her teammates to do what she herself has done. Anna feels grateful to her dedicated team and for her, success is found in helping them live their dreams.

She also attributes her success to USANA’s strong corporate support system. In fact, her business has been booming since USANA became a Trusted Partner and Sponsor of The Dr. Oz Show. “It makes it easy to share our products with our clients,” she admits. And she believes that sharing the products is the first step to gaining new team members and Preferred Customers. “We plant the healthy lifestyle seeds in people’s hearts. Sooner or later they will begin to grow,” she says. “I believe that USANA can help improve many people’s quality of life in so many ways!”

So what does the 1-Star Diamond Director plan on accomplishing next? “I want to become a Million Dollar Club member,” she says.

1-Star Diamond Directors—February 22–April 11, 2015

New 1-Star Diamond Directors Paulina Septién and Armando Gómez are on a roll. And that’s exactly how they planned it. They understand how important momentum can be in a business like this, so they knew if they wanted to accomplish great things this year, they would need a powerful start. “It was clear to us that we had to get off to a flying start in 2015,” they say. “For us, this advancement is merely the preparation process for our goals this year. We consider it only as a foundation for our work toward International Convention.”

With their goals in mind, Paulina and Armando are confident that there is so much more in store for them and their team if they continue down this path. “We want to see our team continue to advance,” they say. “It’s the most important goal for us right now.”

Paulina and Armando know accomplishing your goals requires a lot of hard work and an intense dedication to helping those around you succeed. With a commitment to their team, they now focus on creating, sustaining, and bolstering the people around them. “We devote ourselves to training leaders,” they say. “This business is not about quantity. It’s about quality. Thanks to our team, everything is working out.”

Even with a focus on training, they still take every opportunity to share USANA with others because they truly believe that USANA is ethical and consistent in every way. “We believe the business is the same now as it was when we started,” they say. “The difference now is the perseverance and professionalism with which we approach it.”

Paulina and Armando plan to keep dreaming big because they know that unless you dream big, you’ll never be able to see how far you can really go. “Keep pursing your dreams and make sure they are really big,” they say. “You can make an impact on others’ lives by changing their stories.”

For many Associates, starting with USANA means finding time in an already busy day to work through the challenges of running a new business. New Diamond Director John Goerlitz started his business exactly that way. But from the very beginning, he knew there was great potential. “Despite all the challenges, one thing was certain—I firmly believe in USANA and the products,” he says. “I learned that treating my USANA business as a priority and taking consistent action every day would open a world of new possibilities. I started to build my business into the nooks and crannies of my day.” Pretty soon, he started to see great breakthroughs in his business.

And as John grew over the years, so did his team. “Part of my formula for success was to always invest in good team members,” he says. “I believe that if I can help enough people get what they want, then it will help me achieve what I want.” John made a diligent effort to include his team in every goal he set, and they played a key role in his success. Along the way, his team was able to succeed as well. “I’m so grateful for my team and their friendship,” he says.

Now, John is also grateful to know that his USANA business has allowed him to fulfill his dreams to travel the world and spend time with his wife and daughter. He’s been able to live in three different countries while building his business, and he knows that all the struggles and all the effort was absolutely worth it. “When I think back to all the challenges I had in the beginning, I am grateful that I never gave up,” he says. “I can’t even begin to imagine what my life would look like today if I had quit back then.”

For John, advancing to Diamond is a great step in the right direction. He is excited to continue growing his business and hopes to soon join USANA’s Million Dollar Club. “My journey doesn’t stop here,” he says.

In USANA, momentum is everything. The excitement that comes from building a business and seeing steady results can propel your goals further than you thought possible. New Diamond Director Kefeng Wei understands this perfectly. After advancing to Emerald Director in September of 2014, Wei knew that maintaining momentum was crucial for her team, so she worked hard to inspire her team to continue going strong. And her team rose to the challenge. “My team has been growing steadily, and as I continue to provide more training, I’m confident they will continue to grow,” she says. “I am excited to continue to lead my team to further success.”

But leading a team to success is no easy task. It requires intense dedication to your team and a firm commitment to personal growth. “Now I want to focus on becoming a better leader,” she says. “I want to work with my team members to create a more disciplined and high-performance business.”

Wei is quick to acknowledge that her team is the reason she’s been able to be so successful. She feels inspired by them and knows that with each step she takes in her business, her team will be by her side. “The high spirit of our entire team encourages me to work hard and teaches me how wonderful it is to work together,” she says. “I would like to express my appreciation to the many people who share the same goals and work hard together. All of their hard work makes me want to be more dedicated.”

Now, Wei is excited to keep the momentum going. She looks forward to International Convention because she knows that being able to interact with other leaders and hear from amazing speakers is exactly the type of excitement she knows will help her team. “I love the atmosphere and energy created at International Convention,” she says. “The whole event makes me feel even more confident in USANA.”

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:1. Opt-in:If you haven’t already, you need to opt-in on The Hub. Think of July 3rd as your deadline. Once the sun rises on the 4th, you’re out of luck—stranded at sea without a life vest—and you will have to wait until next year to participate. But don’t worry. You may be a little late to the party, but if you opt-in today, all your growth will be backdated to July 4th, 2014.

2. Book Your CABIN NOW:This is important. We encourage you to book your cabin ahead of time to make sure you don’t miss out. Even if you don’t win a full-expense-paid vacation, you still have the chance to put the points you’ve earned—once you hit 500—toward the trip.

Think of your points as cold, hard cash. You wouldn’t just leave that money sitting on the table, would you? By booking your cabin now, it allows you to secure the cabin you want and ensures that you’ll take advantage of all that spare change.

Yes, this is a crucial step, but it’s also incredibly simple. Just visit the Success on the High Seas contest page and click “Reserve your spot now on the luxurious Adventure of the Seas.”

3. Join Us:When cruising the Caribbean, the “more the merrier” philosophy applies. So even if you miss out on winning with Success on the High Seas, you can pay your own way and celebrate with us anyway.

Plus, this isn’t just a chance to catch some rays and see the sights.

This is an ideal opportunity to network with your friends, family, and team members, and maybe even rub shoulders with some of USANA’s elite. Who knows who you’ll meet and what you’ll learn! n

Trust us, once this ship sets sail, you’ll want to be onboard. Don’t miss the boat!

“You can’t build a successful USANA business or become a member of the Growth 25 or win a trip like Success on the High Seas on your own. So cultivate a team environment that people want to be a part of. Do that, and you’ll find success.”

As parents, David and Sufi Chang know that the flexibility their USANA business

offers them is invaluable. They have the freedom to be actively involved in their

children’s schoolwork and extra curricular activities. Now, as new Emerald Directors,

their business is proving to be an even greater blessing in their lives because

it allows them to help and associate with amazing people. “Success in this

business is always because of those around you,” they say. “No one can do this

by themselves.”

David and Sufi believe that to truly be successful, you need to set goals and focus

on others. “With great support from the corporate office as well as training from

so many people across the world, we’ve gotten used to focusing on a goal and

getting it done,” they say. “But it also helps when you have fellow USANA family

members striving for the best. When we see their success, it drives us further.”

Now that they’ve accomplished this goal for themselves, they are eager and excited

to help others realize their potential. “We seek to help others be better off in their

situations, with both their health and their finances,” they say. “We’ve had the pleasure

to team up with so many sincere, hardworking people, so seeing them accomplish

their goals is the most important thing for us right now.”David & Sufi Chang

New Emerald Director Jordi Iniestra de la Riva knows that success often comes with

its own set of challenges. Rather than feel defeated, he knows these challenges offer

amazing potential for growth. “I believe that you must always have challenges and

should never remain at a standstill,” he says. “Being hungry for success and taking

action along with your team can generate incredible results at any moment.”

For Jordi, one of his greatest obstacles with USANA was learning and embracing

public speaking. With a commitment to growth, he did everything he could to

overcome anything that stood in his way. “The answer is clear,” he says. “I have to

copy the recipe from the most successful people.”

Now that he understands that challenges are part of the process, he has learned how

to use them to his advantage. “I constantly look for ways to learn and improve my

leadership abilities, to break from my fears, and to work every day toward personal

growth,” he says.

Jordi is happy to see how he’s grown with USANA, and he is so grateful for the

positive effect it has had on his life. “USANA is more than a business,” he says. “For

me, it is an incomparable life plan. I am grateful to God for so many blessings and for

bringing such incredible people into my life. Thank you to my team and thank you to

USANA story with you—the way USANA saved me from personal and professional struggles I never imagined I could overcome.

First and foremost, I have the strongest testimonial of the impact USANA products can have on your life—

specifically USANA® Foods and the RESET™ weight-management program as a whole.*

As I reached adulthood, my weight became a serious issue. It actually reached the point where I was struggling with obesity, resulting in more health issues than I could count. Do you know what it’s like to walk up a flight

of stairs and not only get winded, but to also feel physical pain and aches throughout your entire body? It’s not a position that makes you feel very proud of yourself. In fact, I had reached a point where I had no choice but to take action.

We all have a unique USANA story. Some of us stumbled upon the company by chance. Some of us were long-time customers who decided to take on the

business opportunity to make a few extra bucks each week.FOR ME, USANA WAS WHAT SAVED MY LIFE.

This is when USANA stepped in. Looking back, it’s hard to formulate words that accurately express how grateful I am for this opportunity to come into my life. It was in that moment I made a choice: to reset my life. No longer would I make excuses. No longer would I live life as a spectator. This was my time to jump at an opportunity to save myself from a life of misery. And from then on, I pushed ahead with full force.

Here I am, six years later. I’ve shed more than 140 pounds (and kept it off); my quality of life has drastically improved; and my self-image has been restored…actually…revamped entirely. USANA gave me the strength and courage to look in the mirror.**

But here’s the best part of my transformation: it’s not just my personal health that’s reaped the benefits of USANA. Because of the loving, motivational atmosphere associated with being a member of the USANA family, my social and professional lives have become instrumental to my current happiness and success.

Never did I imagine I would develop public speaking skills; my friends would

teach me new languages; or I would gain the ability to network and connect with new people on a daily basis. It’s a refreshing way to embrace a life that truly makes me happy—that fulfills me even at the young age of 26. Seeing older individuals who’ve become jaded and bitter because they never pursued their passions or challenged the idea of success really puts the USANA lifestyle into perspective for me. And I couldn’t be more thankful for the freedom I’ve gained.

Speaking of freedom and perspective, seeing the business benefits of this company materialize has been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever been a part of. The direct-selling opportunity allows me to travel and see the world rather than sit behind a desk, quietly admiring the world through pictures or videos someone else has captured. This business pushes me to create wealth for myself while helping others who are suffering financially. And none of this is dependent on where I came from or my educational background. In fact, I had actually earned a bachelor’s degree from college when I was trapped in my worst state of life. It just proves that I wasn’t meant to live a life someone else had mapped out for me. I wasn’t ready to work day after day to ensure some manager or superior was paid. Even though my boss (me) can

be harsh at times, working for myself is what makes me happy and excited to wake up in the morning.

Six years ago, I thought none of this would be possible. But that’s what makes USANA so valuable. If you embrace it with all your heart and strive to better yourself—and others along the way—every single day, the impossible suddenly becomes possible.

Now let’s get going, USANA family. No more hiding or putting our dreams on hold. It’s time to live our lives the way each of us were meant to: our own way. Go inspire, encourage, and change someone’s life with your story! n

“Leadership Summit is a must for every Associate. It is the gift that keeps on giving because we’ve been able to implement many of the tools we were given into our daily lives, with our children, and in our USANA business. The training we received took our business to new heights upon our arrival home. We were left speechless and with even more gratitude than we came with. Leadership Summit was a life-changing experience.”

—Margherita Sanita De-FrancoExecutive Gold Director

“I was so honored to meet so many leaders from all around the world. Leadership Summit was such an important and huge milestone. Be sure you work hard and get to Leadership Summit. Being able to attend was the greatest reward for that effort.”

—Angie Gray Executive Gold Director

What is Leadership Summit?

USANA invites any Gold Director and below who has not previously attended a Leadership Summit (or Gold Retreat) to attend.

In order to qualify, you must:

• No more than 800 CVP will be counted for each week.

• 20 percent of your total CVP must be generated from non-initial order volume.

possess the skills necessary—it’s time for you to awaken, sharpen, and practice them to

unleash your true potential.

HOW TO QUALIFY

“I was incredibly impressed when I was taking a behind-the-scenes tour of USANA’s manufacturing area during Leadership Summit. As an RN, seeing there are over 250 safety checks in each batch of any given supplement solidifies my belief in USANA and my confidence in their quality guarantee.”

“I started my USANA business six years ago. I was looking for a way to improve my income, and USANA was the perfect solution. It’s a business that allows me to be a mother, nutritionist, and a homemaker. I’ve taken it seriously from the very first day. I allowed myself to be trained and haven’t looked back since. I took every opportunity to learn by attending lectures, celebrations, conventions, and pretty soon, I started to grow. At first, many people didn’t believe in me, but I still kept going.

“I strive to provide information responsibly, behave ethically, tell the truth, and adopt an attitude of service. I know it is a profound commitment when I invite someone to join my team, but I know the reward is great! Thank you, USANA.”

Ruby Directors—February 22–April 11, 2015

“I have been using the USANA products for more than 10 years as a customer and became an Associate three years ago. After becoming an Associate, I started to observe what other Associates do and what contributes to their success. I quickly found that they have common traits and characteristics. They set goals and they achieved them. They work as a team and support each other. And most importantly, they share the vision of Dr. Wentz to bring high quality and healthy living to everyone. I simply follow this model.

“Don’t underestimate the power of sharing your personal experience and success with everyone you come across. That person may not decide to accept the benefits of our products, but they may refer you to someone who will. This is the power of networking.”

“I am a baseball champion, a top Preferred Customer enroller in Canada, and I love winning in everything I do. USANA allows me the opportunity to succeed because of its top-quality products. I have a profound conviction in USANA, and that helps me achieve great growth because I can offer those around me the best products available for optimal health.

“I am very happy to have taken this step with USANA to become a Ruby Director. My team has contributed largely to my success, and I am extremely grateful to them. I always know that when my team is involved, I can reach great heights, and I hope with them by my side, I can reach my highest potential with USANA.”

“Advancing to Ruby taught us that the team grows at the same rhythm as its leader. If you are a dynamic leader, things just happen. I’ve watched members of my team learn and develop their own abilities so that their businesses can grow. Now, these Associates on my team are my friends. And when you have friends working with you, everything always turns out well because one of the greatest aspects of friendship is loyalty. The USANA difference lies in the incredible people who make USANA an incredible company.

“I share with you this advice: don’t feel excluded. Every leader has heard the word ‘no’ at some point and has been told that it will never work, but the results speak for themselves. A USANA career is not about speed, it’s about endurance

“Now was the perfect time to strive to become Ruby Directors. We had just discovered that we were going to be first-time parents and were overjoyed. It all began with a decision. We reaffirmed our ‘why’ and set to work by building up our team according to our action plan. We wanted to focus on the growth of our team and trigger a series of advancements for everyone. By helping our team achieve their short-term goals, we were able to reach this advancement. Undoubtedly, it is thanks to them that we can enjoy this accomplishment.

“USANA is the chance to make all your dreams come true and take control of your life. We share this great life plan with passion, and we are certain that if USANA is good for us, it is good for everyone else.”

“After returning from Leadership Summit in March, we found our team encouraged by the things we learned and shared with them. I sat down in front of my dream board and asked myself if I wanted to try to get to Ruby. I initially planned to do so before International Convention 2015, so I said to myself, ‘Just do it!’

“Believe in yourself first. Believe in USANA, believe in your team, and you can have success. The stronger you believe, the greater success you can achieve. Think of USANA as your own business and learn to be the boss. When you stand in front of your friends, healthy and confident, you represent USANA and shine bright like a diamond.”

“Because of USANA, I found hope from desperation in my life. My life is filled with energy again. Now I feel it is my mission to help more people in need. USANA has changed my life and using this platform, I can help others change their lives as well.

“I’ve learned that if an ordinary person wants to have financial freedom, the best way to achieve it is with USANA. USANA is an honest and scientifically sound company that offers world-class products, a fair, great compensation plan, and first-class service. As long as we continue to share with others, continually work hard, build strong networks, help one another, and pass along love, we will surely succeed.”

“Success is a responsibility. We understand that as leaders, we are in a place to inspire others, especially our team. We are often taught that it is best to lead by example, so it was important for us to set the bar high and continue to grow.

“We are so very grateful to have been given the gift of USANA. We are average human beings who found a way to not only add value, but also multiply value in the lives of those around us. This company and Dr. Wentz’ vision is about changing lives and one day living in a disease-free world. How amazing is it that we can have true health and build true wealth all with USANA. “I am very thankful to my loving and supporting family, my team, and my big USANA family. I’ve been busy every day striving to help others achieve their health goals and build financial security. “On my journey of advancing from Gold Director to Ruby Director, I was not simply running by myself. I was leading my whole team to grow together. The real test is how you perform in life, and everyone did a fantastic job.

“I’m an immigrant mother and I came to Canada to support my family members as they studied there. This taught me to never give up easily. So I walked out from the kitchen in my house to the big stage that is my USANA business. I set goals and found ways to continually learn in the field. Now I get to show those around me how USANA has changed my life and how it can influence others. USANA has helped my life flourish in a foreign country and will continue to do so.”

“My USANA business has completely changed the course of my life. It’s filled me with confidence to design and control my life. It’s a great feeling of accomplishment to know that I’ve helped my family and friends regain their health while enjoying the benefits of health in my own life.

“I was able to go from Gold to Ruby because of the hard work from my whole team. My team has a similar mindset and similar goals in life, so we’ve been able to learn from one another, take care of each other, and now, we all progress together.

“We’ve worked to create a life full of sunshine and positive energy, so thank you to USANA for bringing happiness to our lives. We are just so lucky!”

“USANA means doing what I love and sharing this healthy lifestyle with others.”

DAY628

SANA Silver Director Joyce Lee lives every single day with purpose, and her life’s

journeys have taken her all over the globe. As she travels, she has only two necessities: her bright personality and her running shoes.

That’s because, each day, no matter where she is in the world, Joyce runs.

And she has been doing so for quite some time––more than 900* days in a row. But she had little idea what she was getting herself into when she started more than two years ago. “I don’t know what compelled me to choose running, but I decided I wanted to do something every single day for a full year,” Joyce says. “On January 1, 2013, I started running.”

RUNNING AROUND THE WORLDFrom one-mile runs to marathons, the distances vary, but every day is a new adventure with this unique challenge. Her first year wasn’t always easy. “I traveled to nearly a dozen countries and states for work, races, pleasure, and USANA,” she says. “Everywhere I went, I ran.”

As Joyce ran through her first year, she learned a lot about herself. “I was great at coming up with up with excuses,” Joyce laughs. “But I learned I was even better at ignoring those excuses and pushing through.”

EACH RUN BRINGS PURPOSEEvery day, Joyce documents her run, and she is grateful she can look back and remember each day. One of the highlights of her first year was her own birthday—day 67 of her journey. Having flown from Japan to her home in California to a team event in Texas, Joyce found herself exhausted but determined to finish her day’s run. “The hotel gym was closed, it was pouring rain outside, and I was

extremely tired,” she recalls. “I realized the only way to complete my run that day was to come up with a solution, and I did,” she laughs. After tying up her running shoes close to midnight, Joyce ran loops inside the halls of her hotel for a total of two miles.

Joyce’s one-year anniversary of her running start date also provided her with an incredible memory. To celebrate, Joyce held a “fun run” with the proceeds going to USANA’s True Health Foundation. More than 30 individuals actively participated in the run while another 70 from around the globe donated to her cause. The event raised more than $1,600, and Joyce was ecstatic. As the anniversary date expired, however, Joyce was faced with a challenge: where to go from here. “While my original intention was to run 365 days consecutively, I couldn’t bear to stop experiencing something like that,” Joyce says. With that determination in mind, Joyce continued to run, and she has yet to stop.

EXEMPLIFYING THE #USANALIFESTYLEJoyce is grateful for the opportunity she has to challenge herself, and she has many goals still left to accomplish, one of those being Ironman Arizona in November. “The mere thought of competing makes my heart race and palms sweat,” she says. “It is definitely going to be my biggest challenge, but I am so excited!”

As Joyce laces up her shoes each day, she is overcome with gratitude for the amazing support she has from her friends and family, and for USANA helping her achieve her goals. “To me, USANA means doing what I love and sharing this healthy lifestyle with others. It means to dream big, dig deep, and break through the impossible,” she says. “This isn’t just a company––it’s a family, and it’s a way of living.” n*as of June 19, 2015

Dear USANA Family,

As we approach International Convention, the anticipation and excitement of finding out who will walk across the stage to receive recognition keeps me awake most nights.

What an exciting and rewarding experience it is for me to work with Associates who set exemplary personal and professional goals and then achieve them! These Associates are people just like you. Among our ranks, there are IT professionals, nurses, firefighters, musicians, attorneys, teachers, domestic engineers, civil servants, and business owners, among others. What are they doing to become successful?

I’ve found those who experience success are those who:

1. are crystal clear as to why they are building a USANA business;

2. through time and experience, learn and master the skills of inviting, presenting, and following-up;

3. obtain a bulletproof belief system about themselves, our industry, and USANA; and

4. choose to be consistent and enthusiastic about the ups and downs of building a USANA business.

Success comes to those who choose to see the life-changing potential USANA offers. If a person acts, stays committed, duplicates, and then harnesses the wave of momentum that follows, they are sure to find success with USANA.

We will celebrate throughout Convention those who chose to do things other people didn’t want to do, those who chose to give, those who chose to be extraordinary, and those who chose to become designers of their own destinies.

I can’t wait to hear the names, see the faces, and join in the applause.

There’s nothing like attending Convention to recharge your batteries and set goals for next year. Let’s see what we can do together!

Best,

Jeremy Lunt General Manager of Canada

A Message to the Field

See you at Convention!

MAKING COMMUNICATION EDGE WORK FOR YOU

SHARE Written by Suzanne Houghton @USANA_Suzanne

We understand your life is full of presentations, USANA events, and, of course, you’re focused on living the

#USANAlifestyle, so making the most of your time is a priority. Well, we want to help you manage all of that with Communication Edge.

Located on The Hub, Communication Edge is designed for you: the Associate building a dynamic USANA business. But have you seen the latest upgrades to this amazing tool? We’ve made convenience even more convenient!

From a streamlined landing page to additional social shareables and videos, we’ve got you covered when it comes to sharing USANA.

Communication Edge is like a Swiss Army Knife–it’s hard to pick our favorite function! It is so versatile and can be used in so many different ways depending on the need of our contacts or teammates. And here it is: the Procosa Product eCard. You will be prompted to give your campaign a name. Add in your own personal message, and you are ready to share this with your acquaintance (and possibly your newest Preferred Customer)!

Communication Edge is one big library of content, and while it can seem overwhelming in the beginning, we’ve made it easier with a new landing page. Each time you enter Communication Edge, you’ll see it—think of it as your “home base.” All our most used, most recent, and most beneficial eCards, print materials,

eNewsletters, forms, social shareables, and videos are highlighted right here.

To help you out, we’ve divided these tools into a few important USANA categories: Products, Opportunity, Dr. Oz, New and Trending, and USANA Athletes. Everything you might need to use in a presentation or quick, informal meeting with a potential teammate can be found

off this main landing page. Clicking on these presorted filters quickly gets you to tools based on what you want to share.

Once you decide what topic you want to cover, the next step is to determine how you are going to share your message with your audience.

Share AwayLet’s use this example: You have an acquaintance who is an avid runner, but she is worried about her knees and joints. You’ve talked to her about USANA before, and she is starting to show some interest in the products.

From the landing page of Communication Edge, select under and you will automatically be directed to the library.

On the left side of the next screen, you’ll notice the and options are already selected. There will be several eCards to choose from.

In this instance, you know you’re looking for Procosa™ specifically. So, you can either scroll through the eCards or you can type “Procosa” in the search bar.

What can you do?

From the landing page of Communication Edge, select “Video”

under “Dr. Oz,” and you will automatically be directed to the library where you will find Proflavanol C100 videos.

While eCards and eNewsletters are great ways to share USANA, you don’t want to forget about USANA videos. You’ve seen our top-notch product and business videos at International Convention and USANA events, but this is your chance to share them yourself!

Say you have a friend who happened to see USANA’s Proflavanol® C100 featured on The Dr. Oz Show, and he’s been asking you more about the products.

Have you seen all the videos available to you? They are getting thousands of views on YouTube, but by sharing them through Communication Edge, those you send them to will be directed back to Your Personal Website.

One of the fastest ways you can access all of USANA’s videos is by clicking “Find a Video” located on the left side of the Communication Edge landing page.

WORK TOGETHER

DIVIDE THE WORKLOADDiamond Directors Andrew and Ivey Chen have different specialties in their business. “We divide our workload into different categories,” Andrew explains. “Ivey and I both do recruiting and presenting, but Ivey does more marketing and public relations.” While Ivey organizes events, seminars, parties, and activities every month, Andrew focuses on training and coaching team members. You and your spouse may also find that you each have different specialties in your business, but if you prefer to tackle each aspect together, that’s okay too.

GROW TOGETHERAfter many years together, it’s only natural for couples to grow and develop—and this is equally true for business owners. “Working together as a couple actually helps us,” explain Executive 1-Star Diamond Directors Paulina Septien and Armando Gómez, “because we are constantly motivating and encouraging each other to continue growing and learning.” The not-so-surprising secret? Talking things out. “The key is to keep the communication open as a couple, and, in this case, also as business partners,” they say. “It’s important to set clear objectives and to be strict with your time in order to achieve them.”

MAKE TIME FOR EACH OTHERAll of this isn’t to say that your relationship will be all work and no play. Emerald Directors Sufi and David Chang have figured out how to balance their lives. “For those who are new to this, finding balance between work and personal time for each other is so important,” they say. “Try to set some time aside during the week to do something fun together that keeps you from losing track of how much work and how little personal time you may have for each other.” And their final suggestion is the cutest: “Remember that before your business, your top priority is to care for each other. That should come before anything else.” n

TOP TIPS1. Figure out what works

best for you as a couple —should you divide up the tasks or work on projects together?

2. Set aside some time each week for a date night, and don’t talk business.

3. Look for helpful business-building resources on The Hub and Communication Edge.

FOR BETTER RESULTS

ome might say that marriage is enough of a challenge all by itself, but many USANA Associates have decided to

build their business with their significant others—and have found tremendous success. It takes hard work and extra planning, but with these tips from successful USANA couples, you and your spouse will find that working together has some serious benefits

S “We love setting goals together every Saturday night. We plan out our weekly goals and strategies with our key leaders to help them grow their USANA business.”

—Andrew & Ivey Chen, Diamond Directors

“We are all busy—busy people are the best in USANA. Figure out the best way to make USANA fit into your day.” —Paulina Septien & Armando

Gómez, Executive 1-Star Diamond Directors

“Since we are so opposite, I guess you could say a large part of our growth has come from learning from each other.”
