Usage of job boards by the European labour force
The usage of job boards in Europe is diverse. The range within job boards are used is 19 - 51% of the labour force. The countries where job boards are most used in a job search are Lithuania (51%) and Finland (51%). On the other side, in Sweden and Estonia, these percentages are respectively 19% and 20%.

When we look into the usage op uploading the resume to a databank, we see that the situation is even more diverse compared to job boards (1% – 47%). In Estonia, a country were job boards are less used, 47% uses this method to search for a job. The Portuguese labour force indicate that they barely upload their resume to a database (1%). However, 38% of the Portuguese labour force uses job boards in their search. And aren’t using a job board and uploading a resume to a resume database (which is in most cases a job board) the same?

On almost every job board, your resume can be uploaded. When we combine the numbers of job boards and the uploading of the resume to a database, we see that in Romania (64%) and Lithuania (61%) more than 60%(!) are using one of the discussed methods. In Slovenia (32%) and the Czech Republic (35%), these percentages are the lowest.

Usage of job boards by millennials
When we combine the methods job boards and uploading the resume to a database and compare that result between the millennials and the complete labour force, we see that thereare some huge differences. For example, millennials in Latvia are using the two methods 36% more than the whole Ukrainian labour force. Ukraine and Sweden follow with 30% and 29%. In Austria, compared to the whole labour force, 20% less millennials are using job boards or the resume database.

There are also differences in the share the job board market leader holds within a country. For example, in Bulgaria (52%) we see that jobs.bg holds more than 50% of the job board market. Norway and Denmark follow with 49% and 45%. The job board market leader in Italy, infojobs.com, holds only 15% of the Italian job board market.
