Goffredo Reggiani

HIS

TO

RY propelled the company into

a brand new world, where

scientifi c research joined

aesthetics. Reggiani created

the fi rst series of luminaires

for halogen lamps with a

dichroic refl ector. The great

success of this invention

motivated an entire industry

beginning a series of

Reggiani innovations, many

of which were adopted as

international standards.

Reggiani has received many

prestigious awards that

serve as testimony to the

important role the company

has played in the lighting

industry. Great partnerships

have been formed with

renowned architects and

artists including Gio Ponti

and Richard Rogers, and

The Reggiani adventure

began in the 1950’s.

Goffredo Reggiani, the

eclectic entrepreneur and

founder of the company,

combined art and Italian

creativity to develop his

fi rst creations. He began

with decorative lamps. The

prototypes for these were

personally constructed by

Goffredo.

His love of beauty and desire

for perfection compelled

him to involve artists and

architects in his dream.

Mr. Reggiani surrounded

himself with the best. This

philosophy launched the

company onto the lighting

scene.

In the 1970’s a strategic

move into lighting technology

these collaborations came

the IOS System, showcasing

the combination of design

freedom with energy saving

considerations. The ability

of Reggiani to reinvent light

now takes shape in the LED

LUCE system using the

exclusive LED light source

incorporated into the most

effi cient optics.

In the early 1980’s Goffredo

Reggiani brought this

remarkable brand to the

Amercan marketplace.

Light Forum is an unusual,

extraordinary space

It ranges from the “La Luce

Precedente” (Early light)

museum to the Experimental

Light Room, where visitors

different types and colors of

The Forum includes an

auditorium and is the

no infrared or ultraviolet

radiation, making them

perfect for lighting works

of art and delicate objects.

The quality and color fi delity

can be very high and the

energy consumption is low

for both cool and warm color

temperatures. They are

adjustable with electronic

dimmers.

(Light-Emitting Diode)

source uses the best Nichia

which are enhanced by the

The CRI (Color Rendering Index)

measures the ability of a light

source to faithfully reproduce the

color of various objects, calculated

by the average of fourteen

different test color samples. The

system shares the design

and materials of the IOS

system resulting in more

light from the same energy.

BODY

In order to keep the

performance of LEDs stable,

their temperature must be

within a certain temperature

range.

The lighting bodies of

the Reggiani LED LUCE

system are designed for this

purpose, which they perform

to perfection.

The light sources of the

Reggiani LED LUCE system,

the diodes, are selected

at source and each one is

controlled according to the

quality of their light. They

are only used if they pass

the most stringent quality

tests.

The absence of ultraviolet

and infrared radiation means

light-sensitive objects, such

as food and materials are

not damaged, so they can

be illuminated in complete

safety.

Generally, the luminous

effi ciency of traditional

optics does not exceed

65%. At least one third of

the absorbed energy, and

sometimes even half, does

not turn into light – it is

wasted in the form of heat.

Basing his targeted

research on these facts,

Fabio Reggiani created the

IOS System. This solution

combines effi ciency,

fl exibility and savings.

The exclusive IOS system

is based on optics with a

luminous effi ciency of up to

90% ( 90). It is available in

three sizes, eleven different

colors, and in four different

light beams.

The effi ciency of the IOS

System is the result of four

years of studies and tests.

The materials used and the

exclusive production process

make it both technologically

innovative and easy to use.

The optics of the IOS System

are fully interchangeable

thanks to the special twist-

lock fi xing system, making

the function of each light

point easy to change at

any time. The simplicity

of IOS installation means

beams, irrespective of the

light source, are variable

to suit the application.

The IOS combines

exceptional effi ciency with

everyday savings in energy

consumption of more than

25% over conventional

systems.

LED LUCE is the new Reggiani lighting system with high-power

LED technology (16 watts, 850 Lm, CRI 90, 3000 K.) LED LUCE has

an excellent white color, 50,000-hour lifetime, low consumption,

and is environmentally friendly and maintenance-free, making it

an excellent alternative to traditional light sources.

The IOS System combines the luminous effi ciency of the optics

(up to 90%) with easy installation based on the twist-locking fi xing

system. A wide range of colors, sizes, light sources and light beams

make it possible to effectively light and still save energy. It only

takes a few seconds to change the color or shape of the light beam.

Sir Richard Rogers was born in Florence in 1933 and made his name designing emblematic buildings such as the Pompidou Centre, Lloyd’s of London, the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and the London Millennium Dome. His studio, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RSHP) has offi ces in London, Barcelona, Madrid and Tokyo. One of his most recent prominent designs is the new tower for the World Trade Center, New York.

“Our initial concept was to see the technical lighting system as a creature; to produce an object that was luminous, whether it was on or off (...), an object throbbing with life (...). I believe Maantis is a benchmark in the design of offi ce lighting but it is also a beautiful design object that people could want for their own homes. Beautiful, yes, but also incredibly functional.” Richard Rogers

Álvaro Joaquim Melo Siza Vieira

was born in Matosinhos, Portugal,

in 1933. From 1949-55 he studied

at the School of Architecture,

University of Porto (ESBAP). His

fi rst project was fi nished in 1954.

From 1955-58 he worked with

the architect Fernando Távora.

In 1976 he was appointed

Professor of Construction at

ESBAP. He has been Visiting

Professor in Lausanne, Bogotá

and Harvard. He lives in Porto.

Created in 1999 to light an

exhibition of his work in the

Basilica Palladiana, Vicenza,

Lorosae has the same

classic harmonious beauty

as Palladian architecture. Its

essentially pure forms rise

above time and fashion to fi t

naturally into and embellish

settings of any architectural

style.

Lorosae retains all its

charm and beauty from the

outstanding perfection of

its proportions in each of

its many models and sizes.

The Lorosae comes in two

different shade options,

methacrylate or blown

glass and is available in fi ve

different colors.

Saccardo, B&S is a pendant

with a vaguely Bauhaus-

inspired line designed for

large spaces. The fi ns on

the aluminium body perform

both an aesthetic and a

heat dissipation function.

Additionally, the refl ector,

with its minimal design,

effectively lights the space

below. The methacrylate

refl ector gives the added

options either diffused or

direct lighting. The perfect

use for B&S is in large

settings with ceilings, such

as shopping centers, lofts

and showrooms.
