    1993 Instructions for Form 1040EZ

    You (and your spouse if married) were under 65 onJanuary 1, 1994, and not blind at the end of 1993.

    Your filing status is single ormarried filing jointly.

    Use thisform if

    Your taxable income (line 6) is less than $50,000. You do not claim a ny dependent s.

    You had only wages, salaries, t ips, and taxable scholarship or fellowship grants, and yourtaxa ble inter es t income was $400 or less . But if you earned tips, including allocated tips, thatare not included in box 5 and box 7 of your W-2, you may not be able to use Form 1040EZ. Seepage 13.

    Most people can fill in the form by following the instructions on the front. But you will have touse the booklet if you received a scholarship or fellowship grant or tax-exempt interest income,such as on municipal bonds. Also, use the booklet if you received a Form 1099-INT showingincome tax withheld (backup withholding).

    Remember, you must report all wages, salaries, and tips even if you dont get a W-2 form from youremployer. You mu st also report al l your t axable interest income, including inter est from ban ks,savings and loans, credit unions, etc., even if you dont get a Form 1099-INT.
