• In May 2010, USACE Alaska District teamed with Warrior Transition Battalion – Alaska to launch Soldier trainee program.
• Program designed to prepare wounded warriors for civilian jobs by providing workplace opportunities and experiences.
• In November 2010, Christopher Bean became first “trainee”
hired into full-time civilian position as drill rig operator.
• In January 2011, program expanded to include Fort Wainwright.
• Five Soldiers currently assigned to program and working at USACE Alaska District with three from Fort Richardson and two from Fort Wainwright.
