C5ISR CENTER CYBER LABORATORIES

Cyber Security(Information Assurance & Vulnerability Analysis)

Crypto-Modernization Laboratory • Transform DoD cryptographic inventory through

T&E and R&D ensuring appropriate security posture for national security systems

• Serve as technical advisor's to the U.S. Army for cryptographic cyber security, IA, Type I Commercial COMSEC Evaluation Program, and trusted validators for Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) implementations.

• Conducts T&E of Inline Network Encryptors, Link and Trunk Encryptors, and Secure Voice products

Cyberspace Operations (Defensive Cyber Capabilities)

Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) Laboratory • Evaluation and assessment of CDS security

solutions for DoD use. • First DoD laboratory certified under DoD

instruction 8540.01. Supports a variety of Defensive Cyber Operations

(DCO) R&D efforts to increase trust, resiliency, and cyber situational understanding within the Army's tactical networks by; hardening the attack surface; creating autonomic capabilities to minimize mission impact while under attack; and creating a framework to maintain status, mission, and threat awareness to enable effective mission command.

Mission Assurance / Resiliency Laboratory (201)• Develop software vulnerability analysis tools and

cutting edge malware analysis techniques. • SME for secure tactical Identity and Access

Management (IdAM) technologies such as public key infrastructure (PKI)

• Investigate novel robust wearable identity / biometric solutions for authentication in austere environments.

Informed the FM 3-12 revision to expand with linkages to FM 3-0 FBRR S&T programs EW PLT and CEMA FDUs Intel & CEMA staff integration MDTF ICEWS Learning Demands, CWSB ECT Learning Demands

Informed current / planned S&T Investments to address Near, Mid and Far architecture needs Informed publication of FM 3-12 Improved Field-Based Risk Reduction process Expanded engineering workforce understanding of command post operations Improved TRADOC understanding on integration of current / emerging CEMA capabilities and

threats; informed what is possible, probable and desirable Reduced risk for technology and transitions (ASA/ALT) Trained 25ID and CPB on engaging an integrated, regional-peer adversaries in a CEMA

environment; Developed, executed and refined new battle drills incorporating CEMA staff

Field Based Risk Reduction Event for Technologies in support of USAREUR ONS Directly informed different consolidation efforts for both SIGINT and EW staff forCEMA

integration Highlighted additional training needs to improve EW personnel performing core functions Re-vectored existing tools to conduct more functions to support CEMA, instead of creating new

tools Informed EW teaming in support of BCT Scheme of Maneuver

All of the above informed the Army on how to employ CEMA across DOTMLPF-P

CYBER BLITZ (2016)Purpose: Converge CEMA across multiple WfF within CUOPS to inform and synchronize S&T, Acquisition, DOTMLPF-P and Operational Forces, and to demonstrate assured EM ops while denying that to a regional-peeradversary.

EVENT RESULTS

Purpose: How can an interim BCT (2022-2025) integrate CEMA, intel and IO across multiple echelons and classifications to support multi-domain maneuver, with enterprise reachback, against a regional-peer in a contested, congested OE?

CYBER BLITZ (2017)

Purpose: How does an IBCT with external support in 2025 integrate Cyberspace, Electronic Warfare, Intelligence, Space, and Information Operations to gain and maintain the advantage in multi-domain operations against a regional peer?
