Administration of drugs i.e Chlorobutanol &
Barbital significantly increases the uronic acid pathway.
Certain drugs are also found to enhance the synthesis of Ascorbic acid.
CLINICAL IMPORTANCE
o ESSENTIAL PENTOSURIA: It is an Autosomal recessive
disorder.
