20 th March 2020 Dear Parents/Carers URGENT UPDATE COVID-19 If you have put your name on the Key Worker list and you are eligible which we must presume you are, please be aware of the following guidance from the Government. WHO SHOULD COME TO SCHOOL The key principles are EVERY CHILD WHO CAN BE SAFELY CARED FOR AT HOME SHOULD BE to enable everyone to follow the Government advice on social distancing as far as possible to reduce the spread of the virus. Please do not be offended if we ask if you can safely care for your child at home, as we really do need to care for our absolute critical workers children. We need to be mindful that if our staff have to self-isolate then the provision will stop and we are trying desperately not to allow this to happen which means that everyone has to do their bit during this national emergency. ALL PARENTS SHOULD USE THE SCHOOL ONLY AS AN ALTERNATIVE AND NOT THE FIRST CHOICE AS WE MUST ALL TRY TO SOCIAL DISTANCE TO BEAT THIS VIRUS. The school office will be manned from 7.30am to 4.15pm for urgent telephone calls and the booking of places moving forward. Do not worry about Monday morning, as we know that some key workers from the list will have to just bring their children to school, as we do not have the time to organise anything differently at this late stage. Vulnerable children, which means those who have a named social worker who require care in school and children who have an EHCP plan, will have provision from 9am to 3.15pm only. Children whose parents are key workers will have provision from 7.30am to 4.15pm. The provision at school will also include a meal, which you must pay for in the normal way, if you currently pay you must pay, if your child currently has a free school meal they will receive a free school meal. Your child can bring a packed lunch if you want them to. CHILDREN USING OUR CARE SERVICE SHOULD BE IN SCHOOL UNIFORM FREE SCHOOL MEAL ENTITLEMENT FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS FOR CHILDREN AT HOME If your child is entitled to a free school meal NOT UNIVERSAL FREE SCHOOL MEAL, as these are not covered in this emergency, you will be provided with a weekly lunch pack. This will include basic items to prepare an adequate lunch for your child. If you wish to take one, please go to the School Kitchen entrance on Monday 23 rd March between 10am and 11am ONLY. The kitchen entrance will be signposted from the main school office. This service will run again on Monday 30 th March at exactly the same time at the same place. IT WILL NOT RUN DURING THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN DURING THE EASTER HOLIDAYS

We know that we will be providing the same school care service from 7.30am to 4.15pm every weekday during

the Easter holidays for all of our Key Workers. We do not know if our vulnerable children or those with an EHCP

plan will be offered this provision at this time and we will have to let you know as the information comes in

from the Government.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE

Like you, we do not know what will happen moving forward and so predicting what our service will look like

after the Easter break is quite difficult. We are not currently sending homework packs home before Easter but

as this situation develops, we will look at a longer term on line learning plan. In the meantime, Miss Gallagher

has sent a good list of websites/resources for you to use for the next 2 weeks.

We will continue to provide updates during this closure via our websites and you should check the site daily

under the tab CORONAVIRUS.

We have also set up an email dedicated to come directly to the Head Teachers on each site and will be

monitored daily so that we can answer your queries as best we can.

The email addresses are:

Once again can we thank everyone for being so patient and understanding as we try to deal with this

unprecedented situation.

Yours sincerely
