The Mailroom at Muhlenberg College provides a variety of services including mail collection and distribution, sale of stamps, and shipment of packages. Our goal is to provide timely and reliable service in a courteous and efficient manner. Outlined below are some basic mail procedures which will help us to achieve this goal and thus save time for parents, students and staff in the processing and delivering of mail.
Addressing The college’s official mailing address is 2400 Chew Street. MILE houses are part of the college and, therefore, the Chew Street address must be used. Mail for students must be addressed as follows:
[First Name], [Middle Initial], [Last Name] Seegers Union Box # _____ Muhlenberg College 2400 Chew Street Allentown, PA 18104-5586
Where possible, please also use your middle initial as many students have the same first and last names. Your box number will further identify you in the event that names are similar. Room numbers, residence hall names, missing box numbers, nicknames and mail in the name of a parent, will either delay the delivery of your mail or it may be returned to sender, if the recipient cannot be identified. Please do not address mail to “P.O. Box _____” as this is a box at the post office. Mail Delivery Mail is delivered daily to students’ mailboxes located on the lower level of Seegers Union. Mailbox numbers usually remain the same for the duration of a student’s stay at Muhlenberg. Packages Packages are to be picked up at the Mailroom, located in the General Services Building behind the Haas College Center. You will receive an e-mail if we receive a package for you. Simply come to the mailroom with your student identification to collect your package(s) which should be picked up within five business days from the date received. Perishable, refrigerated, and fragile shipments are discouraged as the mailroom does not have adequate storage facilities. In addition, please remind family and friends NOT to send cash through the mail. Mailbox Combinations Combination numbers are not given out over the phone. Combinations may be accessed by logging onto Capstone. Click on “Directory Information” and select “Muhlenberg Mail Box” from the drop-down list. Students may also stop by the Mailroom with proper photo identification to obtain mailbox combinations. Remember to lock your mail box after each use. Additional information regarding the Mailroom’s procedures may be found on the web site at http://www.muhlenberg.edu/main/aboutus/mailroom/. We look forward to serving you. Emmeline J. You’re Invited to Work Behind the Scenes!
What would you tell your High School self about how to stand up to insults, racism, bullying and social aggression?
Don't you wish you had received more exposure to anti-prejudice initiatives? The Youth and Prejudice: Reducing Hatred ; Lessons of the Holocaust Conference, offered each year for high school students helps to equip them to face just those social issues. Those students need you to be discussion leaders, role models and to help them navigate the Muhlenberg Campus. Your involvement helps them to express their questions about the Holocaust, and how lessons learned from that historical horror unfortunately still need to be learned today. The conference is Tuesday, November 15 and Wednesday, November 16. It begins both days with the play, FACE FORWARD, performed by Muhlenberg actors, at 9:15 a.m. in Empie Theater. Your involvement is needed at 10:45, when the 350 or so high school students leave the theater for small group sessions. Those sessions end at 1:00 p.m. There is a training/orientation for Muhlenberg Students-date, place and time TBA. In addition, we will have a Team Building Dinner and Training in the Seegers Event Center on November 10, at 5:30 p.m., which starts with the play. I hope we can count on you to help these High School Students create a better world. Please send the information requested below. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
