The Marquette City Band invites individual adult instrumentalists to participate in a unique musical opportunity at the UP Community Band FestivalThe Festival Concert Band! As a member of a community band you are invited to participate in the Festival Concert Band. The schedule will include three rehearsals, special performances, and a concluding concert. There will also be opportunities for unique social activities in the local area. The Marquette City Band, Guest Community Bands, and the Festival Concert Band will perform concerts on Friday and Saturday evenings. Festival Concert Band Leadership The Festival Concert Band will be conducted by Dr. Stephen Grugin, Director of the Marquette City Band and the Director of Bands/Professor of Low Brass at Northern Michigan University. Sectionals, clinics and special performances will be given by faculty from the Music Department of Northern Michigan University and other community and professional musical guests.
