New!
Child, Youth and Family
It takes all sorts of people to care
for children and teens – you may be
surprised to learn that you are just
the right person to do this!
We’re hosting Hot Seats with Child,
Youth and Family during December,
for anyone wanting to know more
about opening their homes to
children and young people in need
of care, support and a stable home
environment.
If you are interested in foster care or
becoming a caregiver yourself, come
along for a chat.
4, 11 & 18 December, 10.30am - 11.30am.
Living Lit in December
December’s Living Lit group will be
Thursday 12 December from 5.45-
6.45pm (note this is a different day
than the usual Wednesday). The topic
for discussion is Memory and we will
have a festive supper to celebrate the
end of the year!
Thursday 12 December, 5.45- 6.45pm.

The Local Government Commission (LGC) is holding a third public meeting prior to possibly proposing change to the shape of local councils in the Wellington region.
Mobilize your friends, neighbours, clubs, and workplaces, and tell the LGC what you think.
Upper Hutt City Council was very impressed by the number of residents at both of the Local Government Commission meetings in Upper Hutt on 21 November. The strong turn-out was a great reflection of our community spirit and engagement in the debate about proposed changes to the structure of regional governance. It was very disappointing that the Commission had to turn away over 100 people due to room constraints but here is another opportunity to make your voice heard.
One more chance to MAKE AN IMPRESSION!

This is another Revelle Jackson colour photograph from sometime around 1966.
The only information we have for it is the caption: “Working mens Club”.
Do you know any of the men in this picture or when and why it was taken? If so, we’d love to hear from you. Contact Reid or Lauren at the Library or email [email protected].
