Dear Families and Friends,

We have had a lovely week with all our students back

at school. The children have been very happy recon-

necting with their friends and with their learning.

In the classroom: In English this week the Junior students resumed

their study of bats. The Senior students continued to work with Kellie

on their novel study of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Last week

they created excellent descriptions of settings and this week they

are focusing on character descriptions. In History with Kellie, the stu-

dents have practised historical enquiry, using artefacts to inspire cu-

riosity and inquisitiveness. In Maths students have focused on length

Soccer with Dave:

The students were given a treat this week with Dave Hughes volunteering his time to

work with the kids to develop and improve their soccer skills. Dave will continue to

work with students throughout the term.

Bush School:

Don’t forget, Thursday at Upper Coopers is Bush School. Bush School allows our stu-

dents to learn in the natural environment, developing skills and understandings while

valuing a positive relationship with nature. Make sure your children come prepared for

fun in the bush, with appropriate shoes and preferably with long pants and long-

sleeved shirts.

Sue:

We were all overjoyed to welcome Sue back to school on Friday. Sue will be teach-

ing guitar, art, music, drama and Indonesian every Friday.

Happy Birthday: Happy Birthday

to Ruby for last Thursday, 14 May.
