put the negative sign in front of the answer! The

positive and negative numbers, they make

When checking our answers, you can add the starting number with the answer, and it should
equal the number between them.
e.g. 3 + -2 = 1
Adding a negative number is the same as taking away.
e.g. 3 + -2 = 1becomes3 – 2 = 1
