• Pbar production task force initiated Dec-Feb 2006• Best luminosity before shutdown:

– 171e30 cm-2s-1– 25 pb-1/week

• Shutdown to Upgrade D0 detector Mar-June 2006• Fast start up (<2 weeks)• Rush of records: 171182191205228229e30• Current best:

– store 229.0e30 (avg CDF & D0)– week 33pb-1– month ~120pb-1

• Average store 27-32 hrs (longest 54hrs), ~120-130 hrs/week36x36 bunches ~270e9 p/bunch, 60-80(max) pbars/bunch

• Beam-beam effects in Tevatron:– Ksi~0.025 for pbars losses/emittances– Ksi ~0.015 for protons losses/emittances

– Faster AA to MI to RR transfers (<15 min)

– Pbar Target optimization

• New Tevatron WP:

– To improve luminosity lifetime (less losses, no dEmm)

– Allow higher Np and Na

2007 – First Year of “Deliverables”

• “Hard deliverables” are the projects which

CERN needs but can not back-up itself in

case of failure (thus, special attention and

protection needed):

– Lumi Monitors for 2 IPs (2007)

– Tune Feedback (2007)

– Beam Commissioning (2007-2009-beyond)

– Phase II rotating collimators prototype (2009)

Accelerator Systems FY07 Priorities

1. Lumi-Monitors: construct, install, start commissioning

2.2. Tune&Coupling FB: deliver design, participate in installation Tune&Coupling FB: deliver design, participate in installation

and commissioningand commissioning

3. Schottky: participate in installation and commissioning

4. Hardware Commissioning: execute current plan – SAFELY!

5. Beam Commissioning: develop acceptable/detailed

execution plan for FY08+ by ~mid-07 (more from BNL!)

6.6. Physics experiments: Physics experiments: RHIC (BBLR),RHIC (BBLR), Tevatron(PLL), ecloud Tevatron(PLL), ecloud

• Constrained by budget, #of tasks dropped

• Plans to further improve CERN-LARP
