Young Adults Boat Outing! – Today We are meeting today following second service at the Wendy’s off the Hal Greer exit for lunch and then heading to Beech Fork State Park for an afternoon of kayaking and canoeing. All are welcome to attend. We hope to see you there! NEW Guardrails Study – New series Those in their 20’s and 30’s are invited to join Club 23 on Sunday mornings in the church office “family room” at 9:30am as we begin a new 6-week series called, Guardrails...Avoiding Regrets in Your Life by Andy Stanley. Learn to avoid regret by establishing biblical guardrails. Text Me / My Student Pastor Melissa likes to pray for all of the college students during their school year. If you are currently enrolled in school and would share your phone number with Pastor Melissa, she will connect with you a few times during the year by text. Please put your number on your blue card if you would like to be part of this encouraging ministry. Ladies' Prayer Retreat - Sponsored by the CWC – 08/18 Join TVCOG ladies on August 18th and 19th at Rippling Waters for a prayer treat. This is a free event open to all ladies. Some of our ladies go early on Friday and have lunch together on the way and enjoy the afternoon at Rippling Waters. The first activity is dinner at 6:00 p.m. and the retreat lasts through Saturday at noon. Breakfast is provided on Saturday morning as well. Mark your blue card if you can attend! This retreat will serve as the August monthly meeting. Voices of Praise Choir Fall Season Begins – 08/27 Those interested in joining the choir please mark your blue card and Pastor Mandy will be in touch with you. Rehearsals begin Sunday, August 27th and are every Sunday afternoon at 4pm. We sing for both services twice per month throughout the season. CBH (Christians Broadcasting Hope) Retreat at Billy Graham's "Cove" Retreat Center – 10/15 – 10/18 Join Pastors Thom and Melissa for a three-day retreat getaway starting Sunday night, Oct 15 through Wednesday, Oct 18 at noon. The retreat center is in beautiful Asheville, NC. Jim Lyon, General Director of the Church of God will be the host, and award-winning singer, Larnelle Harris, will be the guest worship leader. Pastor Melissa will be leading one of the sessions! The costs (for meals and lodging) are as follows: Single: $527 / Double: $392 / Triple: $368 / Quad: $350 This price is for TVCOG members only. Club 23 Treating College Students to Lunch! – 08/13 Club 23 is treating college students to lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings after church on Sunday, August 13th. Are you heading back to college? Come join us! Manly Meal – 08/15 All men are invited for a fellowship lunch at Applebee’s in Teays Valley at 12PM on Tuesday, July 18th. This men’s group meets for a monthly lunch and time of fellowship at various restaurants from Charleston to Barboursville. Young at Heart – 08/21 Those 55 and over are invited to join us on the 3rd Monday of each month at 12PM in the Student Center for a carry-in lunch. Bring a generous dish to share and enjoy a time of fellowship. Our next gathering will be August 21th. Pastor Jed and Maggie Kelly will be the speakers. Sharing Hope in Crisis Seminar – 08/26 All are invited to join in on the Sharing Hope in Crisis Seminar that will be at the Teays Valley Church of the Nazarene and presented by the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team. Saturday, August 26th | 8:30am-4:00pm | Cost: $45 per person (includes lunch, materials, and snacks). TVCOG will pay for the first four to sign up. United We Stand Recovery Rally – 09/02 There will be a Recovery Rally sponsored by various recovery organizations on Sept 2nd from 3pm-7pm at Eleanor Park. This event will have speakers, music, food and testimonies of recovery. All are welcome to attend this community event. ACT Math Review – 09/02 If you have a student or are a student preparing to take the ACT exam on September 9th you should consider taking advantage of this FREE ACT Math Review led by collegiate level math educator, Joy McCutcheon. The class will be held on Saturday, September 2nd from 10AM-12:00PM in the Green Room. Please sign up on your blue card to register. Mom’s Fat Patty’s Lunch – 09/05 Join us for lunch at Fat Patty’s for any mom with kids still at home that can come socialize and have lunch together. We meet at 11:30AM. Children are welcome. Men’s Group Bible Study – 09/06 Our Wednesday night men’s Bible study will resume the Wednesday after Labor Day, September 6th in the Green Room. Canaan Valley Men’s Golf Trip – Weekend of September the 16th All men are welcome to join us for this year’s annual golf trip to Canaan Valley. This year we have a 2-night, 3-night or 4-night package. The 2-night package is $230.00 includes room both nights and 2 rounds of golf with cart. The 3-night package is $330. The 4-night package is $430.00. Replays are available at an additional $9.00 per 9 holes. Rooms are limited to the first 24 to sign up. BBQ Just for Incoming 6th Graders! – TODAY! We are welcoming all incoming 6th graders and their families into our student ministry today August 6th with a BBQ directly following church at the Worline’s home. Back to School Bash – 08/09 Join us 6:30PM – 8:00PM for games, prizes, inflatables and food! Be sure to invite all your friends! Help Us Out With Schedules! If your student will be participating in any fall sports/band/choir, etc., please give a schedule to Pastor Jed so we can come and support your student.

Revved Up Kidz

Your Child’s Safety is Our Priority! In our Revved Up Kidz ministry one of the most important things we strive to do for our children is to keep them safe. Our check-in process helps us accomplish that task. At check-in, each child is given a nametag with a number on it, and each parent is given a slip with a corresponding number. It is imperative that all children are checked in and parents present their slip when they pick up their child because this ensures that the right child is connected with the correct parent or guardian. Back to School Bash – 08/09 On Wednesday, August 9th the Revved Up Kids will be partnering with the Garage Student Ministry to kick off the school year with a Back to School Bash. We will have an outdoor movie, games, and inflatables! Volunteer Appreciation Lunch – 08/19 Calling ALL Revved Up Volunteers!
