Our staff has done a tremendous job focusing on the learning needs of our students and are using highly effective strategies to maximize student learning. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement of your child’s learning from home. Our faculty has started planning for next school year. The school plan moving forward will align to the Hawaii Department of Education’s state plan and its goals which include the five promises of 2030: Hawai’i, Equity, School Design, Empowerment, and Innovation. Join me for Talk Story & Coffee with the Principal to discuss topics such as this and to hear more about our school efforts to support your child. In Kohala, we are blessed with an abundance of partnerships. Mahalo to Mr. Brown with Kohala Lion’s Club for removing the rusted fencing along the side of the cafeteria. Thank you to the generous donors who gave towards funding a new playground equipment and our kinder team! Because of their efforts, the DOE will assist & advance the project. Due to the gracious donations by the North Kohala Schools Cultural Enrichment Program students have been able to attend performances at Kahilu Theatre at no cost to families. In November, they sponsored a Ukulele Slack Key Assembly in the cafeteria. Last month PID offered First Aid/CPR certification to our families. Be on the lookout for more from them and take advantage of the classes they’re bringing. We want to bid Mr. Chinen, school librarian, mahalo nui loa for his many years of service. We wish him the best as he moves on to retirement at the end of December! Mahalo to a great first semester & best wishes for a blessed and safe holiday season!
